We really enjoy dining at this restaurant with our family and young children. Unfortunately, during our last few visits, we've experienced a recurring issue with other guests allowing their children to watch videos or play games on devices at a very loud volume. This isn't a criticism of the children themselves, but rather a reminder that parents should be mindful of those around them. The excessive noise can be disruptive and takes away from what is otherwise a great dining experience. A little consideration and courtesy would go a long way in helping everyone enjoy their meal. My suggestion would be to sit nowhere near the counter. read more

Parkside Family Restaurant is the kind of classic diner that just makes you feel at home the second you walk in. I got seated right away, and everything from the friendly service to the quick turnaround (food hit the table in about 10 minutes) set the tone for a solid experience. I started with a cup of their cream of vegetable soup, and wow--this was the sleeper hit of the meal. Creamy, super flavorful, and seasoned so well that I didn't even reach for the pepper shaker (which is rare for me when it comes to cream soups). Just spot-on. For the main dish, I went with the hot turkey. It came out looking a little suspect--grill marks and a slightly dry appearance--but ended up being way better than expected. The turkey was actually tender and flavorful, and the gravy on top tied it all together. My only complaint? There wasn't enough of that gravy! A double portion would've taken it to the next level. Overall, Parkside is doing diner food right. Great place for a comforting, no-fuss meal. I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is amazing! Clean and outstanding service. Great food and servers were on point. One of the servers was so joyful and pleasant she lit up the room-you could tell shelves her job. Not only was the meal outstanding (I had the meatloaf and my wife had a Gyros sandwich and we both had chicken noodle soup) the price was unbelievably cheap! Where else can you get a 2 course lunch that would fill you up for 2 for $25? If I'm in the area again, I would search it out. Putting this on my list of favorites! read more

Being from out of town and seeing this had 4.5 stars, we decided to try it but were quickly disappointed. The food was mediocre (though my wife thought the soup was good) that said, at least the price was reasonable. The service was incredibly slow and took over 20 minutes to get our food - and we just ordered burgers, and were one of only 4 tables in the restaurant at the time. While the wait staff seemed to enjoy each others company, it would have been nice to get a refill on our sodas - just sayin. read more

Stopped on our way through, and so glad we did! Easy access from the interstate, stopped at 5pm and back on the road in under an hour. Everyone was super friendly, food was delicious and plentiful, price was just right! Really enjoyed the Perch dinner! Highly recommend! read more

This place has very poor service. Went in for lunch. There was only maybe 10 people there. So they where not busy. There was one waitress spending time with a guy talking about dating. And all the others just walked past us. After 20 mins of waiting. We never got drinks. We had to go to a different restaurant to get service. I tried to call and talk to the owner. They never answered their phone. This place use to have great service. But now the service is for SHIT. read more

Living in Lombard, Il, Each month I visit my 90 year old Mom who lives in Plymouth Each visit includes Kohler Andrae State Park and a delicious Broasted Chicken dinner from Parkside! When weather permits we eat it at the lake on a picnic bench So much food and so wonderful Soup or salad, potatoes, moist delicious chicken and garlic bread with cole slaw! This traditional highway diner was as good as I had hoped it would be. Stopping at lunchtime, I felt like eating breakfast and enjoyed a huge Denver omelette. I stopped eating it about 2/3 in and felt bad about leaving so much on my plate! (those starving kids in China ya know) Stuffed full of diced ham, onions, peppers and melted cheddar cheese. (It is in Wisconsin after all) at low, low prices that you would never get at a chain restaurant. Friendly attentive service with a smile and Pepsi products. Bonus, they take my American Express! One of our favorite stops when visiting Sheboygan! The food is amazingly delicious and servings huge!

We are from Chicagoland and on our way up to door county. Stopped here with a group of 17 family members hauling two RVs. Lots of room to park the RVs. Called ahead and told them our group would be there in 30 min. They created a table and had it ready for us as soon as we got there. Our waitress was wonderful! She accommodated separate checks and took our order right away. Our food came out quickly and hot. The checks came right away which we appreciated! The host was so kind. We had three kids with us under age 5. He brought them quarters so they could use the 25 cent machines at the front entrance. The food was classic diner fare. Very filling, great portions! What a perfect stop for breakfast! Had a bacon, cheese and mushroom omelette with rye bread and hash browns! Servings are enough for two! Yumma!!! Staff extremely pleasant and so are the patrons! Today I had a horrible experience at Parkside... my fiancé and I frequent breakfast here almost every weekend. Their servers are typically amazing, they listen, they care, food is done quick. Today I called for a pick up order as my fiancé was sick. I called at 1:00 and was told 15-20 minutes. I arrive at the 20 minute mark. White lady with a blonde bob tells me "ur pickup ticket is in the window" without asking my name like they typically do. So I sat down and wait meanwhile there's two skillets sitting on the counter next to me that I assumed could have been my food. After about 15 minutes. Then they finally start to be attentive and ask me questions. They checked the food on the counter(that was there before I even walked through the door). One of the skillets was what I ordered the other was not. They couldn't locate my ticket after finally asking my name. So lady that originally told me my ticket was in the window took my order again. I wish they just would have been attentive to me and made sure that I was being taken care of instead of assuming and not checking for me. I wouldn't have had to wait until 1:50 to leave with my food... when I got home I opened my skillet and immediately was upset. They rushed it because they knew I was waiting... the potatoes were UNDERCOOKED. I ended up not enjoying my skillet at all and wasting the full 25 that I spent here today... super upset as this was my favorite breakfast spot... overall just feel uncared for and unappreciated. I hope I never have an experience like this again here. read more
