This by far is my favorite restaurant I can never say enough fantastic euphemisms for the food that I have had. I can honestly say with all the times I have been there and it's more than I can count, never have. I had a bad meal! The food is always the freshest and it's always served piping hot. Their vegetables are just crunchy enough to know they're fresh but still have their flavor. Their portions are ginormous. You definitely get your moneys worth with the highest quality dinner or lunch you could ever ask. The service beyond stellar! Because I go there so much and they know me so well I don't even have to tell them what I want to drink they bring it automatically. They truly treat their customers like family and that's a rarity these days! They truly care about their customers and they remember who they are. I listened to them with other tables and they take just as an active interest in them as they do Me. That's the sign of quality. I love the ambience because they always have fresh flowers and they're always dust free. So many times you'll go into places in the plants have dust on them not here. Someone truly takes care of the greenery and it is green! It's also very interesting to watch the TV screens as they do demonstrations of various Thai food preparation. I've been to numerous Thai places in Jacksonville. None can hold a candle to this one. I'm a huge fan of this local Thai spot! It's right next to our favorite pub, always delicious and reliable, reasonably priced, and great for either takeout or dining in. I love the fried tofu, chicken satay, coconut soup and Panang curry. My husband is a fan of the pad Thai as well. Honestly, you can order anything and it won't disappoint. It was absolutely freezing tonight and warm Thai food sounded like the answer...and it totally was!!! We started with the egg rolls which were fried to perfection with wonderful flavor! I chose the drunken noodle with chicken & my husband got the pad Thai with chicken. Both were incredible! My noodles were medium spice, which was spicy hot but not like burn your mouth off hot. I loved them! The vegetables were super fresh & cooked well. Hubs pad Thai was also very fresh & his sauce was a firm medium as well. One of the finest Thai cuisine place that me and my wife has visited recently to be honest. As soon as I walked in the service team greeted us and asked us to sit we're ever we liked. The ambiance and the atmosphere is very well decorated and welcoming you can see the decorations and the interiors are very well done. I must say our server was very very kind and I really appreciate all the help and suggestions that she gave to me and my wife to make our meals so enjoyable and tasty. She is very kind and lovely and has a great personality. Her name is YINGLUK. I highly recommend her and I ask people to ask for her if they ever visit this amazing restaurant. For appetiser we had their spring rolls. It was perfectly cooked and their sweetie chilli sauce and dip was just amazing. For our entree I had a glass door noodles with veggies which came along with jasmine rice which was perfectly cooked and it was amazing and tasted incredible. My wife had sukiyaki with veggies and glassdoor noodles it was soupy and delicious she enjoyed every bite. The place was empty when I arrived. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken pad Thai and asked for it to be medium spicy. Everything came out fresh and tasted great. The pad Thai had a delicious flavor, however, there was zero spiciness. The servers were all kind and attentive, and I was very happy with my visit. The restaurant is itself is kept very clean. First time here and it's a very quaint little Thai restaurant! Has tons of Thai paintings on the wall and decorations. The menu is the typical Thai offerings, but they also have a special menu that has so many extra interesting items that's usually not seen at Thai restaurants. The lunch menu comes with a soup that is perfectly seasoned and filled with fresh vegetables like broccoli/carrots and also tofu. Now for the entree, I really wanted to try the Khao Soi (curry noodle soup) or the Pad Khring, but you can really gauge the authenticity of a Thai restaurant by their Green Curry, so that's what I went with! So it came out super fast, like less than 5 minutes after I ordered it. Which is great for me because I was really hungry, but makes me think it was pre-made already and just scooped into a bowl with each order. The flavors were decent but not the best I have had in Jacksonville. It was a very good portion size and filled with hearty vegetables like Thai as well as Chinese eggplant, green beans, green/red bell peppers, and bamboo. I ordered medium heat which wasn't very spicy for me (I usually get 4 out 5 at other Thai restaurants). Overall it was decent Thai food but not the best. Late night dinner and for starters ordered the 5 piece Crab Rangoons and Tom Kha Shrimp soup. Both were really delicious. The main course was the Shrimp Pad Thai and the Red Curry with rice. It was alright, but the noodles were a little burnt though. Thai Iced Tea was for the drinks and Singha Beer. The restaurant has awesome artwork from Thailand, making it feel more authentic. I love Thai food! I've come here four times now and love this place! Each time, I've brought someone different, and they've all been impressed. The ambiance inside is great and customer service has always been exceptional. The Drunken Noodles and the Pad Woon Sen are both delicious! The Khao Soi soup is phenomenal. The Panang Curry was tasty but probably the weakest dish I've had here. Apps have been yummy also. Flavors here are super authentic and the food packs some good spice if you ask for it. The wife and I wanted to try something new so we found this place off of Yelp and decided to see if it was any good. We walked in around 8pm on a Sunday and because of that it was unbelievably dead. But honestly I love when it's like that because then we have the whole restaurant to ourselves. We started with the Tuptim sampler and omg it was bussin. The sauces were amazing. We loved every bit from the savory rangoons to the flavorful spring roll to the calamari. The wife loves breading, especially anything that reminds her of a fair funnel cake, so the calamari was a big hit with her. The pad Thai was excellent. We chose to get spices on the side and slowly added to it in our individual portions and ohh man with and without the spice it's some of the best pad Thai in town. The star of the show for me is the panang. I tend to judge a place on quality based on if the panang is good or not. And this place did not disappoint. This is some of the best curry if not the best in town. Honestly it's kind of no surprise tho when you notice all the aunties in the kitchen cooking this stuff up. This restaurant reminds me of going to my mom's friends restaurants as a kid and be treated like family in a certain way while still maintaining the professionalism of a restaurant and service. The service was excellent. The food was better than excellent, we will be coming back. If the owner has kids our contributions will be helping fund their schooling by eating in or by ordering takeout. Love finding a great Thai place so close to home. 5/5 stars for us. I have been to this restaurant a few times before. I decided to for lunch on Sunday. The food here is always excellent. I decided to order a vowl of ramen. The bowl of ramen I had was excellent and flavorful as well. The service at this restaurant is always excellent, and they always manage to get my correct. The restrooms are always clean and enjoyable to use. Because no one likes a dirty or messy restroom. The ambiance of this restaurant is excellent as well. I just love the decor of this restaurant. Parking is a little difficult to find, as it is a shared parking lot. I'm definitely returning here again soon. read more

We started with a large wonton soup for our family of 4. Hands down best wonton soup ever with bean sprouts and fresh herb sprigs. My husband ordered the beef lad na, served in a huge soup bowl with very generous portions. We ordered our 5 & 7 year old the pad see ew and it became my husbands favorite dish among the kids as well. Once again, very generous portions and absolutely delicious with a hint of sweetness. I ordered the the pad woon sen, the dish I order at every Thai restaurant I come across. It was hands down the best dish on the table, they all were good but this one takes the cake. I love the thin glass noodles, all the veggies and beef and the savory flavor, but I do prefer more savory over sweet. Throughout our whole meal, our server provided water (it's a rarity these days for drink refills at restaurants) and we appreciated her checking in on us and always greeting us with a smile. This place is awesome! Came here for a family dinner and was very impressed with the hospitality. We first started off the meal with a calamari, Tom Yum soup, dumplings and fried eggrolls which were all very delicious. We also ordered the papaya salad which is very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this dish especially if you want to have something light before the main course. For the main course we ordered the pad Thai, spicy of course, with panang curry and green curry. The dishes come with a side of white rice. The panang curry and green curry's were not too creamy which I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely ask for the Thai chilies on the side which can pack a punch even with a small portion. The pad Thai was also very delicious it was saucy, however great with the other options we ordered. Loved the whole experience here! First the inside is very pretty decorated with wood and small but comfortable. All of the servers were so nice and helpful and one lady we had who sat us was so sweet and talkative helping us choose what to order. all of our food came out fast and warm, the. heroes were both really good and flavorful with a lot of veggies or meat. My family and I made a visit for thai food here only because my husband's Mom's name is also Bounxou. Food did not dissapoint.. flavors were on point and compared to the other thai places around town this one comes close to home cooking. Prices are decent and portions are definitely worth it. We were able to conversate with the owner for a minute or two and the restaurant recently turned over management and they are looking for help. That's the reason I gave a 4 out of 5. Service was a little lacking as far as carryout. I did see an issue with a customer that had put an order in and waited from the time we sat down until the time we finished. Don't believe it was complicated order either but I did feel bad for her experience. My family had ordered the calamari appetizer, fish cake appetizer, lad naa, pad sa ew, curry, pho and seafood plate. Seafood plate was HUGE and had shrimp, scallop, squid and lobster, veggies and noodles. Very tasty. Pho- could use more flavoring. It was on the bland side. Lad naa and pad sa ew had similar flavoring oyster and soy sauce. It came out piping hot which was nice. But also we were hungry lol so it was a little too hot. Curry was delish. AppetiZers were also good. For a party of 5 our bill was decent. Will be back to try out the specials soon! read more

With so many Thai restaurants in this area it's tough to know which ones to try and which ones to avoid. We took a chance on Bounxou Thai and we're glad we did. In addition to familiar Thai curries and pad dishes they have quite the variety to tempt you into trying something new. We started with some fresh spring rolls that came with a generous supply of peanut sauce. I enjoyed the Panyang Curry. It was loaded with tender chicken, carrots, snow peas, zucchini, and a few baby corn. I asked for mild spice and it was flavorful with a bit of heat. My husband had the chicken pad Thai. It was nicely spiced but not hot, had plenty of tasty crushed peanuts and an ample supply of fresh bean sprouts. With the exception of being a bit light on chicken it was delicious and filling. One of my husband's favorite parts here is the ambiance, lovely decor and music quietly playing in the background. (Good for digestion.) The wait staff was attentive and friendly and restaurant was clean and inviting. Bottom line: this place is just plain good. read more
