I once again left Texas Roadhouse wishing we had a similar restaurant close to where I live. We had Eric as our waiter this time and he was so polite and kind. You consistently get the same vibe here- happy eaters, great staff, delicious food. We bring our own containers for leftovers because we always know we will be leaving with some. This time, I had the steak filet salad and I don't think I'll ever get anything different now. It's so good and gives you the balance of meat and leafy greens and tomatoes. It was the first time I had a blue cheese dressing in who knows how long (if ever). I think the name of it always made me avoid it. I'm glad I wanted to try something new because I LOVE it . Three times ive had steak there and each time they screw it up! My wifes rice was.seasoned supposed but tasted like they cooked it out back in the hay field! No attempts were made to fix things . I usually hate chains, but I was in an unfamiliar location with a picky eater, so went because the chicken critters are always the way my kiddo likes them. I had a 6oz sirloin with a cup of chili and mashed potatoes w/gravy. Like aforementioned, I do not frequent chain restaurants, but TRH consistently has good steaks. At $15.60 you can't best it. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The service here was stellar (shout out to server Gabrielle and manager Jessica). My only complaint is the chili was WAY WAY too salty. The steak and service exceeded my expectations so I don't even really care about the chili, I'll just get something else next time. Overall a great experience! Definitely a fun time here. This was a short drive from our hotel and we thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did. Quite the crowd here as we walked in and they told us we had a 30 minute wait. We waited outside for about 10 minutes then told to come in and stand on the "next up" line. The team here is very friendly and welcoming and they hold the doors open for those that need a little extra help... Nice touch! We were seated and our lovely server 'Val' came right over. She was extremely cordial and asked if we had any questions... After a few minutes she returned and we gave her our order. Shortly after we received our salad. After a short wait we received our main meals of 6oz hand-cut sirloin and I had the fish and chips. Everything was delicious and served perfectly. Tasty steak with mushrooms and onions and my fish was crispy-tasty with with a moist center. Great job. The restaurant is definitely a loud family place with a lot of fun electricity in the air. Great 1st time experience. Wait is long bit worth it. The food was great 10/10 Waitress was polite and she kept checking on me every 5mins. Crowded and loud area but thats what roadhouse is all about. Now for the One Negative: As a big group finished, here comes the busboy. As I'm eating enjoying my steak and ribs, he puts this disgusting tray filled with dirty plates cups etc etc next to me while he's cleaning the tables. He's literally wiping the crumbs off the table to the floor and not giving a damn. He knew i was there because i moved the dirty plates and utensils away from me. No acknowledgement whatsoever. Hit or miss when it comes to Texas Roadhouse. Their dinner rolls are great especially that cinnamon butter. I ordered a ribeye medium temperature. The waitress showed a picture of medium to confirm. When I got my ribeye, it was not only over cooked (well done at this point) but also burnt. The kicker was that it was a manager who brought out the food so she clearly saw the burnt steak and still decided it was okay to give to a customer. How did she think serving burnt steak was acceptable? I let the waitress know how the steak was over cooked and burnt and after speaking with a manager said they will replace it. She said I could still keep the steak if I wanted since they were just going to throw it out, even suggesting I could give it to my dog. I declined that offer as I wouldn't give that to anyone human or animal. The replacement was much better in quality of the cut and temperature. read more

Well, we ordered the ribs, and they were reheated and overcooked ... but oddly enough you can tell when they were first cooked they probably were pretty good. The Chili I ordered arrived stone cold! Not warm, cold. The BBQ Chicken was so dry you needed a ton of sauce to try to eat. All the dishes seemed reheated, not fresh, so disappointing. The cocktails seemed devoid of alcohol, but that is all too common to places that cater to young adults. The service was friendly and meant well ... they care, but totally clueless on how to get fresh cooked or even properly reheated food to your table. Waited more, then finished our salads with no rolls in sight. Then another waitress come and delivered our meals, so asked her. She was prompt in getting the rolls for us. Wish I had them for the salad. She dropped off our bill and I went to pay her and she just turned her back on us without a word and went to the other end of the bar. Came back about 5 minutes later and finally took payment. Usually this place is great and I'd would give it 5 stars. We like it there. This was just our first bad experience. It says something really special about a Restaurant when at door opening, patrons were standing in line. I had the Portobello Chicken and Jeff had the Ribeye. Both Entrees were great. When we arrived they took our name and were seated within a few minutes with hot rolls and whipped cinnamon butter. The menu offers a great selection for the whole family. We started off with the combo starter which came with tender boneless buffalo style chicken , amazing fried pickles and rattle snake bites which are fired cheese balls . The portion was good to share amongst 4 people. My wife ordered the BBQ chicken which she say was amazing . On the quest for dinner in this town presents challenges. See today is Monday and most of Plattsburgh is CLOSED on Mondays for dining at least. So we opted for Texas Roadhouse. After a short 15 minute wait, we are lead to our table with hot and moist rolls with a cinnamon butter. I'm sold already! Had a few minutes to review drink menu and food menu. We ordered Tater Skins which are potato wedges with cheese and bacon along with sour cream for dipping. Pretty standard starter but tasty. Then we ordered 8oz sirloin with Grilled Shrimp medium rare. Sides were mashed red potatoes, corn, Caesar salad. All sides were delicious and the salad was coated with just right amount of dressing. Crispy croutons made it a rather good option. Sweet tea with comp refills(yeah) and a Jamaican drink with a Patron shot was good but let's be real no alcohol content to be honest. Delightful server Karlee was busy but certainly attentive and got refills even without asking. So if your in town pony up to Road House Steakhouse for a decent meal. read more

His corn didn't seem to be buttered as advertised but... it's corn. My ribeye was also cooked correctly and was tender. I would have no problem coming back here just for the bread and butter...I don't know if I was just eating the bread to eat more and more of the maple butter, or if I was eating more and more of the maple butter just to eat the bread! Needless to say they were both absolutely phenomenal! It's also pretty awesome to be able to just throw your peanut shells anywhere you feel like (yes, they do provide a pail for the shells, but its use is widely frowned upon ha!)... If you want to sweat through your tee shirt and suffer heat exhaustion, stop in for a steak. My family happily made our way to Texas Roadhouse and were seated quickly. Things seemed a little warm when we entered, but we chalked it up to coming in from the cold. Hmmmm. As the sweat started to pour from my brow, I asked the server (Pre-drink order) if they could turn down the heat. The answer, yeah it's hot, and the thermostat is broke. As my kids cheeks turned cherry red, I asked a second time (could you open the door), third time (could you crack a window), and, wait for it, fourth time (can you please get the temp down)....the response..."they opened the front door, the thermostat has been broken for a few days and we can't control the heat...would you like some more bread?". Servers that couldn't care less. Yes, I'm sorry...how's the shrimp? I know, it's really bad...would you like more water? I peeled off layers of clothing and my ears turned bright red. My kids held their lemonades to their foreheads and complained for the next 45 minutes. Do you think you'd expect to see a five year old sweat through his shirt at a restaurant? Hmmmm. A five year old running the Boston marathon yes...or playing on a playground in August, yes, of course, that would make sense. Or the six year old who asked..is this what it's like in the desert Dad? Well, you answered that for him. Thank you for that. After 30 minutes, I eventually sweated through my tee shirt and two of my kids cried. It was over 90 degrees!!!! Lesson here Mr./Mrs. Manager, if you can't control the heat, and customers are breathing heavy, sweating profusely and complaining that it's hot...AND IT IS REALLY HOT...even though it's below freezing outside, DONT OPEN the restaurant. Oh not this place, something that's broke for days, nicely done. Ahhh, and how nice for me, my wife, four kids and my mother. How about a warning when you come in the door. Thank you! I'm glad I spent $121 here. Get a 16oz steak, leave dehydrated and lose 10 pounds. I've been in saunas that were cooler. We couldn't eat fast enough. Not a manager in sight. I left with SIX to go boxes from four meals...that's called...I'm near to passing out...we couldn't take it any longer and would rather leave food sitting on the table. Talk about quick to get outside, we left with no coats on and drove home (my kids were shirtless!!) with the windows DOWN!!! I finally could feel my face after an hour, and had the opportunity to change my underwear. Good god!! Thanks for the headache I have now from dehydration. Good job Texas Roadhouse!!! They even did their periodic line dance but the place was packed and hopping so there weren't as many hot waitresses dancing like is normally done. The loaded sweet potatoes are awesome and the fresh baked rolls with cinnamon butter is the best!
