We loved our family outing to Texas Skatium over the weekend. Friendly service, clean establishment, and a great place for skating--it was our first time, and we will certainly be back. There were only two things I would suggest ... add another concession stand (out of the way of the entrance), and two, make more arcade games available for those who aren't having a birthday party. If you're looking for fun in the area or, like us, don't live close, this place is still worth the drive. read more

Such a gem! For under 10 dollars a person (with your own skates) you can skate all you want here. The facility was super nostalgic for my 90s childhood. The floor was well maintained and smooth for skating. The giant disco ball here and lights added to the experience. We found it to be perfect for skating too as far as not being too crowded on the skating floor! This place is fun for kids and adults alike! We have been looking for a good place to skate in DFW, and recommend Texas Skatium. The expanded summer hours are really helpful too! read more

I never realized how much fun I had as a teen coming to the skating ring in my middle school years. I can now say I found that same fun here 20+ years later with my own little ones. We had a blast! They have tons of walkers for the littles to practice and a great mix of oldies. We will definitely be back sooner than later. read more

This is what you get when you have kids manage a business. We paid $60 for me and my family to skate and before we had one trip around the rink, I told everybody to get off the rink because they were letting kids race. When I complained, the manager sat silent in the same room and didn't identify herself. And while everybody is off the rink, there's not even enough places for everyone to sit down. Pretty huge and clean skating rink. I will say tho, for those that don't know how to skate it is the perfect place. I went on a Sunday and was slightly shocked the A. Amount of kids there and B. That about 95 percent of the ENTIRE place of kids and adults could literally not skate AT ALL. The amount of skate mates on the floor looked like a bunch of walkers! And I loved it! Well, maybe not the sound of earth shattering falls ever 2 mins. But it was super fun none the less. SEVERE LIFE THREATENING PEANUT ALLERGY: Parents think twice before booking your child's birthday party and inviting friends. They are not helpful in finding solutions to accommodate life threatening conditions. My son has been invited to his best friends birthday party. Both myself and friends mom called to work with this venue to provide safe eating for my child. The manager was extremely rude. Told me I've been dealing with this for 9 years I should know what he can and can't eat, when I asked her about what items they have in their kitchen. I asked if they could produce food labels since they will not let me bring in outdoor food, and she said they could not for the pizza. Continued to tell us both, me and my kiddos friend's mom, they had gluten free pizza (not the same as peanuts) I have never had such a difficult experience trying up explain the severity of my sons allergy and how I can safely allow my son to participate in his friend's birthday party. They have held strong not to allow him any outside food...or just one slice of pizza for that matter...and don't save the necessary means for parents to educate themselves prior to purchasing food from their facility. Strike and Reel, Shenanigan's, Boulder, Urban Air are all places that worked with me to provide a safe environment for my child. read more

This is definitely the better of the two skating rinks in the Dallas area. It's clean, well-maintained, and the price is reasonable. It's nice that you can rent skates or rollerblades, and that the DJs are involved with the skaters instead of setting up a playlist and leaving it at that. Prices for skating is very reasonable, but way understaffed for Christmas break! 1 cashier handling all the food orders by herself and she looked pretty tired. Maybe 16 years old and ran her butt off. Leaving around 2 pm mentioned to the office employees that some tables/floors needing cleaned and swept, they looked at me like I was an idiot and totally ignored me. 4-5 employees just sitting around not doing anything. Fun place but it's time for a renovation. It's very dated compared to other up and coming projects and locations.

Hadn't been to this place since I was a teen. Had the privilege of taking my daughter for a birthday party and it's so crowded people everywhere you have to shimmy your way to get to where you want to go. Seems like there was more room on the skating floor. Definitely have to plan there parties better. they do have a bounce room now something they didn't have before for the younger kids who won't skate. read more

This review is from Renting the faciltiy entirely for an event. Demi was our main contact and she was amazing, made everything clear, followed up on contacting me for the contractual obligations. The rink was very clean for our event. The rate for the rental was reasonable when i compared with the other rinks. The staff was really good as well, standouts was Josh, who was invaluable in helping us get our sound equipment up and running in the 30 minutes we had to start the event. Overall, excellent place to rent and skate. IF I can get them to allow their system to play slightly louder I may not have to bring my sounds....LOL All in All, Enjoyed the venue and staff and We will most likely rent the venue out again. read more

From booking the party months ago to attending last night it was a great experience with Randy and the rest of the crew at Texas Skatium. The rink was clean and they're so well organized and the staff did a great job running the food concession stand and doing games with us throughout the two hour private party for our Girl Scout troop. Unbelievably terrible experience, mainly because of the incredibly disrespectful manager. Birthday party tables much too close together. People bumping into each other constantly, making it very dangerous as so many are amateurs navigating roller skates for the first time. Our "host" came by our table one time during our 1.5 hour party and was not present at the party end time. We were then harassed by the manager by phone and email. I've never received such accusatory, condescending, and unprofessional correspondence. We were accused of walking out on our bill which we were unable to pay with a nonexistent and never present "host". We assumed incorrectly that Texas Skatium would simply invoice us for the remaining balance on our bill. They are apparently operating without a current system that could simply run a credit card, receive money thru Zelle or Venmo, Apple Pay etc. We were told that if we did not return within 2 hours to pay in person, we would be turned into the POLICE. We requested to pay the balance the following day, no allowance made. The manager was as unprofessional a person I have ever encountered. I am appalled that someone of this low caliber could be in a management role ANYWHERE. He ruined our son's birthday by his unacceptable behavior. Do not go to Texas Skatium. Do not support this type of vile behavior. Go elsewhere. read more

I really enjoyed my little afternoon skate date here! Came with my boyfriend and younger cousins, and we had a good time skating laps and watching the different skating breaks, like the races and fast skating or even the birthday dance skate breaks. We all enjoyed a pretty tasty and affordable pizza from the concessions stand. Our medium sized soda was on the smaller end, and I immediately wished I bought a large sized soda. Skate rentals were very affordable and the staff was friendly and helpful -- they had to deal with me when I got my skates changed 5 different times since I apparently don't know the size of my feet. A cousin that didn't want to skate came in for free and just watched. We rented a nice little skate mate for my other younger cousin who wasn't as confident in skating just yet. Crowd was a good mix of small children, older children, young adults and older adults. Music was pretty family friendly and covered a wide range of years, all mostly pop and some hip-hop/R&B hits. Very disappointed with this place. I was really excited about going. They have a very strict no outside and food and drink policy unless you pay more money for a private party room. 11 kids party package plus pizza are being paid for, so they are already making money off every child including mine. My son doesn't eat dairy or gluten so he can't eat the pizza. I always bring a vegan GF personal pizza for him, small and discreet so this is a first. I've never seen a place not allow this. Every place my child has been to for a party in the past years when speaking to management they have allowed the exception because they can't accommodate the need. They just always ask for discretion when doing so.. It would be different if they had a vegan gluten friendly option but that's not the case., so the least they can do is allow for me to get something for him.So their recommendation is to book a private room (which I can't clearly do that it's not my party he's just a guest), or they said they can allow for him to leave and go eat in the car and come back. I'm thinking how this would be having my 3 year old eat in the car while his cousins and friends sit at the table and eat. I get they want to make money but would think the customer service is more important and not signaling a toddler out would also be more important. My heart just sinks that he's going to have to deal with this. This is not a good look for them. I'm highly disappointed. It's already paid for so there's nothing we can do about it. read more

If you are wearing a mask and trying to maintain social distance standards, don't bother. They have a sign on the door but aren't enforcing the mask mandate at all. There were roughly 60 people there and maybe 10 people had on masks. A few employees were even forgoing masks. If you care about the mask mandate, stay away. read more

Came here for a 4 year old bday party. I would definitely NOT recommend this place for a party. 1. There's no place for adults to sit. There are 15 tables folded up but they "can't" unfold them for people to just sit at. The older people are miserable. 2. If your younger child that hasn't skated wants to but may need help make sure you bring extra money to pay for the "SkateMate". I understand business but is it really necessary to charge $4.00 for a child to have fun? On top of that one of the wheels was bent and didn't roll.
