I will start off by saying I am a first responder so I am extremely picky and very protective when it comes to my children. If I didn't have total confidence in ALFK Academy I would not be leaving this review or entrusting them with my child's care and education. When we moved to the area a year and a half ago we needed to find child care/early education for our youngest. We searched around the Sherman/Denison area and zeroed in on ALFK Academy after checking with other centers because of their focus on teaching children in a Christ centered atmosphere. The class sizes are great and allow for more one-on-one time if needed. The entire staff is wonderful and communicate with us on a daily basis whether at drop off or pick up, or via phone if there is a need to do so. My son is excited every morning to go to school and see his teachers and friends. Sometimes he can be quite a handful, but the staff know exactly how to bring him down a level in a calm and caring manner and have done a wonderful job in helping us prepare him for kindergarten. In fact, he is at a higher level now than our other children were at the same time in their lives, and I have no doubt it is due to the curriculum and teachers he has at ALFK Academy. I really could go on and on regarding the positives of ALFK Academy, but I worry this could become so long many won't read the entire review and just keep scrolling, so I will close by saying.... If you are looking for a Christ centered education and child care that is very affordable in these often difficult economic times, a place that takes wonderful care of your child, has top notch audio/visual security and secure check-in/check-out, and a wonderful staff that TRULY cares about each child under their care then stop in or give them a call.

She knows all kids and parents by name. I chose this center because of location. It is directly across from my job so we get to spend our commute together instead of me rushing to get to a center close to home by 6pm. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone. My 4 year old son has learned so much since he started. He learned his colors in Spanish, the months of the year, how to spell words, he is learning to write. They are teaching him things I never would have thought to teach him. He is also socializing and having fun. They also go outside which is a big plus. Until he starts school he will be here and I couldn't be happier.

She is very enthusiastic, bright and loving with families and children. Ms. Star's teachers are just as motivated and caring as she is about the children and helping families transition into this new space. The teachers keep me well informed about what is happening throughout the day with both of my children and they also accept my mid day calls to check in on my children if they are having a tough day. My 5yr old completed the Prek program and the center gave them a beautiful graduation ceremony and party. Both my 5yr old and 3yr enjoyed many fun and exciting activities to include splash day, Kona ice fridays, obstacle course and Lego party's during there summer program. My 5yr old has autism and has transitioned to Kindergarten great due to the education received from kindercare. Im so glad that I choose the McKinney kindercare facility and Ms. Star to provide my children with the care, support, acceptance, love, and education that they needed during our transition.

When I drop her off at school in the morning she always talks about how she misses certain friends or how she wants to see her old teacher, Ms. Paulette. She is Autistic so getting clear communication from her can be a struggle at times.When she began, she didn't play well with others and often would get rather upset at sudden change. Now she has patience, and seeks out other friends to play with and it warms my heart because i know that all happened at Kindercare. I only wish she could have stayed long enough to get into Ms. Devitas and Ms. Cathys room so she could follow her friends as they grew on their own journeys to excellence.

Within two weeks of her being enrolled, she was bit up by ants , over 20 bites. After another week, there was no director, no assistant director, barely any teachers. Classrooms were closed due to the reduced staff. Parents rushing to get there kids to school at the crack of down to ensure they had childcare in order to work that day. It was legit a MADHOUSE. With no other options, I relentlessly still brought my baby here. I was in the process of changing schools, but Ashley McFarland arrived. We had multiply discussions on what was making me unhappy, what she could do to make me feel better of my choice of school. She asked for me to try her out for a few weeks. Let me tell you, I AM SO HAPPY I STUCK AROUND. The center has done a complete 360! It's now organized, daily pictures & communication of how my daughter is doing. My baby RUNS into the daycare daily, ready to start her day with her teachers & friends. Ashley is an amazing individual who has built (still building) a team that love and care for my child as if she's their own.
