Took my step dad here for his 85th bday tonight. I hadn't been here for a few years; I was astonished at how run down the restaurant seems to have gotten. I arrived at 4:30pm (they opened at 3pm) and the front door glass was filthy...most likely hadn't been cleaned since the day prior. Once inside I immediately noticed a musky smell and once at our table was sickened by how filthy the overhead light fixtures are (caked on dust and splats of old dried food still stuck on them)....looked around to see all were filthy. We all had filets and a ribeye....none had any flavor and the ribeye was tough. Server was ok service, but just mediocre. Needless to say, we won't be back again. read more

My Hunny took me out for a Steak dinner. He said let's go to Outback ! It's been awhile since we have been . I ordered an Ice Tea. Hubby ordered a Strawberry Mojito. I took a sip , very refreshing and yummy! We were served by Julia A . She was very accommodating and friendly :) We had that wonderful brown bread and butter ! So, good ! I ordered a special 3 Course meal - Blue Cheese House Salad, a 9 oz. Sirloin 2 sides - Fully Loaded Potato, and Broccoli. A Slice of cheese cake for desert . Hubby ordered a 9 oz Sirloin w/ Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli. Everything was cooked well . And was delicious. We were so full we took 1/2 our meals home and the cheese cake too . The past few times we have dined here have been a vast improvement from my last review a year ago. I still want them to bring back three items, in order of importance: meatloaf with the Fresno chili jam sauce, the salted caramel cookie, and the broccoli soup!! I'm a creature of habit and I usually order the same items each time or it varies only slightly. I love the potato soup on most days, suggestion: always upgrade to a bowl! Occasionally, it has been too salty, most days it is suburb flavor, with the cheesy and bacon goodness on top! 86 the green onions please. I enjoy the kids mac, as another upgrade. I prefer it over the steakhouse mac and cheese. Additionally, I love the shrimp. I really wish they would be able to make it half & half as an option. Meaning, I could have 3 coconut shrimp and 3 grilled shrimp as my entrée. PLEASE seriously consider my requests/suggestions on this review. The current managers, Elliot & Juan are amazing and always take good care of us and other patrons! (Side note: we still miss Wendy). Our server most recently in the bar dining area, was new. However, it didn't seem to show. She was kind, polite, and attentive to us, and all of her tables. The past few times the hostess was amazing! It creates a much better atmosphere when the staff are friendly and welcoming. The reason I say this is because the other hostess has been very curt and hostile over the phone and in person. It is just an unpleasant experience when that happens. For the dessert that comes with the Aussie, Aussie, Aussie meal, I absolutely adore the raspberry sauce that comes with the cheesecake! Outback can upgrade the dessert to something of your choice for a nominal fee. I feel it is worth paying a few bucks more to have the dessert of your choice. Cheers mate! ;) read more

I realy enjoyed my meal, and service was ok.. Thus why the 4 stars.. Long time ago, remember one of there staff, or the hostess , would open the doors for you, now it was 3 girls up front, not sure if one was being trained or what, but a little help maybe specially a guy with a cane... Ok, im past that, but our waiter was a little slow as well, not sure if she was overwhelmed but to honest the place was not really dead, but not booming for the dinner hour either. I came here for my bday dinner, and was looking forward to eating there since its been a while.. Ambiance is relaxing, mostly booths, but a few tables in the back if you dont like booths like myself.. Bar is has some tvs, and can make most drinks that I asked if they could do it.. We had the bloomin Onion , my wife had the Salmon, which looked soooo GooD.. I had the steak and alice chicken, or something like that, was really good... Wasnt able to eat the chicken, due to step daughter eating my lefts overs that night..... sigh, lol... I fel bad we only brought he a bloomin Onion, so wasnt to mad about it.. Outback Modesto... Ambiance is casual and we opted to sit in the bar area, Flora was great, with as busy as the bar area was, she did her best to keep up. Had the Alice Springs chicken combo with 5oz sirloin and the steak was a bit chewy. Chicken was perfectly cooked though. For an appetizer had the mushrooms. They are really good. Wifey had the bloomin' fried chicken and was only able to eat half. Not because it was bad but because it was a lot. Wouldn't recommend the chicken tortilla soup unless you want to season it at the table to your taste. It is pretty heavy and I had to salt it quite a bit and generally don't add salt to anything I get when we eat out normally. Wife loved the potato soup so would recommend that as an alternative. Overall good experience and pretty consistent for Outback. read more

Had not been in this establishment in so long! My husband got some gift cards and we were excited to eat that bloomin onion. It was perfectly crisp and beautiful! We are at point where we should not consume so much salt but we said a Hail Mary and we ate as much as we could. I enjoyed my chicken on the barbie it was good and so was that baked potato. Again everything was salty but that's because we are old and can't have so much of it. Our waitress was so nice she just kept filling up our cups with water and made sure she came around to ask if we needed anything. Unfortunately we didn't catch her name. Came in here after a long hiatus of not eating at outback my cousin's birthday one of his favorite places to eat so he came in sat down at the bar. We were greeted by a lovely bartender by the name of "Flor" . It was a busy Friday night we'll ask for menus got some drinks service was great. Got our food took a while other people that sat down after us had gotten their meals before us. Flor took care of us , keeping our drinks cold , bread and butter stocked. Let's not forget it's a Friday night and graduation week. The only thing I was disappointed about is that we came in to try out there 14.99 special. In which they did not participate in. It's a franchise so what can you expect. I was thinking 3 star after my meal and when I went to do my review that's exactly what they had 3 stars, so I agree with the consensus. It's sad when the best thing you like from a steakhouse is the bread. But I liked the bread more than the steak which was too small in my opinion (9oz.) and I prefer the coconut shrimp at Red Lobster over Outbacks. The salad was so small and not exciting in the least. It reminded of the $1.35 packs you buy pre mixed from the store. The service was friendly but overall it reminded me why it's been so long since I been there. I was almost going to order their special for $18.99 you get coconut shrimp, and two sides and a piece of chesscake. I saw the cheesecake get delivered to someone else and it was the smallest, thinest slice of cheesecake I ever seen. I would have been so disappointed if they braught me that tiny little slice at the end. It was Friday night and they wasn't even packed at all. I know why now. My friend and I came for appetizers and drinks at the bar. It's a Monday night. She was by itself. I had a 9 ounce glass of wine. She had a drink. She never came back to ask us if we want to second drink now we're finished the game is on so we were gonna get a second set of drinks, but it's too late now we're ready to go the Manager came and just sit and talked to the customers in the corner and never did around around the bar before he was sitting in the corner to talk to VIPs. Whoever they may be, but that took away from their sales so now we're just got our check wouldn't even want water because the TV and our customers are more important than us!!!! Music was average! She takes care of the people, the customers on the other side of the bar and when she gets to us, she turns her back to us and walk away. We had to ask the bus boy who couldn't speak English for a bag because our waitress was hard to find. We dined at the restaurant on Thursday and were seated promptly . My wife ordered the rib eye steak and I ordered the spicey ribeye . After a short wait , the steaks came out and my wife's steak was very thick and looked really nice. It was cooked to perfection and she said it tasted good. Mine on the other hand was very thin, dark and looked over cooked. I ordered medium and it was well done and very dry. It was like an old freezer burnt steak. It did have a good taste . Today my son chose to dine in at Outback Steakhouse. Granted, he has never been here before because he is not a meat eater like his father. I truly forgot our servers name, but she was a female server that also took care of the bar area 3 months ago. It was the best service we had in a very long time, and I also tipped in that same compacity. She was very attentive and most definitely on top of everything .i.e. refills of Shirely Temples/ beverage's. I placed my half empty glass down on the table and there she appeared with a fresh one. The strawberry mojito was very good! We started off with the highly addictive bread and butter. I order the prime rib medium and my son order ribeye and lobster combo which was also his first time trying. She was so good that she read my facial expressions and responded attentively to them. She was awesome! Drinks were refilled without asking and the bread was refilled too! The steak was done to perfection and our specifications! Very tasty and our grilled lobster was delicious! We wend to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. The food was great, as usual. We went on a weekday. We enjoyed streak, lobster, burgers, and, of course, the bloomin' onion (my favorite). The spices on their steak is the perfect blend. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We were left unchecked on for long periods of time. Waitress was pleasant but did not go out of her way to service us. Meals were well portioned with plenty to take home as left-overs. Terrible! We waited a very long time to get our orders in. I ordered a peach margarita and it did not taste anything like it. It was very bitter and tasted like bad water. The plain margarita replacement that I got was much better. However these came in a regular water glass full of ice, so not your typical margarita order... the steak, loaded potato, and crab Mac n cheese were all on point. Our table was dirty when we first arrived and the though they wiped it down, there was still food on the edge of the table by the wall. They need to do a really good wipe of things before passing the table to the next person. We could hear them accidentally break a whole tray full of glass exiting the kitchen and had to wonder if it was our food. We spent a good portion of our time waiting for someone to let us pay the bill. I would be concerned about cleanliness and timeliness if I went here again.
