I just finished a management forum and wanted something Quick and easy. China Dragon is 10 minutes away. I did not call ahead. The restaurnat itself was vacant when I ordered. i ordered ateamed chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce on the side with a ice tea to go. Not a complicated order at all. The food was nice and fresh. During Covid, this restaurant alwys had a line literally on the sidewalj. It is off Baymeadows amongs Mamma pizza and Walmart. I was so enthralled the my order. Food was to go and fast. However when we got it home and I opened it up, I started seeing all my sesame seed chicken was tiny bits of more flour than chicken. They sauce as New Yorker was off to light and sweet. By far there is another place I'll go to over this. It's farther and pricey but way better. If your looking for NY sesame sees chicken this place ain't it. My fiance got the orange chicken and his pieces were bigger but still the flavor was way to light. Just ehh. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food here. It is incredible every single time I go. Any special requests I make, they are happy to oblige (I don't usually make them, but when I do.) Ask for extra sauce and they give you an abundance. Food always tastes hot and fresh, it reheats well. I'm a weirdo that loves their lo mein cold the next day, but it still tastes just as wonderful. When I was overcharged once, they personally called me and worked through the refund right there on the phone with me, which they didn't have to do. Their prices have never changed, either. It can seem pricey, but they give you enough food to last several days. The little shop is always clean, you can't go in I assume because COVID changed things, but they will meet you at the door with a smile. I don't usually tip for takeout, but I don't mind tipping here because they genuinely go the extra mile. I would literally go so many extra miles to get China Dragon, though. I was quite skeptical after reading the latest health inspection report but I gave it a shot anyway. Ordered the food online and they gave me a time when it would be ready. I arrived a few minutes early and opened the door that is blocked by a table and paid for the order. The looks of the place was not the most appealing and I was just hoping not to get sick, I didn't so kudos for that. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, moo-goo-gai- pan and pork fried rice all cooked well, hot and flavorful. If you are looking for good Chinese food - This is the place for you. I've enjoyed my meals both times I've been here. I think the first time I got orange chicken and second time the sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice. The egg roll, however is a bit greasy. Also, I've called my orders in each time before arriving - 15 or so minutes and I still had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes when I arrive. It's okay since my food is fresh. Called & ordered takeout from the China Dragon which had great reviews online. When I arrived I saw that the door appeared to be blocked by a table. Walked around the corner wall but there was no other entrance. Came back to the door & opened it which was blocked by a table so you couldn't enter the restaurant. A young man came to the door & I told him I was picking up a takeout order. When I got home & opened the containers of food I was surprised to see an abundance of mushrooms & chunks of zucchini in the moo goo gai pan. I really like both but the mushrooms were too many & zucchini I have never seen in that particular dish. The white rice was over cooked but almost mushy. The fried rice was okay but not that good. I went to get my taxes done and saw this restaurant next door. There were 4 or 5 customers waiting outside and I thought "this place must be special". I read the reviews and decided to order dinner that night. As it turns out, there are always people waiting outside because you are blocked from entering the business. It is take out only. Show up the door and someone either takes your order or hands you your online order at the front door. I ordered something called Romeo and Juliet which the menu describes as "Jumbo shrimp, chunks of flank steak sautéed with broccoli, red pepper and water chestnuts in a kung pao sauce". If this were a kung pao sauce my recommendation is to not order the kung pao dish. My dinner was mostly vegetables including onions, zucchini, carrots, mushrooms and other veggies with two jumbo (?) not very fresh tasting shrimp and virtually no flank steak. And where were the red peppers? The broccoli had been way overcooked to the point it was limp. Had I wanted a mostly vegetable dinner, there were other less expensive choices. It was neither tasty nor hot (spicy or temperature) and was definitely false advertising on their menu. I highly recommend staying as far away as possible from this restaurant which should not be too difficult as you can't get close enough to get in anyhow. You have many other better choices. I truly cannot find 1 positive thing to say about this place. I placed my order with the kid behind the counter. Simple order - sweet & sour chicken, white rice and 3 pork egg rolls. After I paid $10+, I waited. I asked the kid if I could get extra sweet and sour sauce. He said something and moved on. When my food came out, I looked in the bag and no extra sauce. The lady who gave me my food said it would be another dollar. The kid behind the counter never told me that but he was interested in his cell phone. The pork egg rolls were bland. No flavor at all. I had to saturate them in duck sauce just to get some flavor. The chicken had more bredding than chicken and the rice was just rice. Very sorry I stopped there. Will not be going back. At 4 pm I ordered Wonton Soup and a Pork Egg Roll. NO spoon included for my soup. NO napkins included. He offered NO sauces for the Egg Roll. The Egg Roll is MAINLY the fried outer casing. HARDLY ANYTHING inside!! I will NOT order this Pork Egg Roll again. I will also stand at the door and OPEN the bag BEFORE I walk away. I will have to remember to ASK for sauces. Even though it is carry out, I always tip. However, I will NOT tip again. I usually get their lunches. Even though their prices went up, they do give you a lot of food at lunchtime! Been looking for a good Chinese place since our fav closed up a year or more ago. Decided to give China Dragon a try even though they are only doing take out and glad we did. Ordering was quick and easy and food was ready upon arrival and still plenty hot making it back to Mandarin. My wife got a combo sweet & sour pork with pork fried rice & a pork egg roll. Only thing she complained about was that the pork wasn't bad crispy as she likes but that was most likely due to it having steamed in the container. Other than that she enjoyed the flavors and the rice as well. I had the egg roll which I enjoyed as well. I got roasted pork Lo-Mein & a small (which wasn't very small) order of pork fried rice both were very tasty. One thing we were happy to see was a place that was actually serving "PORK" as its becoming harder to find Chinese restaurants that have it predominantly on their menus. These folks make excellent "American" Chinese food, but lately they've taken to waiting to cook your order until you arrive to pick it up, whether you order on line or by phone. I'm finding it rather inconvenient, and have mentioned to the staff that I will be taking my business elsewhere if this practice continues. When I pick up tonight, twenty minutes after ordering remotely, I'll be finding another restaurant if my order hasn't been started yet. We went here for lunch. My coworker said it was the best Chinese food that he's had in a long time. I ordered the combination rice. It was pretty good. I ordered it minus the pork, but it didn't have any beef in it either. I've heard from several places that beef is expensive right now so maybe that's why there was none in my rice.
