I have read all the reviews and decided to see for myself. I went to their shop for a paint estimate and found a full-sized paint booth. I saw various projects in the different stages of the paint process, so it was easy to see how work was performed. Old cars with rust/rot damage take time to repair and usually cost more to repair than expected. I know this after having 2 other classic cars restored by other shops. Restoration work is not cheap or fast. I was given an estimate on the repairs, and I approved the work, so I knew what I was getting into. Once work commenced, I was given updates on the vehicle as new unforeseen issues were discovered and the costs involved. Some of the vehicle's parts needed replacement as the project continued and some of those parts were defective, which was not Texoma Classics' fault, it was a manufacturer issue. Texoma Classics cannot warranty parts as they do not make the replacement parts, which I understood. That has been the case at every other shop I have had work done at, so no difference there. The paint came out beautiful and reassembly started. Again, during the process I was informed of the progress and any issues that came up (which there were) they worked through it with me. The vehicle was completed even though it took longer than expected and cost a little more, but that was due to the extensive damage to a 50-year-old car. I am happy with the result and the finished vehicle. Everybody has a different experience or perspective, so don't believe everything you read online or in a review. Texoma classics sent one of their crew to our property in webster, tx for a stay and is disputing all the charges after the guest stayed. They put in a chargeback for more than what the guest stay was for. This company is a fraud and is very rude and will not come on the line to fix the issue. very unprofessional!!!! read more

This was the most disappointing and frustrating experience I've had with a mechanic shop in 20 years. They had my car at their shop for almost a year, went $7000 over budget, lost several of the original parts off of the car and told me that they would not return my vehicle unless I agreed to sign an NDA saying I wouldn't talk about my experience with their shop. I brought them a running vehicle and got back a non working car with bad welds, poor parts installation, overheating and unsafe brakes. I tried working this out with them directly, then took it to the Better Business Bureau and now, as of this review, am having to enter into a lawsuit against Texoma Classics. I sent them a running vehicle to get an engine/tranny swap, upgrade the brakes, power steering, and wiring. All of this was stated upfront before entering into anything. It was supposed to be a 3 month project with a 20K budget but they had my car for almost a year. What I got back was a non-running vehicle that could not pass inspection and was missing several of its original parts. Texoma misplaced/lost: The original 216 engine The original instrument cluster The emergency brake The hood springs that hold it up One original hub cap At one point, they told me they would not return my car unless I signed an NDA. I declined and reached out to a lawyer. Afterwards the owner Chris told me that it was not a demand, only a request not to talk about my experience with Texoma and that my car was being returned. One of the biggest disappointments was being convinced by Ed and his team that I should go with a used engine and tranny they had found, assuring me it was a good deal, good quality and would save a ton of money over buying the new one we had already agreed on. In the end, the used engine cost me several thousands more in labor than a new engine would have and still they only did a minor rebuild, even though their invoice has over 100 hours of labor. Texoma claims the customer is responsible for everything but why would you hire an expert and then not take their advice? I was led towards these items and misled about their costs and issues after buying. After getting another shop's opinion on the work and talking with a lawyer, we tried to reason with Texoma and find a solution. They often use the excuse that "you were not charged for the work" but they did still accept full payment for ALL of the original scope of work, while only completing a third of the agreed work. I only found out about this AFTER I had paid for everything and the car was returned, non functional. They also used the excuse that "it is an old car and these things happen." But we had weekly check-ins for the first couple of months and their shop managers always told me how smooth everything was going and what great shape the car was in. Having yet another mechanic look at it, they also found metal in the oil and believe it is from the camshaft not being broken in properly. Texoma installed and damaged two brand new camshafts. Our family lost over $25,000 on this project and still do not have a safe or running vehicle. Texoma told my lawyer that they would be willing to take the car back and fix any labor installation issues under their warranty as long as it wasnt part related (even though they purchased all of the parts) but they have also said they didn't touch most of the engine during the swap and rebuild and lost many of our car parts. I'm not sure how I could trust sending them the car again. They keep saying, I chose used parts so I got used quality. The issue is not the used parts. The improper installation of the parts is the problem. The negligence and the poor customer service is the problem. I really thought that Texoma Classics would have handled this more professionally. Please read the reviews BEFORE you send your car to them, do your home work ASK FOR REFERENCES and CALL THEM! They will leave you broke, pissed off with a 1/2 finished project you will have to tow to another shop. Please trust me.. Charged me about a thousand for fixing my speedometer and it still didn't work. Blamed me for the part they bought. Have had my husband's car for over a year and went way over budget (some of which we approved), charged us 3 times to take the dash apart because they didn't do it right. Repainted the car with a "10 year guarantee" left it sit and it got dented and chipped and now want us to pay to repaint it and we haven't touched it in over a year. Put in the wrong windshield after we repeated warned them. Bought the wrong fenders repeatedly we had to pay for. A nightmare and they still have it sitting and we're stuck. read more

paint shop sub par incorrect booth , the booth is made for small parts and not complete. has no heat so if you paint your car in the winter time you are screwed . booth is inside the body shop and sucks the dust from there onto your paint job. air filtration is sub par , does not have the correct water filtration from the compressor , your paint will have water in it , not good at all , you will see dots from the water vapor shortly . the paint used is the cheapest possible from your local napa auto parts store. wouldn't put it on my lawnmower. before you sign anything go and inspect the facility , see for yourself while your there take a look at the cars they have completed , clear if full of trash , body lines wave at you as you walk by . they will bill you for a paint stick , that they don't pay for , any shop worth their salt bills you on the hours they worked on the car , it called a materials rate . not bill you by the yard for sand paper. i wouldn't let these guys paint my lawn mower let alone a classic car . once again , don't take my word for it go by and see for yourself . if your car is in there , go get it . cut your losses and be glad you got out as cheap as you have already . as for chris , he treats his employees like dirt. his way of communicating is by yelling and hurling f bombs at them . so i'm sure the employees are there just to collect a check and could care less about your car . his style of management isn't condusive to a healthy atmosphere and happy employees . don't take my word for it go see for your self , then run as fast as you can away from there . i give them negative 5 stars . but it won't let me . can't wait to read their reply . read more

Wish I had read Larry H.'s review of this company prior to taking my mom's 1996 Airstream to them. Labor estimate started at $6,380. After being billed almost $12,000, I told salesman, I have a $10,000 budget. The following week, I was invoiced another $3,960. I drove over and picked up my mom's unfinished Airstream to stop the charges. Paid $13,500 in labor and $1,500 in parts. Explanation for high labor cost was for the removal of mud wasp nests. I asked salesman if he thought the charges were fair and if there was anything he could do. He told me there was nothing he could do. Moved to another RV repair facility as broken window and no flooring still need to be replaced. read more

If you like some place to have a free run at your bank account this is your place. I brought in a 71 nova to have an engine built and installed. New fuel tank also. The old one had to be pulled and the new one fitted. Not much of a big deal but the labor hours was insane. The very few parts they bought and labor by the hour ran 9500 bucks. I'm not done yet. The engine and lighting wireing was to be replaced and they were payed to do it and they didnt. Gave me two different stories about the harness. First it was all one harness and then finally said it didnt deed it and the money was used towards labor costs. After getting my car home I found several finger tight bolts on the engine and surrounding areas. I'm still in the process of checking everything myself. This is no doubt the worst experience from a shop I've ever had and I will not go back or recommend them to anyone ever read more

If you care about your classic car, do yourself a favor and take it elsewhere. Not very knowledgeable. Prices are CRAZY high for substandard work. Every time I saw their number come up on my phone I knew the price was going up. My car has not been right ever since I made the mistake of taking it here. These guys know their classics, good at keeping me up to date on the work for my car, only down side is that my truck was there for 2 months and they have a high labor rate so it cost me far more than I was expecting, but they have verry fair parts pricing and they did a good job on my truck. Worked with me a lot to get what I wanted done and helped me out towards the end to get my truck back to me. Pleasant to work with them in person and explained everything to me verry well. Funny how it took you almost a year to respond to my review. Please know that you DO Not have permission to use any pictures of our car for any marketing purposes or any other purpose. We provided pictures of your shoddy work, cut wires, broken bulbs, screws stuck in holes with silicone holding them in, primer on original wheels and I could go on and on We had to take it to a real body shop that knew what they were doing just to get the doors and other panels to line up. These guys are crooks. Far overpriced and their work does not reflect what they charge. On top of that, they broke pieces to the car, had the nerve to ask if the part was broken before coming into the shop? What these incompetent individuals were unaware of is they post photos of progress on their website, and its easy to see in 3 of the pictures of my car that the car is in their shop with the specific piece not broken. It was broken upon them removing it. The owner said they do everything...what he really intended to say is they sub-contract everything but electrical and bodywork. I wanted bodywork and paint and they decided to do far more than what was asked. Not to mention no itemized list showing parts, cost, etc. This company is a fly by their seat and charge you. Their estimate (which I understand is an estimate) was 50% of the total cost. If this was a professional shop, they would have had a more keen eye. read more
