Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice meals
    Kenny D.

The fairly small dine-in Thai restaurant was charming, and the staff were pleasant. I made a to-go order of chicken Pad Thai and pineapple fried rice (that had chicken and shrimp). The food came fairly fast and the bag was stapled shut and ready to go. Unfortunately, that meant I failed to notice they didn't give me any utensils, napkins, soy sauce or anything else. The Pad Thai was good with a delightful slight tanginess. The pineapple fried rice was less enjoyable, as it was dry and the pineapples were not juicy. The shrimp were also odd in that some had tails on and others tails off. I prefer tails off. Not a bad place I may visit again, but I'll skip the pineapple fried rice next time.

Service was good. Food was AMAZING. My least favorite was favorite the wings. Too flavorful where it didn't really go well with any of the other dishes. Wish they have put the sauce on the side. My favorite dish was the crab fried rice. OH EM GEE! Was cooked to perfection. YUM! Sad that they have taken the Tiger steak out of their menu. That was the reason I came back. Anyway, we still enjoyed the meal.

Came here to just grab to go food but then found myself grabbing a drink at the bar I could tell my server Richa was so busy but she still managed to maintain friendly professional service and made me a BEAUTIFUL drink. I love the colors of this restaurant- it makes me feel happy. Also I was cold at the bar and Richa immediately turned on the heat- A QUEEN!

Summer was our Server; what a delight! Their specialty cocktails; Crazy Thai Lady and Elderberry Old Fashion were well made and delicious. The Bikini Shrimp Rolls and the Thai Chef Dumplings are very appetizing. We also shared a Poh Tak Seafood platter; Wow! So tasty. The decor is cozy and the service team all works together seamlessly. Thanks again Summer!

The Thai Chef has a charming, fairy‑tale‑like décor -- stepping inside feels like walking into a colorful storybook. The space is vibrant, with bar seating and plenty of tables both downstairs and upstairs. Portions are just right, and the flavors are unique; I tried a few of the more unusual dishes on the menu and they all suited my taste perfectly. The staff is lovely, and it would be even better if the place used more essential oils to keep the atmosphere fresh and relaxing.

Thai Chef is probably the best restaurant in D.C. I come here every single time I'm in town and it never disappoints. I always get the panang curry with tofu - it is perfect. It is just the right amount of savory and sweet. The tofu texture is great. One of my favorite meals in the district and one of my favorite restaurant meals in general. The food always comes out way faster than I expect and the staff is so friendly. The vibe is also immaculate. They recently redid their menus btw they're so artsy. 10 out of 10 no notes.

YUM! A delicious restaurant with such a great ambiance and decor in Dupont Circle! We were surprised by the chewy (but delicious!) scallion pancake. I also loved the eggplant! Definitely a very good meal.

We heard this was the place to be. The restaurant itself is a little small, but the portions are huge. They definitely have the wok fire going to give it that essential high heat flavor. Crab fried rice was on point and the pad see ew was delicious. I would say the pad Thai came in third place. The mango sticky rice was something left to be desired, not as good as sampannee. The fried rice and pad see ew was definitely better here than sampannee.

Decent Thai spot - tried it for lunch. The pad Thai was as you expect it, pretty good. Service was ok, inside was not huge and a little warm.

Delicious food. Good portions. Good prices. Fast and friendly service. Servers were attentive and patient while I made my selection. Clean and colorful ambiance. No parking lot but easily accessible by public transit and very easy to walk to.

Large variety of vegan/vegetarian food, and very fun decor! Came here with my family for a celebratory dinner and we had a great time.

Came with a reservation for a large party, and I'd recommend making a reservation even for smaller parties as well. This place is great. Food is delicious, with many different options for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. The decorations are brightly colored and eclectic. The service is decent. The pricing is fair. If you drink alcohol the cocktails are fun, and if you don't they've got some delicious juices (that come in fancy cups garnished with mint) and the classic Thai tea. I love me some good Thai food and this place scratched that itch quite nicely.

What a cool spot! The decor is definitely eye-catching and Insta worthy but they don't stop at the aesthetic because the food is good too! I tried the duck noodle soup with tender pieces of duck and a nice rich broth - make sure to ask for the Thai spices to add! It really kicks it up a notch. Mango sticky rice is one of all time favorite desserts so of course I had to get it - so so good here! Just the right amount of sticky rice for the mango topped with a lovely coconut cream sauce. It's seasonal of course but worth waiting for mango season.

Excellent place for takeout. The crab rangoons are some of the best I've had and everything else is tasty and fresh. Quick service too.

When my group's reserved table wasn't ready upon our arrival, we were given free glasses of sparkling rose to sip on while we waited. As tourists, we had no idea how intimate the space was (or that reservations are recommended even just for drinks!), so we felt incredibly lucky when a staff member took pity on us and offered an outside table. I wish I could remember his name--he truly made the experience. He brought so much energy and personality, setting the tone for the whole night. After scanning the QR codes on the "records" for the menu, we each ordered something different. I went with the Take Me Out--a mix of mezcal, pineapple, amontillado, tamarind, mango, coconut, and lime--and I was not prepared for just how delicious it would be. It was layered, refreshing, and completely memorable. The presentation and attention to detail were next-level. My drink arrived with a perfectly round ice sphere and was paired with a sugared, vegan mango gummy that added a fun, unexpected twist. Our host also elevated several of the drinks tableside--adding custom tinctures and even creating a smiley face with drops of oil and basil in one cocktail nearby. It felt thoughtful, creative, and a little theatrical in the best way. We spent the evening outside, enjoying incredible drinks, easy conversation, and a warm night under the stars. It was one of those experiences that just sticks with you. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to D.C.--and Press Club Bar of Record will absolutely be on my list to revisit. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

Tucked into the heart of Dupont Circle with its unmistakable bright blue awning, the restaurant is intimate, moody, and always buzzing. Inside, you'll find dim lighting, a handful of cozy wooden bar booths, seats along the bar, and a few outdoor tables. It's not a huge space, which only adds to its charm and makes every reservation feel like a win. The atmosphere is perfect for sharing dishes and lingering over dinner with friends. The food was incredible...I genuinely loved every single bite. Just be prepared: the Sichuan spice is no joke! If you aren't expecting it, it'll definitely sneak up on you (in the best way). My must-orders? The chili wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and beef noodles. Every dish was packed with bold flavor and left me wanting to come back for more. If you've been trying to score a reservation, keep at it. Astoria is one of those places that's absolutely deserving of its reputation, and I'll be thinking about those noodles until my next visit.

Inside had small tables and a kinda casual cocktail bar vibe Beef Noodles - the highlight and actually very good! The noodles are long and handmade and chewy. They hold onto the sauce very well! The sauce has a slight kick and is very savory. The beef is soft and also flavorful! I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10
