I bought a half flat today and 80% were rotten and inedible. I have noticed the quality go down the last couple years but this was awful.

I always find amazing deals. I like to "shop small" and support local establishments, of course, but it's nice to earn points for my Amazon account as well as find almost everything I need at decent prices in one stop. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, too. Their hot and salad bars, bakery, pizza bar and hot chicken sections are gone already, as they are closing in two weeks, BUT I found today when I shopped that they had cut prices dramatically on many, many items that I buy, and from healthy brands that I like. I spent very little for quality food items. That was always a plus here - they carry the mainstream brands, their own brand, some of the Whole Foods 365 brand, and many organic and hard to find brands at decent prices. I am sorry to see yet another grocery store leave this spot, though there are others in the area. I will continue to shop for deals until they close, and I hope others will take advantage of it as well.

Holy moly am I impressed by this local farmers market…read more The Long Beach Southeast Farmer's Market is located on the backside of 2nd & PCH in the Alamitos Bay Marina parking lot. It happens each Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM. This market is filled with all your essentials. Tons of fruits, veggies, cheeses, meats, baked goods, flowers, house plants, dips, and more. There was even a bagel spot with a line about 50 people deep. I am my best self at a farmers market, but often leave with an empty wallet. I snagged hummus, kombucha, green juice, and a floral arrangement in one visit. A few things that make this spot incredibly special: 1. there's a plethora of parking and it's free for the first 2-hours. 2. They literally have a dog valet where you can drop off your pet before shopping the local vendors. Quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen. 3. It's literally hosted at the marina with a gorgeous view of the boats and water. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon picnic with your farmers market goodies. Highly highly recommend adding this to your weekend itinerary.

They have a variety of bread with limited ingredients. My favorites are, Gilroy Garlic Sourdough with chunks of garlic, Rosemary Garlic Sourdough, Miners Sourdough, Cranberry Walnut and the Cinnamon bread. I have also found a vendor who sells some hard to find squash. Although end of season, I purchased a honey butternut squash and this past Sunday, a Red Kuri Squash. The carrots in a variety of colors are in season and so deliciously sweet when roasted. During my last visit, I also purchased a watermelon radish. They now sell meat, seafood and have music for kids. You won't be disappointed with this Farmer's Market!

You could definitely find fruits, vegetables, yogurt, breads, and honey; however, what brings this from 3 stars to 4 stars are the variety of food vendors that attend the market. As you drive by, you'll tend to see about five to eight food trucks serving Jamaican, Philly Cheesesteaks, Birria, Tacos, Pupusas, Churros, and American BBQ. My favorite vendors here are Battambong BBQ, which has a great reputation for their barbecue with Cambodian flavors and Churros Don Abel Jr, for their made-to-order churros. Unfortunately, Battambong was not present this week (as the chef was on vacation for the week), but I'll be back soon for Battambong's delicious smoked brisket and Cambodian-style sausages. Overall, this is a small, local farmer's market with excellent food choices; however, you can definitely find the fresh fruits and vegetables if that's what you seek.

We finally decided today would be the day! It took a few turns around the towne center area to find the farmers market. When we got there the place was pretty packed. Everything looked and smelled so fresh. Many vendors were eager to give out samples as we passed by trying to decide what we wanted to buy. My sister had tried the juice vendor before, so we knew we wanted to get some fresh juice. Tasted soo good. Will have to come back for more of this. The price is $6-7 per glass bottle. We also ended up with an unplanned purchase of pears (red and green ones) and apples from a fruit vendor at the end of the farmers market. The nice man insisted we try his pears, which we kindly declined at first, but he was so passionate about wanting us to try his fruit we gave in. He sliced up a red pear and gave me the whole thing to eat. After one bite, I understood why he wanted to give out samples because there was no way you could walk away without making a purchase! Even my baby sister who isn't a bug fruit person to begin with enjoyed the samples. Their pears at a glance didn't look that good, so I can see why they needed to get people to taste it. Lol. This vendor really stood out to me and will be back to support their business and their delicious fruit. On the way back to the front of the market, we noticed there was coffee from seven syllables. I've been wanting to try their coffee, so I was glad to see them! I ordered the ube latte and my sister got their vanilla latte. My ube latte looked like it'd be super sweet, but to my surprise it was not sweet and could taste their coffee which I appreciated! I would order this again. Overall, very good experience and can't wait to come back.

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. Honestly, Long Beach has more wine bars than most surrounding areas, and since the South Bay is packed with breweries, if you're tired of beer this is your sign to switch it up. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex. There is seating indoors and outdoors. It's minimal, but somehow we always manage to find a table. The service is consistently great and the owner is wonderful. She will be leaving soon and she will absolutely be missed, but what she has built here will definitely be cherished. The new owners fell in love with the place, so you can expect it to be well taken care of and to remain just as charming. Parking is street only, so read the signs carefully so you don't end up with a ticket. If you go on a Sunday there are no restrictions or time limits, which makes it even better.
