Charged 200ish for a nightmare bday party. When we got there parking was horrible we had to park on the grass but sure places can be busy. When we went inside we could not walk or move. We had to shove through crowds of people to make it to our table. They had overbooked parties and had no room to safety move in the facility. They gave us a table that did not have enough seats or space. The people from the tables next to us would constantly hit each other if we moved, turned etc and we all had to stand. If there was an emergency that required an evacuation we would have surely died as there was no way to exit the building. I would NEVER go here again unless the layout, maximum people was addressed. If you book here you are wasting your money as the experience you are going to get is that of an unsafe concert. My guests were shocked , concerned and left early. Went to a birthday party here. Positives: aside from the bathroom, the place was clean.. music was good, skating was fun. Negatives: bathroom was disgusting and reeked of urine, concessions were WAY over priced, and I waited at the counter forever before anyone helped me. The birthday party I attended was from 12:00-1:30 and at 1:20, our party person rushed us off of our table so they could get it ready for the next party.. which didn't start until 3:00! The kids had fun skating and we're oblivious to the troubles that faced the adults and that is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. read more

This place is full of chaos. The only good thing about this place is the rink and the music... and if I had a wishlist, the rink would have sides all around for the kiddos to hold onto. You can only walk around two sides... the rest are walls. I had to wait in a huge line to get an overpriced soda. Only one kid was working. I had to wait in line to rent skates. Only one kid was working. I wanted to purchase some of the novelty items for my kids, but NO ONE was working the counter. I waited for ten minutes and even asked two staff before giving up. I guess they didn't want my money. On top of that, the trainers arr overpriced and someone took it before we were done. I was not impressed with this place and will unlikely be back. read more

We were here for my step sons birthday party. The staff was attentive and took care of us well. The decor inside is a little dated and worn. They have some vending machines and game when you want to rest your feet from skating The rink itself is great along with the music and light show. We will consider have another birthday party here. There is space for three at once and they have a large parking lot. So go get your skate on! read more

Just had my daughter's 5th birthday @texasSkatium & I have to admit it was by far my favorite party we have thrown her! From start to finish everyone was so accommodating and we had the 2 rooms for ourselves! The party room and the bounce house room! (I think it depends on availability) we got very fortunate! Our host was super accommodating & attentive. He helped with food, drinks, bringing the gifts to the car, and helped with the party! After the kids bounced in the bounce room, they ate pizza, ice cream, & cake, and then we finished it off with skating! They even dedicated a song for her and dimmed the lights which made it extra special! We also didn't worry about cleaning up which was awesome!! Texas Statium is 5**** Great place for birthdays and any occasion! When I first book I had a lot of questions and couldn't decide of what I wanted but the lady at the front desk was patient! 2016 Yelp 100 Challenge Review #40 My, my, my! I forgot how fun it was to skate! It had been decades since I have been skating. I recently went with my niece and nephews and it was probably more of a blast for me than them. I did not want to leave lol. Check in was easy enough. I believe they have $1.99 Wednesdays which is awesome! I like that they have skate mates for those little ones that are less confident. I also like that the middle of the skating rink is coned off for those who need a slower, safer area to gain confidence. They have another attraction in the back that I am sure is a separate cost - maybe a bounce house type course. It looked cool. They have a big screen TV that plays with the music. The floor was nice and well-maintained. The food cafe was sufficient offering stadium type menu items. I think there were a few arcade games at the front too. They have tables everywhere. All in all, I was very pleased with the visit. The faster skaters were polite and often were seen helping the kids who fell down. I also liked that the kiddos with the Skate Mates were not relegated to the middle and could skate freely without fear of being run over. The only thing that I would've liked is for them to change directions once ina while. For old people, lol, it wears on your body to keep going in the same direction. Those turns wore my left side out. But I love it and they played good music. Highly recommended! read more

Ok this is my first review and I think that y'all are being unfair to the employees at the rink because y'all said there is not enough space and it's too dirty.Well I stay every Friday and Saturday and help them clean and they make sure that the rink is as clean as they can make it and also they do have enough space because they can fit eight parties and more than fifty people and they were all able to sit AND they have amazing birthday staff that make sure that they can do everything that the customer needs (as long as they are able to do it) and make sure that they are nice to the customer and they put in a lot of work into making sure that they have everything they need for the day and never stop working and make sure that your kids are safe on the floor.So if want to spend time with your kids,have fun,eat and play games I suggest that you go to Texas Skatium. read more

I didn't think I would have such a good time but I definitely did! I felt nostalgic and went on a fun date night. It's about $10 per person on a Saturday night (including skates) which seems very reasonable! we stayed for a couple of hours skating and having a blast. Loved this rink! I hadn't been to a rink in several years and was skeptical reading reviews about some that were run down. I was pleasantly surprised at Texas Skatium. Staff was friendly and helpful. The staff was nice except for one guy who was sarcastic to everyone in are group that went. The reasons I gave this place 3 stars was because the shoes where in decent condition, the bathrooms were clean and the people working there except one actually felt like they liked working there. Now the pitiful part, why I gave them three stars and not one more is because if you want to request a song you might as well not because the Dj working there would say, "I'll think about it." Don't hold your breath on hearing your song because they won't play it. The whole "vibe" there was bad. I couldn't find myself feeling the music but rather annoyed by unpopular songs. I would go here with your kids for them to learn to skate, but if your wanting to party with some friends and dance to slow songs with your girl it won't happen. Overpriced, we paid $330 for my daughter to have a Glow Party, we received a private room, a glow spork, a glow cup and glow necklace for every child, and that was it. We brought our own cake, skated for 45 minutes and then we left. In the end, it was not worth the money. We were not even given water, we had to pay extra. We did not have a party host, it seemed very unorganized. It was not worth the money. read more

If you want to just come and skate this place is perfect, not very many skating rinks in the area and this one is one of the better ones, I have not tried the one in Mesquite might after this birthday party experience. If you are looking to book a party with a friendly, helpful Host and to get your money's worth, go somewhere else. I spent more than 300.00 dollars and the host acted like she wanted to be anywhere but where she was. The kids didn't notice and had a blast, however those of us paying for the party thought it could have been much better for the money we paid. read more

It is a great place to enjoy yourself and relax. I love it when they do skating races and limbo, it was very fun. They also did a smoke effect and different type of music that 's not inappropriate. The owner was really nice to everyone and we had a great time. I wouldn't know if the place was great when it's open to public or not because we rented it out for the kids to relax before the STAAR. Let me preface by saying that I am an avid roller skater and will do anything to support a local skating rink. I will always go out of my way to support roller skating rinks as they are a positive for the community, kids and families. I have managed a skating rink. Worked as a DJ at another not to mention a regular session skater and speed skating competitor. Please take this as constructive criticism. The good...clean rink, families seemed to be having a good time as well as a skating floor that's taken care of. Did a good job with the birthday parties and the kids had a good time. My criticism is...the sound system needs to be tinkered with to improve the sound of the music as well as the DJ making announcements. 2. When doing a game like red light green light do more tricks so that people have to be sent back to the wall, it makes it more fun . Counting 1..2...3 after saying red light will help with the game flow. Also, when playing a game it is terribly annoying and unprofessional from someone in the snack bar announcing a party is ready. It disrupts the game. That should be left to the DJ unless he's not in his stand. 3. When a customer has a 2 for one admission coupon via the Entertainment app on the phone please have the person taking money at the front window know what coupons are accepted and in which form. I was initially told that it needed to be printed. The purpose of an app is to save paper and ink. If a business subscribes to discounts via Entertainment. Groupon, etc. ALL employees need to be trained and the benefit of the doubt should be given to the customer within reason. A manager type lady eventually rectified the situation and accepted it. However no apology was really given and to tell you the truth somewhat ruined my experience. I would have given more stars if this small thing was handled better. In my opinion, the coupons are to build loyalty and to encourage people to try your business. Remember first impressions are sometimes the only impression. Keep in mind there are a lot of options for family recreation and entertainment so being on top of customer service should be number one. I have a passion for skating and would have loved to give a 5 star. I have over 40 years roller skating in some capacity so I know what I'm talking about. Training could take care of 90 percent of my issues. I came from out of state over 2000 miles away but I go home disappointed. read more

Absolutely not. The "have" rules but enforce none. Kids constantly skate in the food areas with the walkers. Kids running into the tables and people. I had to tell the same kid 3 separate times to go to the rink with the walker...almost got into fist-fight with the non-parents. The employees do not control the area at all. Waste of money and time. Although my daughterand her friends had a good time, I as a mother was disappointed, and frankly very disgusted at some of the things I saw. Young teen girls with hardley any clothes on making out with boy and eachother. Most of these kids were not even skating, they stood around in hords blocking the walkways cussing and disrespecting people trying to walk through. You would think that the owner would want to cater to his PAYING customers and do something about this issue. This is supposed to be a family place, but are these the kinds of things we really want are young children to see? When I tried approaching the owner about this issue and he quickly brushed me off only stating that he could not be a parent to all of those kids. While that is true, he could do more to try to rid the problem. Set I dress code or something, don't let those kids in with out parents or an adult, something. This is not a place I want to have my young children. read more

Had a Adult skate party and it was awesome! Wife wanted to go skating and didnt want little kids all over the place. We were able to take our own drinks, have music on request, and play all sorts of games. If you ever want a private party where its all about having a good time, this is it! I recently held a small birthday party for my child and about 12 of her friends. We opted to do the Bounce party and it was incredible! The staff is extremely helpful; they handle every single aspect of the birthday party. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism of the party host.
