We were told to call Texas Roadhouse an hour before to put our name on a waiting list, which was wait of 2 1/2 hours. The hostess was rude from the beginning when I got there. Bad attitude, told us to wait in our car or outside while others were waiting in the restaurant. She laughed behind our backs. Extremely immature! From 15 minutes it became 1/2 hour and when we went back in just to inquire she was extra Rude! Went last night before the SUNYAC men's hockey finals. Our group was over 25 people, so we'd called ahead well in advance and they made sure they'd not only have tables for us, but they offered everyone 10% off their food portion of their bill. When we arrived, they greeted us warmly and sat us at numerous tables. Service was excellent and fast. Although a chain restaurant, they hand carve the steaks in house and everything is cooked per order: you can even get your steaks cooked to only rare-that's how much faith they have in the quality of their meat. They're right. I've eaten at Ruth's Chris as well as other upscale steak houses and the steaks at Texas Roadhouse are as good if not better with prices well within reach of most families. I ordered the 8-ounce sirloin medium rare with Caesar salad and loaded baked potato. The steak was one of the most tender and juicy I've had in a very long time. The potato was almost the size of both my fists; it was huge. The manager came over to ensure we had enjoyed our meal and wanted to make sure we didn't need anything else. Although he was a fan of our biggest rival (the home team), he was most gracious in wishing us a great game. Great meal, service and atmosphere. Well worth the price. read more

This chain has sure value for steak and appetizers. I tried both the blossom (deep-fried onion) and rattlesnake bites. They were both very good and easy to share. The blossom is huge... For steak I would go with the cheaper USDA Prime Sirloin cut which is more lean and cooked-to-order than their ribeye. Any of the 6oz/8oz/11oz/16oz sizes come with two sides and are great bang for the buck. Medium-rare executed perfectly, pink in the middle and thin outer layer of cooked meat. Although there were some good smoking aroma, it was on the very salty side - I'm not sure whether it was the seasoning or the mushrooms and onions added on top. Very good beefy aftertaste. Sides aren't all "legendary" as TR claims (browse people's photos to see what they are). I've tasted the ribs and chicken as well - they were heavy on BBQ sauce and maybe a little above average from what you'd expect from a chain smokehouse. Go there for the big lean steaks! read more

We went there for dine in during COVID. Seating was fast and socially distant with text checking. The staff really made an effort to maintain social distance while still being friendly. Service was fast, and the food was delicious. The one exception was we got the fried pickles and is was too salty for us. (Which is why this is four stars and not five) They did take them back and struck them off the bill though. Everything else was great. A very good experience overall. read more

Wow. I don't know how this restaurant has such high ratings. The food is highschool cafeteria quality with steroid portions and prices. 8 of us dinned there last night. We all ordered something different. No one liked the food. That onion blossom appetizer which we all shared sat mostly untouched because it was an oil slick. Literally. The horseradish dipping sauce was tasty but we couldn't eat more then a bite or two each because it was so oily. Two different steaks were ordered and they were grissly, poor quality steaks at inflated prices. They did get the temps right on both but they were both very chewy and full of fat with tough bits. The shrimp dinner had a good portion of shrimp but it was so overcooked, chewy and salty. The "roadkill" was tough and the mushrooms were like salty rubber bands. The steak tips were chewy and the gravy was gloppy and salty. The grilled chicken was the only meal that was ok but super salty. Although the corn and green beans that were ordered with it were straight out of a can. The baked potatoes were fine but then again it's a potato.the chili that came as a side tasted like it was out of a can and the mashed potatoes were like spackle. The salads we're fine. They were cold and crisp. All-in-all this place is not worth what they charge and the food quality is horrible. Yes those little rolls we're good but we didn't go there for rolls. Service was great so that is why they get 2 vs 1 star. Oh, and we asked several times for them to remove the bucket of peanuts from our table. I consider myself a rib enthusiast, I've tried ribs from dozens of places and let me tell you these were the best ones! Very good portion, amazing, fall of the bone, not too vinegary or sweet. Have you every seen Diners, Drive-ins and Dives? When Guy eats something and sort of steps back, looks at the heavens, like he can't believe how good this food is. That was me. The fresh rolls with whipped cinnamon butter were to die for. We got the seasoned rice, chili, steak fries and cesar salad and side dishes. All very tasty. The service was amazing. We come up to this area about every 6/8 weeks and always stop in for at least one of our dinners. This is the first time we've ordered food to-go as we're not comfortable dining in just yet. We ordered two nights in a row and I have to say we're not very happy. Yesterday we didn't get rolls with our order, but we did get the butter. Tonight the burger that was ordered as medium, no lettuce, was cooked well done( and extremely salty) and had lettuce but no tomatoes and the fries had no seasoning. The rib eye that was supposed to be medium rare was so much on the rare side, it was still mooing. Very disappointed with take out. My family and I stayed at a hotel nearby while visiting Lake George and ordered takeout at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was my first time eating at this restaurant and it was a good experience - the servers had a great attitude over the phone and in person when we picked up our food. The food was ready when we arrived to pick up, and they also gave us free bread as well, which was a nice treat. The two stars is for the excellent food. I wish I could have handed my tip to the guy who perfectly cooked my meal because the wait staff was terrible. Got seated and was given a basket of 4 rolls for 7 people. Left to sit. Finally our waitress came and asked for drinks. This was the only time we were able to get anyone to bring us a drink or refill except towards the very end when we were able to flag her down. One person got a drink from the bar so they had to wait 45 minutes to get it. Our meal took over an hour and once it came we had no ketchup and we're almost done our meal before we could get any. Had to holler to the waitress and flag her down for refills, drinks, rolls etc. She never came back to the table on her own. The booths we sat in we're not connected to the floor so every time the people behind us moved, we moved. This poor customer service was also my experience at a TXRH in Ohio so I guess they don't train their waitstaff well. read more

Left Texas Roadhouse this evening without getting our food after arriving seated at 6:30 p.m and still no food at 7:55 p.m! When we first arrived we were seated right off, had our drink order and appetizer placed. We received our drinks and app within a reasonable time. Our five year old was getting impatient after a while asking, "When is our food coming out?" We checked the time and realized that it had been a while. A few minutes later our waitress stopped by to inform us that she forgot to put our food order in and that it was her fault. She asked if we could get us anything while we waited and that our food order was "a top priority". Never apologized for the mess up and walked away. As we were waiting we watched as more and more people kept getting their food order from our waitress. If our food order was "top priority" why is it that the couple we were sitting across the way and everyone around us was getting their food?! Some had just arrived half an hour prior from us already being there for a while. The manager finally came over and asked if we needed anything and that they will be discounting our food. Never received an apology from her either. I had to tell her that our five year old was getting very hungry and impatient can we get her food at least? This was a half hour after the waitress told us that our food was top priority and the kitchen was working on it. Bullshit!! They finally brought over our daughters food, which was the kids meal. They never even cut her steak into bites as it usually comes out. Her food arrived ten minutes after having to tell them she needed her food. Still waiting....it is now another ten minutes and still no food for my significant other and myself. The manager comes over with our discounted bill and I told her to cancel our meals that we are leaving and we shouldn't have to pay for anything since she didn't even eat her meal and for the long wait and inconvenience. She gave me an attitude and said well you never told me you wanted that as she rudely walked away from the table. If our waitress was really doing her job she would have noticed and checked to see how are food was coming along. Very disappointed by the food, service, and lack of empathy for our ruined night. The last time that we went to this establishment, about a year ago we picked out our hand cut steaks. They messed up and cooked the wrong ones. The waitress was honest and told us that the kitchen had messed up and told us how sorry she was for their screw up in the kitchen. We both told her, "We appreciate the honesty and apology, but it has nothing to do with you for the screw up. She finally bring out our steaks that we had picked out for the second time to find out it was still incorrect and not cooked properly. It was disgusting. So we paid for our meals that we didn't even eat. My significant other and I were just so done. We still left our waitress a great tip and a good night. This will be the very last time that we step foot in any Texas Roadhouse. I have no idea what happened to this restaurant but it is not worth it!! read more

Visited last night- Our server Kaitlyn was amazing. Very friendly and quick. She recommend a good appetizer and drink. However, the heat in there was turned so high that it was absolutely uncomfortable and miserable for our entire table and and we couldn't eat fast enough to get out of there. My salad had a hair in it, I ordered an 8oz NY Strip cooked medium but it came out more than well done and super dry. The rice tasted like it was cooked on the floor. We were at Texas Roadhouse 2 weeks ago. I am on a low sodium diet and we asked that they not salt the steak or food. It came out as ordered. We returned last night as we had some credit left on a gift card we had received. The restaurant was much busier. We asked for no salting again. This time, that did not happen. I would have given them a break for that as it was so busy. Our waitress, Kiera, brought the bill and I gave her a 20% cash tip. She ran the gift card through. They have a pay at your table screen. She offered to help run my credit card through that. My wife attempted to watch the screen. When it got to the tip line, she said we'll just put zero. Flipped the screen around and told my wife, just press here. My wife did and the screen disappeared. When I checked my credit statement today, I found that she had given herself a nice, 20% tip, making the tip an actual 40% tip with the cash and the charge she added. She got a nice tip, but lost the restaurant 2 customers. read more

It's your typical corporate owned restaurant where the menus are huge, there's pictures on the menus, and the bar menu is pretty much established already. I took one star away because of the constant annoying birthday celebrations, dancing waiters and waitresses and overall noise level that prevents a normal volume conversation to take place with someone sitting across from you. The wait staff is so amazing here. They are so friendly and our waiter gave us the best service. Our food was so good and it was the best steak I've ever had! I don't normally like the blooming onion thing but it was really good from here. The drinks didn't have much alcohol but eh for the price it was fine. The manager even came around and made sure everyone was enjoying their time. I really appreciated that, it made me feel very welcome. It's pretty good. The menu has a kind of small variety of food but it's all good. It's always very crowded and has too many tables so there's barely any room to move around. I've never been to Texas but if it smells anything like the employees at Texas Roadhouse... than I'm packing my bags! Wow! I'm hooked! The men and women who work at this establishment smell so phenomenal I cannot contain it! I have on numerous occasions been caught in the employee break room smelling the lockers and loose clothing items on the ground or on benches/hangers! Of course I've been removed by security a number of times, but that has not stopped me from coming back and taking HUGE whiffs of the waiters, hostesses and cooking staff when they're not looking, or on break! The restraining orders are apart of the thrill of smelling the back of one of the Texas Roadhouse Plattsburgh's employees necks when they least expect it! read more

One of the better places to eat at Plattsburgh. Salmon was amazing! You get all you can eat peanuts and rolls. They even give you a batch of rolls to take home and a bag of peanuts if its your first time going to them. The manager goes to each table to see if everything is up to par.
