Of all the schools on the list for WIOA grants, TGA has to be the best. It's an amazing school all around. The instructors, man, where do I even start? They genuinely care about you and they want you to succeed. The staff in the administrative side is so responsive and there when you need them. the school is good also the methodology is great and the teachers are very professional. although, it is a school which started to grow but don't have enough resources to serve many students! morning and afternoon classes have a lot of students! there are about 15 students for one old truck. i suggest new students get another school where there are many trucks and resources to practice. a place where the students don't fight over the truck. ps: if you apply under california workforce make sure you get another school because they have many good ones in their database. there is a school in baldwin and fontana they have 40 trucks each student drive their own truck. read more

Let's start by saying this is the most unorganized school I've seen in my life they tell you one schedule and location and will switch u down the line I started here in the beginning of may and now have quit to attend another school mind you and my class was paid for by a grant. It's a total scam. They charge the federal government $6,000 dollars and basically rush you through the process where you have 12 students your sharing 1-2 trucks that are crap. with you will start off in the classroom where I found that my teacher marked answers right on my test that were actually wrong the teachers that are teaching you are teachers that found trucking wasn't for them so now want to teach. I was at the elementary school Camino campus which every other hour a lady from elementary school Camino will come out and talk to the teachers were the class will be out on hold which is very annoying. I then went to Downey which is worse where you have a small lot 1 truck and a lovely out house to use the restroom with 12 students doing something different with a teacher that sits in the corner also students smoking on the lot next to natural gas trucks that I find very amazing. I would not recommend this school to anyone if you want to get 1 on 1 help and get what u need fast as well as stick shift don't go here and don't listen to there stick shift speech to me it's all crap there all about the money and operate like a elementary school try barber trucking or masters as I will be attending and just make a payment plan way worth it! read more

Pablo simplifies, directs everything, and sets up your profile and login about the process with patience and precision. Caroline is easy to work with and multitasks sufficiently to provide all necessary paperwork to help everyone's needs and questions. Everything about the curriculum is absolutely spot on with DMV testing and your curious expectations. You will go over General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combinations not only thoroughly, but also speedily to obtain your permit in the perfect timing for the first couple weeks. The instructor Kam is the best instructor and leader you'll ever find in the trucking game. When it comes to DMV they'll choose a location that suites your needs and where there's availability for DMV testing. This school is heads above all of the others we interviewed! The first plus is their flexible scheduling. They run three shifts during the week, so you can even go after work if you are working a job. The instructors are serious about making you into a great truck driver - no BS because that's the only way you're going to stand out over your competition. If you want to be great, go to this school. The curriculum is industry standard, and probably above - because all of the guys in my class passed for their permit, and then for their CDL-A; with all of the endorsements!!! The first school we went to, Truck Driving Academy in Fontana was so bad, we had to quit due to safety problems. Then they didn't want to refund our $$, but we got the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education after them and got our money back. Not a bad place to start learning the basics. Once you have your permit I recommend extra training at a more professional school that has better equipment and better assistance. The training is eight weeks but, you only get about three hours a day for training due to their jacked-up schedule. Most students stay longer than eight weeks because by the end of the term they are not prepared to take the state exam. This is how the school keeps their retention rate at 1%. "Stay as long as you like, it's all on you because they don't care." TIP: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CDL DRIVING TEST WITH ANY OF THEIR TRUCKS. Once you start the driving portion TRANSFER TO ANOTHER SCHOOL. The driving instructor for this location is a pain in the ass and does not know english. Get the extra experience you need to get ahead. I was part of the first class of students from Long Beach community college to get my class A back in 2017. Can't say enough about my main instructor Stew. He had me ready to take my DMV test in 4 weeks and 6 days from the time I started here. I passed first try. Kristie and Edgar were also a huge help. steer clear of this place. my bf went here and paid 4k to get his class A. this is a big investment and with that comes expectations. u first start going for 4 hrs a day. and waste ur time. they give u forms and ur on ur own studying. which u can study at home....and help u get ur permit within the first 3 weeks. which is promising. then, your on your own. you learn the forms at home from then on... they dont test you. they dont follow up nor verify your learning or studying the parts of the trailer. for the driving test....then comes the driving they cut you from 4 hrs of school to 1 hour. YET the instructor gets there late 10mins every day. so that's 50mins of driving then the instructor wants to head back 10mins before the hour is done. so you drive 40mins 3 days a week because they cut the days. but when u sign up they tell you its 4 hours a day 5x a week. NOPE. LIES... his best friend went to a dif school and he drove 2 hrs 5x a week. so while your on your search for a school, make sure to ask HOW LONG AND HOW MANY DAYS a week you drive, because driving a big rig stick shift is way dif then a car. the shifts are opposite and the time driving is valuable but they cut u off. it was not worth it here. we wouldn't of chose this school had we known this. Also, the trucks are all beat up with the check engine light. they have too many students per instructor. and they don't care about you just signing more people up. read more
