I really wanted some fried rice. So, I got sesame chicken with fried rice. They have lunch specials, that really drew me to them. I don't want to spend $20.00 for lunch. This was $10.00 GPS was trying to take me to the building in front of Public's. But it's in the same building as Public's By the UPS store and Great Clips I was greeted as soon as I came in. Service was good. They have a lot to choose from. Even on the lunch menu. I placed my order she said it would take about 10 min. Once I opened the package, the rice looked......like I've never seen fried rice this color. Ok, no worries, maybe there seasoning has a different color. The dryest red curry I've ever had. Barely any sauce. I got spicy, but can barely taste any spice, it's maybe the equivalent of a 2 or 3 out at another restaurant on a scale of 1-5. The dish also has mushrooms and cilantro which is a little weird, but I can deal with that. It's the dryness that makes this dish inedible for me. I tried and got about half way, but I seem to have eaten the tiny bit of liquid I had with my dish already and I used it sparingly with my rice as there was barely any to begin with. I'm not sure why this place has such rave reviews by people. If you like authentic Thai, this is definitely not the place to go. Chicken wasn't very good; pork was very tender and good. My issue with both dishes was the execution; instead of adding the cilantro leaves to the Pad Thai, they just threw the entire sprig on top. For the Panang Curry, the vegetables were gigantic chunks; would've been better if they were diced into easier bites. They were accommodating in making my Thai Basil chicken a bit spicier and with the veggies I wanted, but the only rice available is Chinese white rice; poor substitute for jasmine rice. Very close to my new house. I eat A LOT of Asian food -- and get very picky about where I eat. For Take-Out, the Thai Basil is good, hot Chinese food for the money. There are coupons on the menu for an appetizer or 2 Liter soda. My favorite is the chicken and broccoli. Thai Basil has both Thai and Chinese selections for lunch and dinner as well as delivery for orders over $15. That is a bonus! read more
