Not a Heavenly Experience. Do NOT go here if you want an inverted bob! I spent $250 (did not incl tip) for the first haircut in my life that had me in tears, and I'm almost 50. I arrived for my appt with photos of what I wanted and the "senior stylist" did not mention she didn't have that skill set. While she was cutting I even asked her if she needed to see pics again of which she declined. I mentioned that I wasn't seeing the angle and she assured me it was there and would be visible when she was done. Upon "completion I had a regular bob, I asked how much of an angle did she cut and she then replied with 1/2". I lost a lot of length in the front of my bob and I explained I was growing it out. So she said that's why she didn't cut very much from the back. But I lost almost 3" on the front. And was planning a long inverted bib during my grow out process.she could fix unless it was wet so I would need to return to fix it. I was watery eyed and the owner said "give it a few weeks to see if it will grow in you." then she exited the salon for the evening. I returned 3 days later for a fix, and it got even worse, esp as I asked to not curl it so I could see the cut. It took me several months to write this but as I got my hair fixed and now feel on the right path yesterday I decided I need to warn others. I wish I could post a photo! I feel like it may be a bit mean to the stylist however i paid the most I've ever paid and got the worst cut I've ever received, it's worth warning others. I will say my two previous visits there with Olivia were about $30 less and I was happy with the results, but not as inverted as I was hoping for. My mom also found a stylist there that she likes. But where the salon call me Tue to reschedule my Sat appt I had with Olivia, the day before departing in a epic girls trip to Paris, I ended up with a diff "Sr stylist" and was told Olivia would also be there during my appt to assist. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I started going here only because it was conveniently located in my hometown, so I gave it a shot. First of all, the prices are ridiculous for the quality and service you receive. High prices for this below average salon... No thank you! Anyways, I got my hair cut twice here before my stylist quit and moved to a different salon. I followed my stylist to her new salon but still went to Heavenly Hair for my nails. After being talked into trying a wax by their esthetician because she was "the best anywhere around" (her words, LOL) I decided to get a face wax. Let me tell you - this lady cared nothing about me and was only trying to sell me product the entire time! She was so concerned with bragging on herself and trying to get me to buy products that she BURNED MY CHIN WITH THE HOT WAX! I jumped and said it burned but she iIGNORED me and kept talking on herself. I was terrified and could just feel the damage done to my skin immediately. The receptionist came into the room and said that her next client was waiting - I'd never experienced that sort of service. Clara immediately rushed me out of the waxing room with no after care instructions or guidance. I went home and the next day I had SECOND DEGREE BURNS across and below my chin. I had to see two different dermatologists and take a week off of work while letting my skin heal. I have a 3-inch scar below my chin and my chin is now constantly red and will never go back to my skin tone. What blows my mind is that me and my mom both sent the owner, Tonya, pictures of my burn and was never offered a refund nonetheless, nor compensation for the trauma I went through. All she said was that I was in her prayers. Seriously!?! Save your time AND money...go to a real, professional salon that wouldn't have estheticians such as Clara but that would at the VERY LEAST refund the service, not to mention the compensation for my time off work, medical bills for TWO dermatologists and the three different antibiotic wound creams I had to buy for my burn. NEVER GO TO HEAVENLY HAIR! EVER!!! read more

To make a long story short, they have a new nice place, but apparently after reading the previous reviews, they have the same HORRIBLE SERVICE! I had an appointment for nails and brow tint. They told me they would get to me after 1 walk-in person for my brow tint. I waited an hour and a half while my friend was getting her nails done. It took them 1 1/2 hours to tell me my appointment was set another 45 minutes later. Unacceptable. Not once did they try to accommodate me or get someone else to help me. The icing on the cake was when I tried to get someone else to help me, ON MY OWN, and she said "No, but thanks for asking", as if I was doing her a favor. After I left I got a follow up call, it was "I hope YOU can be understanding of the situation"......As if I was in the wrong or just being difficult to handle. The service here is AWFUL and not worth the price AT ALL. If I were at the Avant Aveda Salon at Gateway in Austin, they would have gone out of their way to make sure I was happy and it would have cost me the same amount. I'll take this as a lesson learned to not stray from my usual girl. Convenience is NOT always worth it. Think twice before you waste your money here, unless you just like giving your hard earned cash to RUDE people. I will say, she did offer for me to come back and get a FREE brow tint at a later date but there's no way I would go back there even if it was free. NO, BUT THANKS FOR ASKING!!!! ************************************************************************************************* Prior to this experience: I have gotten a spray tan from the same lady who was supposed to do my brow tint and it turned out good. She was very nice at this time. She didn't speak hateful to me when I had the bad experience. HORRIBLE SERVICE! I had an appointment for 2 PM on a Saturday, and arrived a few minutes early. There were 3 girls at the desk. No one even acknowledged that I was there. I waited a few minutes, and then I told the girl that I was there for an appointment. She still did not say anything to me, but looked at her friend and said that I was there for an appointment. The girl that was supposed to do my body wrap then said "follow me". She took me to the break room, and that is where she was going to do the wrap. It was a very junky room. I asked her about the private candle lit room that I had read about on their website, and she said that it was being used. This was an expensive appointment that I was very excited about. I was very unhappy! I cancelled my appointment, and left. Will not ever go back! read more

I switched to Heavenly Hair after I had 2 BAD experiences with another hair salon in Elgin. I like my hair cut specifically so I decided to give this salon a shot despite the bad reviews. The first stylist that I used did a fantastic job on my hair. It was a little short but after a couple of weeks it was perfect. My next appt was already scheduled and the stylist was no longer working there so they set me up with Olivia. I am extremely pleased with Olivia and the service I have received at Heavenly Hair. I have always been treated professionally by the staff and I have not had to wait at all to get started. I have not met the owner but this far everyone has been very professional and courteous. The only reason this salon is not getting a 5 is because I think the price of a 5 min trim may be a little expensive but I assure you it will not keep me from going back. I have lived in this area for almost 2 years and this is the first place I have liked. I probably should have second guessed coming to this location after my friend was induced with second degree burns by a botched facial waxing. I had been tanning here for almost two months by purchasing back to back tanning memberships. One for $30 unlimited tanning a month, and $20 for the next month. Sounds like too good of a deal because it is. $20 a month gets you Tinea Versicolor, a skin fungus, apparently. Several times (30 or less) I've come to this location very early in the morning with the tanning rooms not properly stocked with towels or antibacterial spray. Their clean linen smells unclean, like tanning lotion, as if they're not actually washed. A few weeks ago, my husband noticed white spots on my back and the next day I went to my primary family doctor. I was told I had Tinea Versicolor, a skin fungus that can thrive in dirty tanning beds. She told me the fungus was also a form of E. Coli. I stopped going to the salon immediately and began my two week trial of antibiotics to clear up it up. This salon asks the customer to spray down the bed after every use themselves, they do not regulate the tanning rooms on a daily basis and leave it up to the customer to sanitize the equipment properly after every use, although they don't always make the needed supplies readily accessible. Many people are lazy and do not clean up after themselves & have no respect for cleanliness standards. The salon should know that. I think myself and others would be willing to pay more a month for them to reach the necessary sanitation standards. I also read that the salon asking the customers to wipe the bed themselves is not to code. The carpets are dirty and look like they haven't been vacuumed in months either. I am overall extremely dissatisfied. read more

I am a black female and was looking for a salon that actually knew how to handle african american hair. I seriously couldn't find anyone, but I got lucky and found Erica Smith with heavenly hair through a review on yelp actually lol! I wanted extensions in my hair, but was tired of micros and deff didn't want tracks sewn or glued into my hair, so I met Erica for a consultation and pretty much liked her instantly. Super friendly and informative. We decided that the fusion technique would be best for me. I have never had this done or met anyone that talked about having it done, so I didn't really know what to expect. I walked into the salon and was struck by how clean and swanky it looked on the inside... very nice set up, lots of space, super friendly people working there. I was offered beverages upon entry and greeted with smiles from everyone. Erica sat me down and started right away. She kept me entertained, which was awesome. They did my makeup as well, which looked super badass! (Badass, as in awesome) We were done in what seemed like no time at all. I am not a vain person, but when I took a look at myself in the mirror, I almost kissed my reflection lol! It didn't even look like me! I can't tell where my hair ends and the extensions begin b/c it matches sooo perfectly. My mom and aunt were both fooled by it, both complimenting me on how much my hair has grown and how healthy it looked. Almost didn't want to tell them that there were "enhancements" involved =). I've been here twice for 2 different services. The first was a hair cut and second was a manicure. I was a walk in and at first a little hesitant because the stylist they gave me had just finished washing her hair for some reason. The haircut was about what you'd expect for the price. Good wash, nice stylist, no forced conversation. She didn't cross check the cut but it turned out mostly even. I have long hair and like a basic layer cut because I'm low maintenance with it. The styling took a little longer than I'd like but I wasn't in a hurry at all. The stylist listened to me and the product she used was awesome. The curl she put in after the cut lasted for 2 days. I have no idea what she used but it was awesome! I decided to get my daughter's haircut as well and she did a great job!!! She evened it out (we were growing it out from a bob) and my kiddo was super happy with how she looked. She also did a bang trim and didn't cut them too short, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. And it was super affordable, so overall, happy with our experience!! The manicure I got on a subsequent visit was GREAT! The nail tech was friendly, complimentary and thorough. It was my first manicure ever (I am now a reformed lifelong nail biter) and she made me a believer. I decided to do gel and was really happy with the outcome!! She listened to what I wanted and even made suggestions to help me decide. Had I gone to the places I've been to since, I may not have decided to keep with the manicures. She didn't nick my cuticles, the hand massage was great and it lasted without chipping for a couple weeks. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because there could be more seating in the front, I don't want to fill out paperwork while I get a haircut (if it was an an electronic form on something like a tablet, I wouldn't mind as much), and there was a lot of people going in and out of the back while I was getting my nails done. It was hard to enjoy the manicure when they stopped by to talk to the tech. We will be back again and I love how y'all offer Facebook specials, everyone is friendly, the salon is kept pretty clean and it's easy to get worked in on short notice. read more
