They will try to negotiate their way out of mistakes and incompetence. TLDR: Do not use Tez Marble. If for some reason, you have no choice but to use them, then do not pay them up-front or if for some reason you made the mistake of choosing Tez. After rescheduled appointments and being several hours late, our initial kitchen island granite was installed. I'll upload photos of the kitchen island install with the two waterfalls. Notice how on one side the granite sticks out. Then on the other side it sticks in? Yeah, neither is straight. Well it gets worse. The top was cut too short so is squeezed at the top and the cabinet doors can't open. Yup, their installer can't even measure properly or line things up. For a $3000 install fee, they offer a measly $500 'discount' for that major mistake of epic incompetence. So their logic is 'if you can't open your cabinets, then that's only $500 worth of bother'. I sent them photos and they collaborated with the installer to come up with a story to blame the cabinets. They said that their 12" measuring square was more accurate than my 3' water level. It is like the believed that gravity works differently at my house and NASA should come by and do research here for the anomaly. So I told them to come out to my house to check it out. They didn't take the offer. My cabinets are straight. Gravity works at my house. Also the edges weren't even straight. Simply putting any straight edge on any of the vertical surfaces showed that they lines weren't straight. Also there was a lot of chips in the edges. Overall, substandard quality of work. Photos will be uploaded. After a month of almost daily emails, they finally suggested (as I previously offered early on) that maybe they should come see it for themselves. After one of the staff came we were told that we were going to get the better installer and that it should be fixed. So we thought they were going to live up to their word to make it right. NOPE. We get the same incompetent guy 'George' of Bay Area Flooring. Yeah, these granite 'specialists' send a flooring guy for granite install. Not a good sign. We don't trust his skills and we said so. We don't trust anything coming out of his mouth. We didn't want another poorly installed kitchen island granite. So our alternative was to do a simpler design (no waterfalls) which leaves a lot of room for his incompetence. The difference between waterfalls and no-waterfalls is $1000. Yet, they were only willing to give us back $500 for an alternative we were forced to take because of their incompetence. Tez marble isn't about doing the right thing. They are about trying to see if they can get out of trouble for their mistakes by offering $500...when you spend your hard earned money. Look at how many of their 5 star reviews are by users with low credibility (people with zero friends). I followed up with other negative reviewers to find a similar story of incompetence. read more

We purchased kitchen and bathroom counters and tile from Tez. Need to add more photos when our project is complete, but wanted to share the experience we had. We were lucky to have Jesus as our sales person. He showed us dozens of slabs, made helpful suggestions, and answered our many questions (their warehouse is huge). We settled on the Shakespeare quartzite which we paid for Feb/March. When COVID delayed our project, Tez held our slab in storage for 6 months, no problem. As we made other choices for coordinating floor tile and backsplash, Jesus would arrange to have our slab (or one of the same color) available for us to test colors against. He sent me pictures of the edge of our bathroom vanity prefab when I needed it, sent us measurements, and helped lug things around the store as we tried different combinations. Good selection of tiles and stones but staff are totally incompetent. They are not bad people but they are very sloppy. They are not knowledgeable about what they have in stock and what they don't. A LOT of Tiles were mishandled and broken. They sold items that they didn't have at all. We had all sorts of problems dealing with this place. Poor communication. We had to call a dozen times for simple stuff. And if you think everywhere is the same, it's not. We had super smooth interactions with other places. Sam was great! We had a short notice bathroom renovation and we were scrambling. His team made us Carrara marble shelves for our shower, in three business days. The TEZ marble showroom had a lot of really beautiful stone. I wish we had visited them earlier since they had a lot of great tiles in stock, as well as other large stone for countertops, which would have made our process easier and with some great looking materials. Only place in town with Quartzite that looks like marble. Our salesperson, Buse, was very thoughtful, direct, and no nonsense. Kind and pleasant to work with as well. In addition to a good price, we made a win-win good faith agreement on delivery and she held up their side. I am very happy with the slab we got and the resulting counter. They had a slab in the color we were looking for, so we bought it. I have to say that the salesman and the manager Ali were helpful before the sale. After the sale, I called the salesman with a question and he was rude and unwilling to help. The installer foreman seemed knowledgeable and pleasant. I was optimistic that it would go well. Unfortunately the foreman was not there when the install was done. The guys who did the install left a lot to be desired. read more

Tez Marble cracked the $10,000 marble countertop in my kitchen when they installed it. The crack was small and behind the kitchen sink. I saw the Tez technician apply epoxy to the crack and he advised that the crack was permanently fixed. Now, a year later, the crack is quite visible and I contacted Tez for help to address the problem. Tez has refused to respond. The Salesman at Tez informed me that Tez fired the installer. I would strongly advise against doing business with Tez Marble because they cheated me, lied to me, and refused to address the problem they created. read more

11/24/2020 Most times I personally don't think that a simple "Thank You" just doesn't seem to be enough for the gratitude of such a service as both my wife and I had received from one of TEZ Marble's employees, Buse Gundogdu. My wife and I met Buse just this week, at the near end of our complete bathroom remodeling journey and Buse's expertise, product knowledge, vision, kindness and patience was remarkable. What a warm, friendly and kind individual, emphasis on kindness. Big box stores, as well as other competitors right in the same area as TEZ Marble will most likely never have given anyone the time and courtesy that Buse gave my wife from the first time my wife walked into TEZ Marble and met with Buse. Other competitors didn't even say "Hello, can I help you", as if my wife wasn't standing right in front of them. And the store's were empty. Their financial loss! With so many items to pick from, Buse made my wife's final product search and project come together so quickly with her recommendation and expertise, pointing out this n' that. Made my job easier thereafter too. So if you're looking for items, such as what TEZ Marble offers, be sure to ask for Buse. Better yet, call and make an appointment with Buse. We've had decent experiences with Tez Marble in the past. We used them to purchase a quartz slab and tile 2 years ago, and we were going to use them to purchase a slab this year as well. However, when we went in to return a box of tile that we bought a few weeks ago, they seemed like they didn't want to take it back. Things got somewhat awkward, the sales people talked amongst themselves a few minutes, and then they only offered to give us a store credit. We had to point out that the receipt says we can return tile within 30 days. The sales guy then said I'll have a restocking fee of 25%. I said ok. Then both sales people walked away in different directions, without saying anything, and left us wondering what was going on. After 5 minutes, I had to go into one of their offices to ask them if we were still being helped. This was a weird transaction that makes me not want to come back. read more

My husband and I went to Tez after visiting some other retailers. We were instantly greated when we entered, and as we walked into the large slab location met Sam. A very knowledgeable and friendly sales person, not like what we encountered ( or lack of) at other facilities, he was not pushy and when we explained our vision he took us through many options. I live in Hawaii and came over the San Fran for my birthday with my mission to find some accent tile for my soon to be renovated hall bathroom. I was trying to recycle some left over granite, Verde Wild Sea. George was very patient with me and we literally walked around the entire store to find "it". After an hour we decided on Fusion Diamond Series- Selene Summer! It was not cheap but beautiful and since I only needed 10 square feet it was affordable. The tile is a winner! It even has random flowers printed on some of the tiles that remind me of Hawaii. I ordered it on Sat 11/17 and it arrived on Sat 11/24! If you need some beautiful tiles, spend the extra cash. I saw tiles here that I never saw at the big box stores like Lowes and home Depot. read more

We remodeled our house completely. After looking around for finding good quality material and reasonnable prices, Tez Marble came out 1st. Alper was instrumental to get the best product, still helping us to stay on budget. He also was on the top of all the purchases to make sure they arrive on time and supplied us with extra material we forgot to account for in no time. Not a preferred supplier I came to Tez in late October for a simple kitchen project. They told me 3 weeks and it turned into 1 1/2 months. Every time I called them, I got the runaround. Then when came time for the granite install they told me I had to do all of the old countertop removal and then called them back so they could get me on the schedule with in ten days. ( meanwhile I'd be without a countertop) The next time we spoke they said that I had not purchased any backsplash. (Not true) It was very difficult working with them. When they finally came out, they told me they could not do the job because the kitchen sink needed to be taken off before they begin working. I ended up doing asking a friend it remove it quickly. Overall the job was not completed as you quoted but I trying to have it re-done would be very painful. I usually do not write negative reviews but I would not want anyone else to go through what I had to endure. read more

Pretty helpful owner and staff. I ordered tiles from them as well as a slab, and had their fabricator do a countertop and outside bar counter. Tiles: exactly what I needed for a good price. Unfortunately my GC's sub had miscalculated what to order and I needed to re-order more pieces. Bummer, when they came in, they were very slightly off in color. Not really noticeable to me but might be for someone else. Then again, GC's tile sub miscalc-ed and I was short ONE piece in the other tile color I ordered from them. Had to go back and re-order one tile and it took a very long time, apparently shipping from LA, etc. etc. Had to keep calling until got it in, so a small hassle. "caesarstone" quartz slab and outdoors granite slab: Looks fine, just what I needed. Alper the owner said the mitered edge was what I needed so it did end up costing more than I had expected originally but pretty much in line with other tile places. Installation seemed fine and pretty easy. As with ALL tile places make sure you write down the quote they give you and make sure they stick to it!!! Watch it. read more

We came by to check out some remnant pieces for a bathroom vanity project. They quoted us about $800 for a small piece, and said it would take over a week. I almost laughed. Someone already paid for the whole slab, and you want to charge that much for a chunk of the leftovers? No thanks. We went to another countertop place in Bayview and found prettier remnants for a fraction of the cost, with the vanity being completed in just a few days. read more

Your better off avoiding this rip off of a place. Manager/ Owner is rude. We ordered custom tiles which were supposedly priced wrong. how is that our fault? weeks later they canceled our order because they couldn't accomodate the custom order. Great selection! The service is absolutely horrid. Oz and Ali will promise you the world and deliver you nothing like what they say. You're paid up front so what do they care? The process goes like this: 1. Bring your measurements and hear how they can do everything you ask - perfect 2. Pay in full for the job -- perfect 3. They send the guy to measure for the fabricator. Now the problems begin -- not good 4. Turns out the slab you paid in full for won't be enough. Please buy another slab to complete the job 5. More delays. Fabricator shows up with wrong cuts based on poor measurements 6. Oh you wanted the holes cut in a specific place? They went ahead and cut holes where they wanted to -- not good 7. Have a problem with any of this? Call Ali and Oz and begin the process of negotiating with someone who already has all your money. Go ahead...try it. See how that goes :-) Not recommended unless you have lots of time for delays, enjoy arguing (hey, some do!), and don't care if you possibly lose a bunch of money, give these guys a try. This was my first experience with Tez. In the past I'd always gone next door to All Natural Stone, but stopped at Tez because we had already tried All Natural in Santa Clara, and not found the marble tile and slab for our master bathroom that we liked. Johnny and Ali were fantastic. We got a great price on a smallish and beautiful slab of Emperador Light for our vanity, and Cappuccino marble tile for the shower, bathroom floor, and wainscot. I highly reccomend them and would definitely go back again for any of my stone needs. read more

Disappointed in the material and the service. It took longer then expected to receive my order and when I did the tiles where broken. They tried to rip me off, they tried to charge me $800 and when I asked if that is the best they could charge sells person Oz in Burligame then charged me $350. I had to return the items and after over 2 weeks no refund was applied. I had to call repeatedly in order to receive my refund and they charged me $80 restocking fee. Rip off, don't shop here they will try to rip you off in one way or another that is why I took the time to warn folks. Beware. Many other better suppliers. read more

I went into TEZ looking for quartzite or granite. However, I became smitten with a piece of marble. While the salesman was able to give me an estimate while I was there, he was very pushy. He said if I bought the slabs that day, he would give me a discount. I asked if they were open on Saturdays so I could bring a friend to look at the slabs. He then asked me "who in your life is so special that you'd care about their opinion?" my contractor referred me to these guys twice. he has great confidence in their products. they have beauuuutiful things. i am ordering a TILE that looks like country aged hardwood. I went into Tez Marble shortly after a fiasco with buying tiles online. What I really appreciate with the store is their quality control and policy on damaged items, not to mention the very helpful and friendly service from Luis. He assured me that their replacement policy is at no cost at all to the buyer. This basically means, they'll go to bat for me, they'll make sure that the tiles I ordered will arrive just as it looks in the sample they have at the store, and any damaged items will be replaced for free by the manufacturer. Sure enough, when both my 1" hexagon and 6" x 12" marble tiles came, they were in perfect condition and arrived early (2 days instead of 3). In fact, they were very high quality. I was so impressed with the quality and their service that I decided to buy wood grain porcelain tiles for my kitchen through them. This item arrived in perfect condition as well. Their prices are not only one of the lowest I found on the peninsula (SF bay area), but it is just a little more expensive than the best prices online. Given the pricing, quality, service, and policies to protect the customer, these guys deserve my 5 star. read more

Here is the short version: Go here to select your tile, then buy it somewhere else. Now for the long version... This location recently opened in Burlingame and there are a lot of positives. The warehouse is huge, the selection is terrific and the salespeople appear to be knowledgeable and are helpful. Unfortunately, to my mind, the huge negative outweighs the positives: They stock very little and do not deliver on their delivery promises. I clearly made it known that time was of the essence. I went in the store on Saturday. I was assured that my tile would be available for pickup on the following Wednesday. I called on Wednesday and was told I would receive a return call. My call was never returned so I went in to the store. I spoke with Alper who said "the tiles are in our Oakland, California warehouse and would be available the next day". To make a long story short, half of the tile became available three days later on Saturday so I presume they had an employee walk them across the Bay Bridge to save money. It is now eleven days later and I still do not have the remaining half of my order. Moreover, when I picked up half of my order on Saturday Alper looked at me with a straight face and said 'I told you the border tile would take longer." This man looked me right in the face and told a bald-faced lie which is professionally reprehensible. I have since learned that Tez Marble keeps very little in stock and gets tile trucked in from, among other places, New York. I wish they would have been up front about this. Their Oakland facility has horrible reviews so I guess this new location does not want to deviate from what appears to be a long-standing tradition of horrible service. Who knows? If time is not important, this is your tile company. If time is of the essence, stay far away. read more

After purchasing some tiled marble on a Saturday they gave me a delivery date of Monday. We were happy with the short turnaround time. I should have known it was too good to be true because it's Friday and still no tile. Excuse after excuse. Just be honest and say you either forgot to order the tile or you never had it to begin with. The only reason I purchased it from them is because of the availability. Initially I engaged in racial profiling of the employees and was very suspicious of Tez, the foreign accents and too-eager-to-help attitude nearly toppled my enthusiasm for the nice products they have in the showroom and warehouse. I would up buying some marble and granite slabs from them. It went smoothly. George and Luis were knowledgeable and nice. They called to tell me they were having a sale, and then gave me an additional little discount off the sale price. I'd go back to Tez, at least for slabs. It sounds like their tile sales can be more problematic. read more
