They are closed 12 days out of the year (Thanksgiving =2 days and Christmas = 3 days) with several additional early release dates where they close at 3pm. On top of that, every year they hike rates and registration fees. Traditionally the older the child gets the cheaper the tuition.. NOT HERE. Yes, you pay everyday they close their doors and you will need to use your PTO as well. Also, they reduced the sibling discount from 10% to 5%. What happened to dependable affordable child care?!

I picked my child up today only to hear her screaming at him through the door. I arrived early to pick him up. As I approached the classroom door I heard her yelling at him to go to sleep calling him a baby and telling him he needs to go to the baby room since he won't sleep. My son was crying telling her he didn't want to go to the baby room saying "I'm a big boy". This was not a stern or firm teacher voice, this was screaming and berating my son in front of his classmates during their nap time. My son should not have had to go through that, the other children in the class should not have had to hear that. As a former teacher myself this is NO WAY in which to speak to a child, especially for not napping. This "teacher" does not deserve the title and should not be working with children. Once she came to the door, her tone completely changed, she became extremely soft spoken and sweet. The hypocrisy was ridiculous. I mentioned the experience to the front staff as the director of the school was not there. They apologized.

If you read the one-star reviews, you'll notice a common theme: poor treatment of children. As…read moreparents, we diligently research daycares and carefully place our children at a childcare facility where we think that they will be loved and cared for. As such, I decided to write about my child's experience because I would never want any parent to experience the pain and frustration that my husband and I experienced. Our child attended Pinnacle Montessori of Frisco from three months old until our child was 16 months. The month before we withdrew our child, we expressed our concerns to the director regarding whether they were communicating our child's medical information to every person who cared for our child, as well as our frustration regarding the fact that, for two days in a row, two different jackets were unable to be located when we picked up our child. After this complaint, our child started receiving negative behavior comments frequently. To put things into context, our child received their first negative report ever on the same day that we notified the teacher of the missing jacket (i.e., the day before our complaint). Thereafter, our child typically received several negative reports each WEEK. Our child was 15 months old at the time. We met with our child's primary teacher to discuss our concerns regarding the frequency and the nature of the negative reports. We were told that the reports weren't meant to suggest that our child was doing something bad, they were more so to let parents know how their child's day went. A few days after this meeting, the director stopped me on my way out the door after dropping my child off and informed me that if my 15-month-old child continued to receive negative reports for the next three months, then maybe my child is communicating that Montessori is not for them. I took this as a thinly-veiled threat to kick my 15-month-old child out based on frequent "negative" reports that coincidentally started occurring after my complaint. Of course, this direct contradiction regarding the intention behind the reports resulted in us having a meeting with the director and the teacher. At the meeting, the director informed my husband and me that we were "too sensitive" and that she had no reason to have a problem with our child because we pay on time each month, and the teachers have never had a problem with us. This was jarring to us because no childcare facility should differ the level of care and treatment that they provide to a child based upon the child's parents' ability to pay on time. After this meeting, things went from bad to worse. Our child came home with a diaper rash that was so severe that it required a medical prescription and for our child to stay home an entire week. We sent our child to this facility for only three more days after the diaper rash healed. On the third day, our child was sent home without a shirt on. When we asked the front desk why our child's shirt was not on our child's body, they informed us that our child spilled water on the shirt, and they didn't have a backup shirt. They did not even bother to notify us to let us know our child needed a shirt. Had they cared enough for our child to notify us, we could have immediately resolved the issue that day. Needless to say, that was our child's last day. I hope any parent of a prospective attendee finds my review helpful. For any parent whose child still attends this facility, you may want to pay close attention to how your child is being treated, especially if (i) you don't pay on time or (ii) you have ever complained to the staff/director.

Mrs Guerra and Ms Cristina are the lead teachers for our 4 year old and 2 year old respectively. They go above and beyond making sure our kids had a seamless transition to their new environment. They treat our kids as if they were kids of their own and that makes us feel so good! We see the growth in our kids, and a major reason is because of their teachers. The incident was reported to the director, but the only action taken appears to have been filing a report and moving her to another classroom. At four years old, my niece is fully capable of communicating what happened to her, and the physical marks supported her statement. Despite this, the teacher is still employed at the school. We were also informed that the cameras are only monitored live and do not record footage, which raises serious concerns regarding accountability and student safety. As a parent or family member, this situation is extremely disturbing. I would not recommend this daycare based on how this matter was handled. I believe incidents involving allegations of physical harm toward a child should be taken far more seriously and investigated thoroughly. I intend to follow up with the appropriate state agencies to request a formal inspection and review of this facility. No child should ever feel unsafe in a learning environment, and no teacher accused of inappropriate physical conduct should remain in the classroom without a proper investigation.

She started off in toddler where her teacher Ms. Nunu worked we us to get her potty trained! All of the teacher are great and loving ! I can't say enough good things about this daycare. From the very first day, the staff made my children feel welcomed, safe, and cared for. They treat the kids like family, and it shows in how happy and excited my little ones are to go every morning. The teachers are patient, loving, and truly dedicated to helping the kids learn and grow. I've noticed so much progress in my children's social skills, confidence, and learning since they started here. The communication with parents is excellent, and I always feel reassured knowing my kids are in great hands. I love how the school staff really takes time to remember every student and makes sure everyone is greeted by their names. They try to know every family on a personal level and we really were able to build a relationship here. I'm always surprised by the artworks our kiddo takes home every week, I can tell the teachers are working really hard to help students to thrive. Huge shout out to Ms. Dani, who was always able to calm our son whenever he's fuzzy and put our mind at ease. We know our 2.5 yr old is not easy to work with and seeing him enjoying school so much means a lot to us. I had a friend whose daughter was in the Kindergarten class and had nice things to say about it. My husband and I toured it and I didn't get warm fuzzies right away from the director, Connie, but we moved forward with the enrollment process because we needed child care asap. Right away we did tell the director that our daughter has multiple severe food allergies and we filled out all the appropriate paperwork and provided her benadryl and epi-pen right away. FIRST INCIDENT: Not even two months after enrollment, we picked up my daughter on a Friday and after an hour being home she started breaking out in hives everywhere. She didn't have anything to eat at home. My husband had to give her the epi-pen. Right away, I sent an email to the director and let her know what happened. Connie let us know that her normal teachers weren't in the class that day, it could have been possible that someone gave her something she wasn't supposed to have. Of course by Monday the people we talked to couldn't remember if she ate something. The learning moment from that was that a teacher would sit by her at every meal/snack. My daughter was in the older infant class and we liked her teachers in there, never had problems. It wasn't until the summer of this year problems started happening. She moved into the younger toddler class, her teachers in there were also nice and loving to the students. This summer the owner decided to sell their Castle Montessori to Cadence Education. The director, Connie, left and the admin left not long after her. The new director, Ms. Nilima, was not approachable and very cold in those first weeks, maybe up to a month. She never made eye contact when my daughter and I entered the building. How could you not acknowledge who enters the building, especially at a child care facility?! During the summer we enrolled my Kindergartener here for their summer program. WORST program ever! We paid weekly tuition that was supposed to include weekly field trips, which some were cancelled due to the weather but nothing was every rescheduled. It was a waste of money. The final straw was when my daughter had ANOTHER allergic reaction!!! They claimed that she woke up in hives, ok, the director called us multiple times (I work in an area where I can't have my phone with me), she didn't leave my husband and I voicemails. My husband called back and the person on the phone just asked if they can give my daughter benadryl and of course he said yes. He decided to go to the school and they did NOTHING. She was covered in hives, she should have been given her epi-pen based on the emergency plan we provided. Ms. Nilima wasn't around, and my daughter was in her classroom, with her teachers putting her eczema lotion on her. She should have at least been at the front office being monitored for anaphylaxis. Multiple emails were exchanged after this incident. The director's responses were just appalling, with no empathy, and thinking she knows better than what a doctor says to do in an emergency. We pulled her out immediately, there was NO WAY we could trust this place every again. We had a meeting with the director a few days after the incident, she finally apologized and took full responsibility. She mentioned her staff will go through more training, but the damage was done. We demanded our full deposit back and never looked back. What really got me fired up was when I asked the director if they were going to self report themself to the state regarding this incident. Her response was no because an ambulance or ER visit didn't occur....WTF?!?!? Herself and the staff was clearly not capable of handling the situation.....or reading an emergency plan and FOLLOWING it. Honestly, I hope every parent reads this and stays far, far, away! This incident happened end of August this year and still makes my blood boil.

A lot of schools claim to be Montessori but really do not follow through with the model. Castle is truly a Montessori school. The teachers are wonderful with communication. My daughters are very busy and learning in the classroom. They do various activities with the kids. They also do events through the year like cook outs or grandparents day lunch. It's very safe environment. We are so happy at Castle Montessori!

We are so grateful for the nurturing environment they provide for my little one. He has learned so much and made great friends while developing important social skills at a young age. The center recently had a staff turn over that I believed was for the best. True example of the old saying "change is better". Nevertheless we are glad to be a part of the Lighthouse family!
