I like exploring rental buildings and condos, and TF Cornerstone is a decent option. While I don't prefer this location over others, it is a rental building. It doesn't have a swimming pool, but the company has around 8 other buildings. This particular building is an older one. However, it is conveniently located near a library, a strip of restaurants and a beautiful waterfront park with ferry access.When looking to rent, be aware that rental prices may vary depending on the season. Typically, prices are highest during the summer months and lowest during the winter. read more

TF Cornerstone LIC BUILDINGS team is bad!!!!!! They ignore your requests,/complaints whether it is letters, emails or phone calls. They use tactics like FALSE INFORMATION and PRESSURING you to make you do what they want. If you want to rent they demand all sorts of documents and information and very careless about the privacy of your info. They still may not respond after they get your documents unless they want to. They treat you like they are doing you a favor to take your money to buy/rent an apt. ASK FOR EVERYTHING IN WRITING WHEN RENTING OR BUYING. In a non-smoking building I notified them of people smoking in the building in common areas. They do nothing. They told us to go find out who they are and come back. We are suppose to ask people violating rules their names. Instead of them addressing it with a building wide reminder. If there is loud noise complaints very unresponsive. The (5203 Center Blvd) building smells like garbage 4/5 days a week (until the garbage is picked up) and the complaint has been made again and again by several residents nothing really done. They tell you amenities are included and then you find out after signing lease they are not. They say you can bring a guest to gym after signing you find out that is the opposite. The team Ivan Urglies, Nikita Mathison either lie to your face or use pressure or intimidation tactics to get what they want (you to go away). There is very little or no information to escalate the matters to have them resolved. The team including Lauren Geminder are very unprofessional at times. This is not a company that has a respectful, courteous, HONEST OR professional staff. They do not hold their team accountable for how they respond or if they respond to resident issues and if the matter is resolved. If Yelp allowed for a minus star TF Cornerstone would have that! Stay away! For your own good, especially if you value your privacy of investments and financial records. AND do yourself a favor if you are planning to lease from TFC, ask for a written detail of their "criteria" to approve you prior to providing them with all your information!! Know that we understand the need to acquire financial information to rent or lease, yet your own security should be respected, e.g. blocking some numbers like SS or account numbers, to avoid hackers or scam usage. We made the mistake of being too trusting in working with their agent, Marissa Farr, who seemed very nice in the beginning, with showings of apts. We understood her email requests for financial information and submitted them, blocking out our vital account numbers for the sake of security, as well as detailed investment strategies. Every step of the way, one thing or another was added per their "underwriter's" request. Bear in mind all your personal papers will be uploaded to their portal, and you will not know who this unknown entity is throughout the process! Yet, we learned that according to NY State law you should have this information prior. Bear in mind if you plan to be a guarantor, which we were planning on for our child, 250N10 only requires 75X monthly rent, which again we had far more liquid funds than that! And we had papers to show along with lawyers, and investor guarantees. YET their "underwriters" and leasing director, Margaret Nieves, came back asking for detailed investment strategies, full account numbers and nothing blocked off for security! We were told by their agent, Marissa, that our application looks really good and we just needed to do this last step!! Reluctantly we did as we were told providing TFC with ALL our information! Now they have all our bank records, tax records, and investment records. Guess what?!! Our application was denied without any explanation! Once that happened all of a sudden nobody picks up our calls :( Finally, the woman Anna from the leasing office called and only said we were denied since we didn't meet their "Criteria"!!! And a letter was sent out to tell us we were denied. Yet, when asked why didn't the original requests state what their "criteria" were she had no answer, merely stating it is up to their "underwriters" and could be a credit report (which we know first hand that ours is Very Good! These unknown entities now have our innermost private financial information and the people we deal with! They are getting away with this scam of a company! SO DON"T BE FOOLED AND STAY AWAY!! Anna in leasing was advised that I would write this review yet her response was less than interested, this company may be large but they got here with scamming people. Do yourself a favor and read all the negative reviews as well as their employee feedback, not a place to work it seems and leasing office is a JOKE! read more

First of all stay away from Ivan Urgiles at all cost. He is a pathological liar and even tried to sneak in extra clauses in the lease section. He initially send us links to multiple apartments in TFC LIC locations in the morning and when we arrive few hours later he didn't show up and after having us wait for an hour send someone else who has no clue. He then showed us random apartments and then Ivan called him and ask us to file the application immediately. Keep in mind, we were still in middle of viewing the apartments. He then tell this guy to drop us and move to next party. He then email us a note saying apply for apartments now and push the documents later. We went home and file an application which hw then keep in pending mode saying there is already an active application in place for that unit. We asked him, it is one of the apartment we just saw like an hour ago and he said if we don't want apartment he can reject the application and there is no shortage of tenants. He eventually approve the application but changed the rates on us in the lease and added clause that we need to pay extra for amenities (despite being told during showing they are included). Finally, even with that when we finally asked him about wrong move-in date, which does not match what we put in the application, he basically call us liars and told us he will reject the application. We eventually decided not to rent with TFC. It seems like TFC doesn't care about their public image because if they do Ivan should have been fired. To sum up, Ivan is an obnoxious, rude, liar, and an extremely unprofessional jerk that no one needs to deal with. read more

I was a long-term resident at 4545 Center Blvd (from 2013 through 2020). The building was very nice and most of the front desk staff were kind and professional. In early 2020, noise issues began significantly/adversely impacting my sleep. The manner in which management and leasing office handled this (or rather did not) was beyond bad. Building management was mocking and the leasing office turned from supportive to nasty. The late night/early morning noise was affecting my sleep so much that I ended up moving from 4545 before my lease ended and paid two leases just to get away. It was a shame as I enjoyed the building and staff for many years. read more

The building is nice and the staff who work in the building are very friendly and helpful. I was a tenant for years but the management company, however, is an absolute nightmare. I've had an issue with my next door neighbor who smokes weed like it's their job and blasts loud music all night. I haven't slept in my apartment in 6 weeks. The management company refuses to do anything about it and it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. when I tried to switch apartments, their leasing people just ignored me. Stand down folks, first and foremost the 5 stars are for the following. 1. The Doormen, all of them especially my starting 5 Troy, Steve, Andrew, Maurice, and Sebastian and all others are 6 man of the year. 2. Custodian staff always on point always Professional they keep the building looking good always. Great amenities staff in the gym and outdoor activities on the 7th floor. 3. Maintenance staff always comes when called upon always fixes what's broke, always respectful and considerate of your time. 4. The building well put together nice spacious units, nice hard wood floors and modern appliances. Great views of Queens and Manhattan. 5. The community is getting better and better. Good restaurants and breweries all within walking distance. LIC flea market behind the building and Hunters Point. Shuttle service, cabs, Uber, water taxi, 7 train. And it's only going to get better. Now that was the 5 star review. Here is the -5 star review and it's consistent with all others. The Management staff is HORRIBLE, AWFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCONSIDERATE, From 45-45 Center Blvd to Park Ave. They hide behind a keyboard and try to avoid the human element of customer service. Sad thing is they can get away with treating clients like that because they know the previous 5 pionts I made will seal the deal when renting. They know they have an incredible staff and the area is in demand. With that said, they don't give a sugar, honey,ice tea about you. There corporate office can careless as well. Hide in your cubicle and continue to steal paychecks while you surf the web and do nothing all day. You're all worthless and you're all riding the coat tails of an amazing staff. The front desk and the maintenance staff are really wonderful/professional people, so this is not a review of them or their work. Leasing agents are dishonest and purposely unhelpful. Never respond to emails, have to follow up constantly. When they do respond, it is with minimal information, nothing helpful. Do your homework. The apartments are overpriced for the amenities and Plaza East has loud construction Mon-Sat thru 2021. So if COVID has you working from home, look elsewhere. They make no concessions with our new daily reality. I've had leasing agents be given my key and walk into my apartment on 3 different occasions, thinking they were going into an empty unit. Who knows how many times when I've not been here. Maintenance has entered several times with no notice, only knew someone was in because they left their dirty towels on the countertops. read more

The building is nice but when COVID struck they told tenants that they had 3 weeks to pay their rent otherwise late-fees would be applied. Didn't matter if people had lost their jobs. Then they closed the building's facilities and refused any rent reductions for this - claiming that the facilities are free. Of course they're not, they're baked into the rent. So overall their response to COVID has been 'screw you'. read more

It was a perfect one year stay at 4720 in 2017. The room is brand new with open kitchen and great river and city view. Most of the door man are super nice and very responsible. Smooth move in and out progress. Just sometimes getting the reply back from management is slow. And gym can be a little bigger. read more

Moved into 95 Horatio in early 2020. Covid hit and NYC went into lockdown. Signed a 2-year lease with them (NEVER DO THIS) and they are not helping us out at all. Amenities shut down and they are refusing to work with us in terms of any leeway with reduced rent along with shortening our lease term. Most other leasing companies are working with their tenants in one way or another and they are being extremely difficult. Most of the building moved out- 30+ vacant apartments and they are only listing a few. Sharon in management is horrid to work with. She should leave. ALSO, this building is shit. The walls are paper-thin so you hear everything from surrounding apartments, dogs walking, babies crying, vacuums, and parties. I would give this building an absolute 0, they have zero disregard for their tenants. First lets talk about them giving false information so that way you can add the amenity fee to your lease. They told me I was able to bring someone with me to the gym and when I do, I have a door man running up to me screaming at me and my guest about "you know what the rules are" and lets be very clear I JUST MOVED IN! Then you have the issue with the one year free cable and internet, they NEGLECTED to give me the paperwork and I had to reach out to FINALLY get this paper mind you 4 MONTHS LATER! Now we get into the noise complaints for my heaters pipes clanking together. When I first reported the issue I called the door man, (mind you the same door man to scream at me) He first swore up and down it was my next door neighbor. He started saving very inappropriate and very rude things about my neighbors, calling them drunks, and druggies and they are nothing but problems. He then proceeded to file a report again them after I told him it wasn't them. And now I spent almost the last three months with noise in my apartment that didn't allow me to sleep. It took me literally raising hell to hear back from the building property manager to let me know things were going to get done. So from November 23rd to January 6th I spent sleepless nights in my apartment and they are now saying they cannot accommodate me for this inconvenience. I do not recommend this building at all. Low income housing or the wealthy. It is not worth the money or view. If I were you don't rent out here what so ever. They are completely unprofessional as I sent out almost 20 emails and it took the building manager to actually tell them to respond back to me. I only received ONE email in that almost 3 month span. I have moved out of this building for almost three months, and I haven't received my security deposit yet, they just try there best not to pay back your security deposit. After the first mail was lost I said I can go to the office to pick up my check or please mail it through priority mail which I can pay the fee, but again , they said they mailed it the cheapest way without a tracking number, so basically there is no evidence shows TFC mailed out my check, I can't believe my check lost twice, I don't think they even mailed out my check at all, it's too bad. Awful management company with no sense of accountability, responsiveness, or compassion for the tenants. The agent/person in charge of my apartment building rarely ever responded to my emails or calls about important building matters, instead putting me directly to voicemail. The only time she proactively reached out was to send me a lease renewal contract. She consistently ignored me when I was facing an issue with GAS and CARBON MONOXIDE leakage in my apartment! NOTE: This review is for our experience being shown the apartment. We do not rent here (and now plan to never). My husband and I came into view a property today we saw listed as an open house on street easy. Understand, we made the incorrect assumption that it was through the building itself - not noticing it was a lease break. Our mistake. However when we walked into the leasing office, we were greeted with friendly smiling faces. Off to a good start. We filled out information and mentioned the listing we saw. A man named Ivan butted into our conversation and basically called implied we were stupid - explaining that street easy was not their site, and they don't have that unit. Let's be clear, they didn't have that unit available because it was a lease break (which he alluded might be the case) but he also made us feel like that apt didn't exist, which was misleading and not the case. He was abrupt and rude, and the experience was incredibly off putting. A very kind (albeit nervous and disorganized... I think he was new) young man showed us various apartments, although none in 4545 even though some were clearly available (after looking on the site after) and within our budget... odd. We were also told we would receive an email with the floorplans which we haven't. I have to say, due to our negative experience we looked up reviews, and these concerns were echoed. We would be very hesitant to live in one of their properties given this level of service. I'd have to wonder if while living there anything came up how it would be addressed... concerning. In terms of the apartments themselves - they were quite nice. Only 2 bedrooms had w/d in suite unfortunately, and although they have w/d on the floor in other cases (note we were taken to multiple buildings so this is about it all encompassing) there are only a set of 2, and on a Saturday while seeing apts they were busy! Perhaps they have people lined up to rent their apartments, I don't know, but that is absolutely no reason to treat people with disrespect. I should have walked out the moment he spoke to us so disrespectfully. As a professional who prides herself on customer service and respect or all individuals, I was quite appalled. read more

I am so desperate at this point, the management wouldn't do ANYTHING with the non stop marijuana smell on my floor (4720 Center blds), my apartment smells and I have a condition where I cannot have this secondhand smoke at all! They don't want to lose money, I have filed multiple complaints, but they prefer to gaslight me by saying 'the doorman didn't smell any marijuana'. We were considering moving out BECAUSE OF THAT, but they wouldn't let us break the lease (despite the 'covid situation'). read more

Horrible management and terrible building policies. Expensive rentals for the lack of service they provide. No swimming pool, decent gym or useful common areas. Crowded elevators, crowded laundry room and no solution despite several complaints. Construction quality of their buildings is horrible. Walls are so thin that you can listen everything that happens on other apartments. Doors are so heavy that every time you close your door or your neighbors do so, you will fill an earthquake around you. They don't have any issue renting a 2BR apartment to 3 or more tenants that can also add one more person in their rooms. Then everything is overcrowded. People is constantly moving out. There are much better places to go for less money in the area and also closer to the metro. read more

While this isn't for their actual building which is very nice and a great property - their management team don't understand that they're playing around with people's housing situations. Emails are left unanswered, calls aren't returned, and they seem to not want to update anyone unless its good news. If I'm applying for housing I'd like to know if I've been accepted or declined and not have to guess until I'm homeless. It took about 4 emails and 3 calls to find any information out and even instead of declining there is always another apartment you can apply to and not hear back from, if you're applying save yourself trouble and do it in person and have all your supporting documents ready to not be left in limbo. read more

We have been living in 4720 since November and we love it here! Our apartment is beautiful with an awesome balcony and views. The door men are so sweet! We also love the perk of holding our packages and getting an email when they arrive. The roof top is nice with skyline views - downfall is they need more furniture up there. You have to fight for a seat/table as it's very minimal. Overall great place to live! read more

TERRIBLE RESPONSE TO TENANTS NEEDING EXCEPTIONS MADE DURING COVID-19. I am a California resident who signed a lease that started March 1st. I was planning to officially relocate at the end of March but then there were shelter in place mandates started around March 15 in both CA and NY. I originally asked if they could lower my rent since it was not financially feasible for me to live in CA and pay rent in NY, they said no. I then asked for them to terminate my lease since I had not had the chance to officially move in yet, they said no. They said I had to find a replacement tenant or else they wouldn't end my lease. Even though I am across the country, I posted my listing on every possible website I could AND hired a broker. They know that no one wants to rent now so they put it on me to find someone knowing it is impossible, especially since coordinating house showings is incredibly difficult from across the country. I then started posting on twitter reaching out to legislatures about my case and telling everyone about how they have been responding to my case and a women named Margaret (I believe that was her name) called me saying I have been "trashing" them online... it is not "thrashing" to tell the world about how you respond to tenants during COVID-19. She also told me that I could just fly to NY if I can't stay in California and pay rent in NY, she said that my only problem was that I just "don't way to fly". Excuse me? GOVERNORS ARE TELLING PEOPLE TO SHELTER IN PLACE. You honestly think that you collecting rent money is an "essential" reason for me to put myself and everyone around me (including the residents of 455 West 37th street) at risk by flying across the country for no good reason? The only reason I would be doing this is because YOU ARE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO STAY IN CALIFORNIA BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO. Shame on you. Shame on TFC. read more

My family and I moved into The Fairfax building several months ago and there is a Serious RODENT ISSUE. we have had 4 mice thus far and the building seems to want to blame Amazon packages. This is laughable. My wife and I have lived in a dozen apartments in NYC. We have received hundreds of packages in each building. Magically, the RODENT ISSUE started because of "Amazon" when we moved to the Fairfax. While the building staff and exterminator have been responsive, TF Cornerstone management and legal counsel refuses to respond or acknowledge our emails. In short, AVOID AT ALL COSTS...unless you want rats as your roommates. read more

Terrible company during terrible times. My son and I tried to apply for an apartment together and were held to different standards than other parents in a similar situation. My son did not qualify on his own due to an income requirement of 40 times the monthly rent so I applied to be added onto his lease to share the apartment. I was held to 75 times the income requirement and treated as a guarantor despite the fact that I wanted to be on the lease and accept full risk and share the dwelling for when I am in town. I feel strongly discriminated against as I have heard from other families and brokerages that this never happens and that Jared Miller Brown and Margaret Allen-Nieves were discriminating against me and my son renting this unit and held to different standards. I WISH I COULD GIVE TF CORNERSTONE NEGATIVE STARS! The issue is not with the building, but with their management in general. I lived at the 4720 Center Blvd location and scheduled my move out timely and took all the appropriate steps (i.e. signed the non-renewal agreement and sent it back to TFCornerstone, scheduled my move out w/the front desk, reserved the elevator, scheduled my walk-through etc etc..). I had the automatic monthly rental payment set up and towards the end of the month (a few weeks after I had signed the non-renewal agreement), I received an email indicating that I was being charged for the next month's rent and the payment is being processed. I checked my bank account and noticed that it was pending and them immediately contacted TFCornerstone to see why I was being charged when I signed a non-renewal agreement. The individual I exchanged emails with was nice and explained that I do not need to take any action as it should be cancelled since I am moving out. HOWEVER, a few days later, the payment was posted and was deducted from my bank account. I then followed up to see what the issue was. At that point, a different person advised that I had the automatic payment set up so it was just deducting from my account. I tried to explain that I signed the non-renewal agreement and shouldn't that have closed my account? She didn't have and answer for me other than that she would "close" my account and then advised that the refund would take 30 days to process. I really did not understand why it would take 30 days, but said that was fine. About 4-5 weeks later, I received my security deposit in the mail that stated at the top "FINAL STATEMENT OF TENANT'S ACCOUNT FOR 4720 CENTER BLVD, APT XX" and included below was a breakdown: security deposit, prepaid rent. The pre-paid rent area said $0. I contacted TFCornerstone to get an understand of what the issue was and was essentially told that because the rent payment was electronic it would take 90days!!!!!!!!!!! HOW ABSURD AND RIDICULOUS IS THAT?!?!?!?!? It was not even my fault that they took the monies out of my account and I have to continue to follow up and make sure this does not fall off my radar?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? I asked the lady to at least provide me with a status update so that I could some what understand what takes 90 days to process a refund. I asked if she could at least send me a screen shot of something that shows it is processing, but no word yet! I'm so appalled at how TF Cornerstone runs their business and it is so ridiculous how they have clauses around rental payments not being timely yet they sit and wait on refunding a rent payment (that should never have been deducted from my account to being with) for 90 days. I live at 4545 Center and it's been wonderful. The people who work in the building are great, its the leasing agents and corporate who are so dead set against transferring a lease that they'll lie to, steal from and cheat a tenant out of the qualified renter that is required to move out of the building. I had hoped for a reasonable solution but now I know that people just don't care there, that it's worth it for them to just harass me as I attempt to point out the ilegality of committing tortious interference in renting the tenant I found another apartment. Recently, after speaking to the building's General Manager (which I have a recording of) for 44 minutes, I was incensed at his backtracking and flat out lies, I figured that this was worth it's weight in gold, finally I had some evidence. I asked to speak to his manager/supervisor/next up the food chain and hoped for someone to listen objectively, look at the email trail and evidence and make things right. Instead, she wrote me a nasty email, followed it with a phone call (that I didn't bother to pick up) and then hired a law firm to start sending me harassing emails about how I could not talk to anyone who worked for TF Cornerstone and how I was "loitering" outside the building. Oh, and apparently trying to drop off a rent check is "threatening" behavior. Plus they tore down every piece of paper I posted advertising the apartment, it's apparent that they will not let a transfer go through, I've heard horror stories from the brokers around here and I now realize that my only chance at actually getting out of this lease is in court, because they'll do anything to sabotage a transfer. Since the tenant signed the lease, sent the certified check, and I legally surrendered the apartment, I have to hope that a judge sees it my way. read more

I'm really surprised there aren't many possible reviews about the TFC buildings. They may not be perfect but definitely deserve high scores! My husband and I moved from Canada last year and lived at 4610 for almost a year now. Yes, Management may not be your best friends, a bit cocky at times, but they seem professional to me. The building I live in is extremely well maintained. Common areas are always clean, no odour, I see staff cleaning the laundry room or vacuuming the hallway frequently during weekdays. Refuse rooms are cleaned at least 2 times daily (on every floor), so it's never dirty, or filled with too many recycle items or boxes. RENT: I think it's fair for the environment they offer and proximity to Manhattan. It's an upscale neighbourhood, I feel very safe walking on the street even at late nights. The buildings are situated right along East River overlooking the breathtaking mid-Manhattan skyline. Our favourite activity is to walk along the dock after dinner. (did I mention you can catch the Macy's July 4th fireworks right in front of you?) The City did a good job keeping the park clean and inviting, a lot better than the one at Exchange Place (Jersey City) IMO. We have a 1-bedroom overing looking the street. Quiet, large space!! We tried to look for another place in a similar price range before our lease is up, nothing compares!!! (We looked at new buildings around Queensborough, Astoria, Manhattan). STAFF: best, hands-down!! The on-site maintenance staff are always polite, when they see you in the hallway they don't ignore eye-contact. Instead, they look right at you and say hi!! Repair requests submitted online get replied within 15 min-1 hour! Concierge are very professional, some even made an effort to remember your names (it's a big building!!!) They process in-coming and out-going packages (yes, even parcels I ship) quickly and efficiently. Everyone in the building wears uniform and treat you with respect (they know you are the boss!). SHUTTLE: buses run frequently in the morning. No issue. Evening can be a bit hit or miss. Weekends - may as well walk. It's about 10 min from the 7 line. SHOPPING: 2 supermarkets within walking distance. Some great restaurants in the neighbourhood. Other than that, it's quite boring. Not very pleasant besides Center Blvd or Vernon Blvd, LIC is still an industrial area. FERRY: Gosh, we love the LIC landing. So full of live!! There is a ferry dock (in a week time 4610 will have 1 too!!) The lines take you to 34th street, or downtown, passing through Brooklyn and Governor's Island. For under $3 you get to do a boat ride touring Manhattan. HATE: dog waste! They are everywhere. Owners don't bother cleaning after their pets. Gross!! This is our very first rental in NY. The apartments in LIC are overpriced for what you are getting and where. The management is exceedingly difficult to deal with to boot. I agree with the comment above, that the concierge are basically there for show. Not particularly helpful and in one case, extremely unhelpful. read more

You do not want to work with Hibba Stanley or her superiors in the management! We rented out the club room for an event from 1-5pm. Realized after the fact that our caterer needed an hour to set up before the event. When we asked Hibba about it, she said we were only allowed 20 minutes and we would have to work with that. We asked for some hospitality and suggested two options: 1- allow our caterer to set up and keep the room open for other residents or 2- allow us to pay for an extra hour of the reservation. After arguing with us for multiple emails, she tells us that "Residents who use the space to do work would be disturbed by caterer's coming in and out for an hour to set up [even though this is a public use area so there could be noise from any source at any time, not just our caterer]. She then claims to be doing us a "courtesy" by charging us double the normal price for the hour AND requiring the room stay open. Anyone can tell that's being flippant. The best part is that after giving us such a hard time, when we did indeed arrive to set up- the doorman did not even have us down for the right time and wasted 20 minutes of our set up time trying to call Hibba and have it sorted out. So our caterer was extra late AND NO RESIDENTS WERE USING THE "space to do work"!!!!! The room was completely empty. I have lived in NYC since '92 and my experience at 4545 Center, TF Cornerstone, was the best so far. First I love the neighborhood, but coming home each day I really felt taken care of in a warm & authentic way by the staff, the management was kind and clear, it was best all around building I've experienced. I decided to update this as I had to move to Jersey for transit reasons and now I am planning to do whatever it takes to go back to LIC & TF Cornerstone. read more

I am giving these apartments 1 star because it isn't possible to give 0. Basically building management is garbage. They've cultivated a snitch culture where anyone living around you may just complain for any reason. People living here seem friendly until you get a complaint over dumb things. People who live here are way to touchy. One day I was doing laundry and came back to the laundry room to find my clothing had been removed from the drier I had been using. I came up to check if my cloths were dry. So I took the persons clothing out of the drier I had been using. I also noticed articles of clothing were missing. I received a reprimand about a week later for removing someone's clothing from a drier. I explained the situation and they said they didn't have a problem with someone removing my clothing. I very much do considering I don't know who is touching my clothing. They threaten you with empty threats and justify their b.s. With there very generic vague rules. They've also accused of smoking in the apartments which has never happened. They insisted it was us because the smell seem to come from my apartment. There is literally 0 proof and I've smelled smoke in my hallway coming home from work. I'm a non-smoker basing things on smells alone seems absurd considering there was no strong smoke smell which would linger. I since then pro activate my report it just so I don't get blamed. Which is garbage because I feel anyone should be able to do what they want within the privacy of there own place. The apartments seem nice at first glance but then you realize it looks nice however the design of certain things are like tiny mistakes they didn't care to fix. The bathroom medicine cabinet mirror is too long a normal thing of hand soap won't fit right under it. The dishwasher buttons are covered by the granite counter... The apartments are dog friendly which was my attraction however besides the tiny dog park which is provided your dog basically can't walk any where but the side walks. Considering they have gantry park near the water and dogs aren't allowed. Nor is anything short of walking and admiring. This place wasn't planned well and rules are way to restrictive. Management is very awful and harassing to deal with. So even though they are nice looking places its rules are extremely restrictive and people around you make you feel like an asshole for listening to music. read more

They have a very bad management. It's impossible to communicate with them. The management is not helpful and ignorant. They also force to sign you a lease a very short time period. Other reviewers are right, the people who show you apartments doesn't know what apartments are available and which unit matches your expectations. You need to go over all the units yourself and find a good unit for you. The people who are showing you apartments are probably not making enough money and doesn't care and know about the available units.Their building staff is good. read more

This is for 4720 building in LIC. The management and service have gone downhill over the last 2 years. The staff appears to be newly hired and incompetent. Waiting for days to get maintenance requests processed and issues take weeks and multiple follow ups to get fixed. It also appears that in an effort to keep the building fully occupied at these high rents they once again started allowing multiple occupants to share small apartments. Those are usually students with little regard for their neighbors - so be ready to deal with late night partying and noise. Even though the building is smoke-free, many tenants disregard this designation, and the management is not doing anything to enforce it. If you are unlucky to live next to a smoker, you will have the smell seep into your apartment through the vents and poor insulation. read more

Livin in 4610 right now. Had a really good time with it untill one day I was mischarged for things that I already paid for. My bank is kind enough to refuse the payment request from TFC but TFC charged me again for no paying things I already paid for. All in all, the experience was good, not amazing but good. Good: Clean and well-maintained, beautiful views, laundry on every floor. Walls are double sheetrocked so I rarely heard my neighbors. Maintenance guys were good. They returned my full deposit and didn't screw me. Meh: Most of the front desk guys were not that friendly or helpful, unwilling to go the extra mile to help someone, ever. So if you want a real concierge, this is not the place for you. However, they will make strangers stop at the desk. The gym is just ok. If you want a nice gym and pool, you can pay extra and use the one in the Rockrose bldg across the street. Northern exposure apts might have 7 AM construction noise issues or, eventually, obstructed views. Also, it's a good 8-10 minute walk to the 7 train and since the building sits on the East River, that walk is mighty windy and cold in the winter. Bad: After one year, they raised the rent by 13% and refused to negotiate, even in a very flat economy. I can't understand why they wouldn't want to keep good tenants in the building. So after one year, I gave notice. They brought tons of people to look at the apartment without calling ahead to ask permission, so leasing agents would show up with their clients with no notice whatsoever. They even came in to show the apartment when I wasn't home. NOT classy! read more
