@dungl I can assure you that there was no "misinterpretation" the woman who did my nails asked me if I wanted a pedicure upwards of 25 times from the moment I got there even as I was leaving I literally had to lie and tell her I'd be back just to get out of there. Ok, I quit. Never again. Here's the conversation I had today: Can I help you? I'd like a manicure please. Manicure/pedicure? No, just a manicure. You want gel? No, just this one here. I have the color in gel. No, I just want this color. Ok, sit down. Time passes while she starts on my manicure. You work today? Yes I just got off. You work in Elgin? No Austin. Why you not want gel? Seriously, can't I just get a manicure without the harassment? And when is the last time the place was cleaned? Oh, and you know when other nail salons give you real washcloths to dry your hands? Not this place. Brown scratch paper towels. I try to support my local small town businesses but screw this. I'll go to the other place. read more

I do not recommend this salon for a acrylic manicure. I went in around 1ish on Friday was seen right away, thats the only good thing. Kim assisted me, older lady with over 17 yrs exp. Well after that long you think she would know how to do nails. Also listening to your customers is important, she doesn't. I have large nail beds and deep cuticles and theres only one way to do my nails that covers the whole bed and even though i told her this she still did a very poor job. At the end she asked if everything ok and i told her no and showed her the mistakes she made. She didn't care. Lesson learned...never go back! read more

Well to start the place is under new management so I figure I'll try them after a bad nail job a few hours before at a different solon. I ask for a nude pink and I got a bright clear pink that I'll be stuck with for a few weeks. They started by removing what I had then someone else a young guy was putting tips on then he was cutting them really bad I told him he gave me an attitude so I ask for the owner to do my nails. No one apologized for his rudeness. The owner didn't do great he didn't filed my nails right and the SNS looks like I need a fill, I just freaking got them done. Not the right color not the right shape. I got the worst pedicure the lady had no clue was she was doing someone else had to help her but, one of the worst pedicures I've ever had. Won't be back I'm done with bad nail techs and owners who don't care. I spent $100 there and another $50 at the other place for bad service. read more

Well I've read the posts and went here because someone bought me a gift card. Let me tell you o was extremely hesitant. I got Kim. She did my full set and pedi. Pedicure went great, get to the full set. I showed a pic from Instagram with s&s nails. I could tell instantly she was out of her comfort zone. She kept referring to gel but I made it clear what i wanted and chose an easier pic on pinterest. Did I get picture perfect no, did she try even though it wasn't her norm? Yes. Problem is places in small towns quit evolving. They seemed to want to stay with the basic. I will post the pinterest pic and what I got. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad for someone who isn't use to what I asked for. The three stars is because we couldn't communicate well due to language barrier and because she coughed several times without covering her mouth. read more

I have been to Pro Nails several times without issue. But Then....a week ago I went and got a pedicure. 3 days later I ended up with an infected big toe. I am not sure what happened, but I ended up having to see a doctor where I am now on antibiotics and part of my toe nail had to be removed. I am in so much pain!!!!!!!!!! I am 32 weeks pregnant so of course I can't take any pain medications except for Tylenol. I will NEVER go here again. read more

Paid $75 for a gel mani/pedi. Let's start with first impressions. It's cluttered, dirty and everything looks worn out. The chairs are tattered and ripped. They use foil as a place mat while your nails are drying. Moving onto the pedi, decent massage and exfoliating experience. Every tool she used on me, she put right back into her drawer. One of the orange scrubbers had spots of black and gray on it. The massaging chair was making funny sounds and left me sore the next day (never experienced that before). Now for the nails, almost all of them feel jagged and just two days later they are starting to peel away. I also witnessed another nail tech eating some sort of fruit with a pit in it. She spit the pits into her hands and then laid them on her work site. During this a customer walked in for a mani and she did not wash her hands or stop chewing to greet and begin working on her. Random thing, while I was getting a mani, the woman asked me how much my engagement ring cost and then showed me hers and told me the smaller ones are better. I do not recommend this business what so ever. read more

The worst experience I've ever had. During a pedicure she cut me. It was literally gushing blood. She tried to act like it was no big deal. When I made a big deal of it, she and her coworkers started acting very sarcastic and talking very loud in Vietnamese. No it wasn't my imagination. It was very obvious. And I have no problem with immigrants, but none of them spoke any English and pretended they could. I tried to tell them off but they didn't understand me. Pissed me off even more. I use to go here every month to get a pedicure. All the ladies are very nice and the prices are great. I'm always satisfied with my nails. However, I went in one day and they had a new employee, who did my pedicure. I told her I wanted an acrylic Pedicure, which was $25. So she does the pedicure, rubbing my legs and all that. While clipping my nails, she was digging super hard and it was very painful. Almost all of my toes were bleeding on the sides. (No I don't have ingrown toe nails) I had been there for 2 hours already, and she finally is finished. My nails were okay, not as good as they usually are done. When I go to pay, she tells me it's $50! The sign says $25, and I tried explaining to her that is what I asked for but she yelled at me saying I was wrong! I don't ever get upset or complain about a service or business, but I was furious because I had only brought the amount of money I planned on spending, and I have gotten this plenty of times and never been charged $50. My sister-in-law ended up paying the rest, and I did NOT tip that lady. Everyone else is amazing but this new lady was horrible and rude. I still go back, but I never want that lady doing my nails again. read more

Pro Nails should be shut down for unsanitary conditions. I never saw the nail techs santize their pedicure tools in between customers. As a result, I caught a nasty toe nail fungus from going there in late 2014 and have not been able to get a pedicure since because I've been treating my toe nails for the last year and a half. And like the other reviews, the nail techs are not careful and I have been cut by them several times. And they laughed it off. I do not recommend this salon to any one. read more
