Well, that is when I was told "NO" additional lenses adjustments would be made, with no explanation. I was completely taken aback. I paid out of pocket $1800, since they would not file the VSP insurance for these lenses that I can now no longer use.

I don't know if they've recently taken over the office. Regardless, they are to the right of the Vision Works glasses and contacts retailer. The office staff was not extremely outgoing that day, but it sounded like someone had called in, so perhaps they were in a mood because of it. Dr. Ho first struck me as being doubtful of what I was telling her about my eyes, which was odd. Quite frankly, it almost made me want to leave. She finally seemed convinced after completing my exam. Again, I'm not sure if the vibe was just off there that day or what. My exam was fine. There is one thing I am really annoyed about and it's that I specifically said I needed a detailed receipt to provide to my FSA provider and they never sent one. I know they have my email correct in their system because I received their reminder emails about my appointment. I don't understand why don't doctor's offices find this concept difficult to understand. I don't like having to call to ask again.

I was able to get an appointment the same week that I scheduled it. They took care of my insurance. I told them my husband was my primary and they simply copied all of the insurance information over from his file to mine so that I didn't have to spend so much time digging up and giving this info in the phone or in person. They did scan my driver's license, which made me feel uncomfortable, but I do understand their need for personal verification. They had digital equipment that was able to scan my eye without needing to be dilated. Technology is amazing now! The doctor was willing to work with me and my unusual stigma. After trying for sometime to find the right focus, she actually gave me control of the wheel and said spin and focus it until I felt it was good. I really appreciated the help and the empowerment. She also explained that my eye might not ever have the standard of vision I hoped for because of the stigma. Armed with that knowledge, I could relax knowing there was nothing more that could be done at this time. There were no high-pressure eyeglass sales. They are all about giving you an eye appointment, and that's just what they did. I was so thankful for this. I will definitely be back next year if my insurance still works here.

Switalski Eye Care's staff is unhelpful and defensive when patients question their charges. Instead…read moreof verifying the charges, they became defensive and didn't bother to contact VSP. Despite my paying the full amount they asked for, they were still uncooperative and sent my trial lenses to me instead of calling to inform me of their arrival. This passive-aggressive act wasted my time. Along with the trial lenses the delivery also included a letter stating that I was being released from their care due to my arguing with them over their charges. The eye doctor recommended Bausch and Lomb lenses over the Coopervision contacts I'd been wearing since 2019. After trying both, I bought the B&L lenses, as they seemed to help my eyes refocus more quickly. However, a month later, the B&L lenses started causing a lot of eye irritation. Initially, I thought it was a problem with all the pollen flying around at the time. After a few weeks, I realized it was the B&L contact lenses what were the problem. I remembered that I had kept the Coopervision trial lenses. I made sure they were cleaned and disinfected. I wore them the next morning. There was no irritation. I wore them about 18 hours before removing them that night. They worked perfectly the whole time. I emailed Switalski about the problem, but received no response. I tried calling, but I was only able to reach an answering service. They transferred me to the clinic, but no one picked up. I called back a while later, and insisted on speaking to someone at Switalski, but they refused to take my call. Later, I received a prescription for Coopervision lenses in my email. They totally ignored the email I had sent them 2 days before explaining the problem. I told them that Eyeconic, the lens seller, would only exchange the lenses if I gave them a letter from the eye doctor. Switalski refused to provide the letter, stating that, "our office cannot issue a medical statement that contradicts our clinical documentation from January". Really? The documentation is so sacred that they can't update it with new information about the patient's condition? That's ridiculous and incompetent. They have totally refused to talk to me. I'm working on resetting my VSP benefit to buy Coopervision lenses again. My goal now is to make Switalski lose business. They are incompetent. DON'T GO THERE!

Upon arrival, I was told the time had been changed without proper notification, and they couldn't accommodate me because the owner or doctor wasn't there for religious reasons. While I respect personal beliefs, failing to inform clients in advance is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of regard for people's time. I hope no one else has to go through this--better to take your business elsewhere.

I reconfirmed with my insurance to make certain my agent correctly identified them as in-network. I waited over an hour for them to clarify my insurance. They only indicated that the doctor that was available the day I arrived was out of network. They did not ask if I had supplemental insurance. They did not confirm if I had an eye emergency. Last, they perform vision correction services, but the office is not ADA accessible. The general area has disability parking, yet there are no automatic doors or wheelchair accessible ADA management tools for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and Lasik vision services require additional safety for patients when you offer these services. This was unacceptable. The office was empty. No patients. I calmly had to cancel my appointment and left.

I didn't have to wait. I was brought back to begin the tests as soon as I finished on the tablet. Everyone was so friendly, gentle and knowledgeable. The office and equipment were modern and clean. Dr. Gunturi really listened to my concerns and offered solutions. She is very cheerful and personable. Afterwards I was given an itemized receipt for my flex spending in addition to a visit overview and my new prescriptions. I definitely recommend them!

After we left I noticed they charged us $170 for me and my husband. That's a scam. These receptionist should be trained properly. The doctor herself was very nice. While it was true that my previous review was a 5 star experience, seeing the difference makes me wish I could give this current staff 7 stars! Everyone was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful! They helped me figure out the best use of my insurance without me even asking. They took an allergy of mine very seriously and were so careful. As someone with a lifetime experience of bad vision and migraines for the past 10 years, I get so anxious for these tests. I worry I might not notice a migraine coming on and end up with the wrong prescription. However, these tests were so high tech that they were easy and very fast. Thank God the days of dilation lasting hours (for my specific eyes) are long gone! I'm not certain of the exact size of the staff, but the 3 women I dealt with for the front office, both on the phone and in person, were all amazing- I wish every medical staff was like this. Dr. Gonzales is literally the best eye doctor I've ever met. She has an excellent bedside manner, does an wonderful job explaining things and I've never felt so comfortable during that cursed better/worse exam, lol. Other doctors have made me feel like my eyes were in terrible shape and my concerns were unheard. Dr. Gonzales gave me peace of mind and useful direction.
