Just had the worst experience ever.... i had a family emergency and was stranded at the hospital. Ordered food and when they delivered it there were no utensils for me to eat my food with. I called and spoke to a lady w a thicker accent. She didn't know what to say so she gave the phone to someone who probably was not even the owner amd when i told him why I was frustrated he stated that they were closed already, when on their website and on facebook AND Yelp, it said that they were opened for another 15 mins. He then yelled at me saying he didn't understand why I was so mad over a fork and spoon. My point to this guy was that I ordered food out of convenience. I of course was irritated at this point and told him not to charge my tip, bc obviously they didn't deserve my tip if they were just going to yell at me, he was very rude, started huffing and puffing like a young child who didn't get his lollipop and told me that I could keep my tip bc "I probably needed it more than him!!" Then he proceeded to hang up on me. How rude!! I know the owner and I can't believe she would let people like that run her business and make such a name of her business. If the business owner sees this I hope that she takes this as a learning experience to make her business better. Never again, Thai Cafe. I used to love going there but the service has gone to shit over the years. **UPDATE** I also posted the same review on their Facebook page. It seems as though some of their ex employees know who he is, and he isn't very nice overall. He is actually the owner's son. I also cannot go back on to their Facebook page so he probably blocked me. I really do hope that this serves as an eye opener for this kid who is heloing his parent with their family business. Customer service is so crucial to any business that wants to attract and retain their customer base. An amazing place for authentic Thai food. The prices are great for such high quality food. Our waitress was wonderful at answering all of our questions about the different dishes and proper pronunciation. She also let us know that their food is gluten free and non GMO. We got our food very fast, and it was fresh, hot, and wonderful. One of my new top places for Thai food. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was craving Pad Thai and got on the interweb. Thai cafe received more good reviews than bad, so I thought I'd give them a try. Let's start there.. I wanted an appetizer so I went with the sauteed Chicken Wings which the menu claims are stuffed, not by any stretch of my imagination were they stuffed with anything.they were however overcooked and tasteless not to mention I'm guessing they were plucked from a pigeon. Had I known they were not stuffed and soooo very tiny I don't think they would have filled a gnats belly. small and tasteless and overpriced and not what was promised. On to the reason I went there, the Pad Thai plentiful but flavorless, and the shrimp was more than a tad overdone, could have been mistaken for shrimp flavored bubble gum. read more

I can't say better things about this restaurant. I moved out of Sheboygan three years ago and every time I come back I need to make sure to visit the restaurant for my fresh rolls and red curry. I always ask for extra vegetables on the red curry and they never charge extra. Servers are nice especially the older lady who always remembers me when I come back. If you go, make sure you order the curries (especially the red one), fresh rolls, pad thai and the amazing pho. Don't order the duck. I stopped here tonight while visiting town for work training. I chose this place based on all the great reviews but have to say I'm disappointed. The place is so plain that I actually drove past the first time because I thought it was condemned. The Chicken Satay was good but that's sorta hard to mess up. I also kept it simple with Pad Thai for my dinner. This was hugely disappointing. It actually tasted like tomato sauce with sugar in it and the chicken resembled little pieces of ground beef like you would put on a home made taco. Surprisingly good for the location, Thai Cafe has some great traditional thai dishes. The Tom Ka Gai (coconut chicken soup) is to die for here. The fried rice is kind of a pedestrian choice, but excellent nonetheless, as is the Pad Thai. Their curries are decent, although their version of "spicy" is not actually all that hot. They do give you sriracha at your table, though, so you can spice up your own food if need be. I'm not sure if they include hot sauce if you order curry for take-out, so you may have to be prepared to add your own heat at home. I would not recommend the pho here, sadly, as I found it somewhat lacking. Perfectly edible and reasonably priced, but just not that well executed. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. We ordered the shrimp rolls for our appetizer and they were very good. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the curry sauce that it was served in was absolutely excellent! It was incredibly flavorful. My boyfriend got the chicken pad Thai, and it was some of the best Pad Thai that we've had in a long time (we've both eaten a ton of pad Thai in our days, because we both are culinarians and lovers of Thai food) Food came out fast & hot, and the servers were very nice too. My only complaint was that they need to be more responsive to spice requests. The server told us about the spice levels that are from 1-5, 5 being very spicy. If a server is going to ask you how hot you want a food item, it should follow through. I requested it to be about a 3, or average spice. It was a journey for my tongue and I had a good time toughing through the heat. It wasn't bad by any means, I truly did enjoy my food. It was quite delicious but much hotter than I had requested. We had ordered another pad thai and yellow chicken curry to bring home to the rest of his family and requested that the spice levels on both dishes to be around a 2, which should be fairly mild with a kick. We tasted it when we got home and it was equally as hot as the dishes we ate. So, if they ask you how hot you want it, you either say, "No hot spice at all" or "I want it as hot as you can make it!" there's no in-between guys. Just a FYI! This place is GREAT for people who love spicy food! This place is a must go, and very underrated! I'm telling you that you won't be disappointed. For only 8 dollars, you've got yourself a fantastic meal and a smiling tummy. read more

I didn't expect the absolute best Thai food in Sheboygan but this was at least acceptable.The ambience, food and restrooms were more like a standard Midwestern chop suey joint featuring Thai cuisine. The food was good but not exceptional, although the pumpkin curry was verging on excellent. The vegetables in the pad gra prow were approaching overcooked and weren't very crispy and the basil was negligible, but the rice noodle were perfect. The portions were very ample and the prices reasonable. I am a bit of a rice snob, and expect rice to be reasonable well prepared at any Asian restaurant so I was disappointed that the rice seemed to overcooked in too much water, the grains were all blown out and mushy and the flavor and aroma did not seem to be jasmine rice which should be standard at a Thai restaurant. Overall, an acceptable choice for Asian food at a reasonable price. read more

We discovered this restaurant when I saw their sign say that they had Pho Noodle soup, and I was in the mood for some Pho. We had the Pho and also ordered the Panang chicken. Both dishes were good and the the Panang chicken has some great flavor. We've come here many times since and we usually get the Duck Curry and the Kraprow fried rice with chicken. I have been going to the Thai Cafe on and off for eight years now. I am somewhat of a tough critic so although I have enjoyed many great meals here there are some things that could use improvement. Many times the food is great but there is a lack of consistency. The decor and interior could use some updating. The service is usually at least mediocre. Prices and portions are reasonable. I love this place. I tried other local Thai restaurant in town and I think this is the best. The closest I've ever tasted to an actual Authentic Homemade Thai cooking from an actual Thai Native. I know they modified the recipe and cut down on some of the spices to cater to our taste. I've eaten real Thai/Laos food and it is delicious but might be too strong/spicy for the newbies. read more

Well this restaurant deserve zero star in my opinion. I specifically asked the girl who picked my call whether they did home delivery and she said yes. She made me spell out my street address and asked for directions to reach me which l gave.i live just a mile away from the place but was too sick go out to pickup.she said they'd deliver in 45 minutes. Well I waited for about hour and a half and I called them back. This time a guy picked the call and lied to me that they tried calling me but couldn't reach me and he made up a street name and said the address I gave was wrong. While talking to him he accidentally told me the truth, he was the only waiter at that time and they didn't have a delivery guy. If they had told me this earlier I would have understood and left it at that. But the fact that they tried to made me look like a lier. Well they lost a family of customers permanently. Then I called up another Thai restaurant which is about 4 miles away from my place. They delivered the food at my house in 30 minutes and the nice lady also brought a cup of soup for free because I sounded sick to her. See the difference in hospitality. read more

I do like this place although I don't go here as often as Thai Golden Palace on Michigan Ave. This place is still really good also. The service here is phenomenal. They get your food out to you within 15 of ordering if not less. My favorite dish here has to be the seafood pad thai and they give you a good amount of noodles. The green curry here is also really good. Again, chicken is what I normally pick for my choice of meat. There's just something about the tender chicken soaking in the cococut green curry. Mmm, delicious. Also, during the night time on the weekends, this place turns into a karaoke/dance place for the "older" Asian crowd. I'm not a big fan of going there late at night on the weekends but what I do like is that if I'm craving for a bowl of pho at midnight, I can go to Thai Cafe and get it. I believe they serve food up to 1am or later since the places closes at 2am. read more

I've been to this place multiple times. I called to place an order tonight and when I wanted to substitute pork fried rice for the white rice they wouldn't do it. Even though I've had it done many times before. The man claimed that I had to buy the full order of fried rice which was almost $9.00! That was more than my entre! I even explained that I would pay extra to have the fried rice but that I didn't want to waste food and get a bunch of extra rice I was just going to throw away. We picked up on Sunday night, I had one of their entrees & the chicken pad thai. The entree was a cashew type dish w/chicken, it lacked flavor, spice, and actually had some funk associated with every bite. The Pad Thai was decent but just a hair better than the Pad Thai Bowl you buy in the grocery store. I used to love this place but the quality has gone downhill. I do not usually like writing poor reviews, but our experience with take-out at Thai Cafe Restaurant was just bad. The chicken pad thai was incredibly bland and had no visible chicken. The pad khing sod looked and tasted identical to the pad gra prow. They were both very bland and relatively small portions for the price. The plain white rice that came with the dishes was also cooked to a paste and disgusting. For a place that didn't even cook white rice correctly, we sincerely wish we had saved our money and eaten elsewhere. Sorry. read more

I lived in Sheboygan for a little under a year and this was my favorite place by far. The Pad Thai is the best in town in my opinion and so is the Pho. The curry is also decent but definitely not the best dish here. I ate at this place probably around 20 times over a span of 7 months. read more
