Working with Texas Turf was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They had to haul out a ton of gravel on both sides of my driveway, grade, and replace with artificial turf. They sent 5 or 6 workers to do the job, and what I though would take days took one full day. They had to cut around pavers which they did expertly. The foreman and workers were very friendly, even helping corral my puppy when she ran out of the back yard. They laid the grass, applied some type of substance and then vacuumed the entire area. We had turf in Arizona. The company that we used in Arizona was outstanding. We had the turf for 15 years and it looked the same as the first day it was installed. It never came apart, never had weeds, seams never came apart. We were expecting the same type of excellent install and product here in Texas. We received the exact opposite. The Arizona install we had seven different layers of gravel and rock. The Texas headstall they laid down 2 inches of sand and then put the turf on top of it. Arizona install they put weed barrier down. The Texas install just sand and turf. After it being installed for one week we had all kinds of weeds pushing up through the turf. We called this company and asked them what type of weed barrier they used. They told us they never use weed barrier. Their recommendation was to spray the turf with weed spray from Home Depot. Seriously! We strongly recommend you do not use this company! They have not offered to fix the seams that are coming apart. They keep telling us to spray the turf with weed spray. We paid over $10,000 for this little patch of turf that now looks terrible after only six months. read more

I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the outcome of our Smarturf installation. I think the photos almost speak for themselves. When we moved in our home, we installed real grass, which didn't take, likely due to shade and drainage issues. Since then, we've had an uninviting dirt pit of a backyard that we rarely used. With the new turf, it feels like a new home. The kids are so happy. We feel comfortable letting them play outside. While artificial turf is a fairly pricey endeavor no matter who you use, it's definitely worth every penny. The overall process and dealing with Smarturf was very easy and pleasant. They were extremely patient with my indecision, and even accommodated my last minute change of mind, by sending for more turf the day of installation. Our first experience with Texas Turf was great! Allison was the sales person we dealt with and she was great! The install process went well and the guys did an awesome job! After trying to contact them to come back out as we are having issues AGAIN with an area that both Troy and Stefan are both aware of as they have been to our house multiple times and fixed the area once. I left a message with Stefan on August 17th 2021 and no call back, it is now September 15th 2021. I then called the main number and Daniel answered on September 8th, 2021 and he said he was going to relay the message to Stefan and still no call back. I get the company is busy but a return call to let me know that they received it and will get back with me on when they can come out etc. would have been great than not receiving a call back at all. read more

We had been dealing with no grass growing in our backyard due to the amount of oak trees we have. No grass growing led to unwanted muddy dog paws and an unattractive backyard. Smart turf was able to remedy that by giving us a eternal green backyard, no muddy paws, and easy doggy mess pick up! Plus, less on the water bill! We wanted the install before Thanksgiving which was a tight squeeze from when we go the initial quote, but Mike made it happen and just before a wet cold front came through! The artificial turf is extremely sturdy with our 3 very active (2 being over 50 lbs) dogs and equally active children. I'm tardy in writing this review, as we had our turf installed in August of 2019. I'm of the type to do meticulous research before pulling the trigger on something. In the case of turf, the most important thing is of course the quality of the turf itself. After several months of research, ordering samples directly from manufacturers and pouring over technical details, my opinion was formed. In my view, Go Green is the best synthetic turf in the world. It just so happens that the only company in Austin that installs Go Green is Smarturf. While it is true that I found this company in reverse, I really lucked out. They were incredible throughout, from the pre-consults through today. Their pricing is very fair. They were extremely easy to work with and were willing to coordinate seamlessly with the other landscaping I had going on at the same time. I even had to move the install date on them a few times while the rest of the plan was lagging, and they were extremely flexible with me. They were able to complete my entire job in one day due in no small part to all of their advanced planning. A piece of the turf was damaged upon arrival, and they had it replaced within a week. Afterwards, they have been great in following up to make sure everything is still good. I cannot imagine using any other company or product for a turf project. I worked mostly with Stefan and Allison, and really enjoyed getting to know them. My advice: stop the research because I've done it all; go with Smarturf! read more

I was looking to replace real turf situated around our pool. The real stuff never really grew well, bald spots, mud and weeds took over. I researched synthetic turf here in Austin and found multiple vendors. Some offered the same turf, others different. All very expensive and most within 1000 or less of each other. The deal maker was going to be the best product, installed skillfully at the best price. Smart turf was one (from 7 interviewed) that had multiple products from different suppliers all at varying prices. I thought that the product I selected from them was the softest product sampled (and not the cheapest either). I had some special requests having to do with installation and they were able to accommodate my requests (to be honest, all the final vendors selected were able to accommodate the requests but not all offered this product). Installation took one day. The product looked fantastic! Way better than the real thing and it stays good looking year round. Its as soft as the real thing, even better to walk on as you are not tracking dirt and grass inside with you! There were adjustments needed and I called Smarturf twice now to come out to address those issues. No problem getting them to come over to fix an issue. To be honest this product is very expensive and I wish I could have replaced all real grassy areas with this synthetic turf but, trust me, this stuff looks and feels great!
