This restaurant has been my best friend and I's go-to restaurant all throughout college. The inside of the place is beautiful and they always change the decorations for the holidays or seasons. On Sundays, you will get live piano music and singing. The staff are attentive, nice, and full of good recommendations. I personally like to get a side of miso soup to start, the Super Crunch Roll, and some Thai tea. I've tried some of their other food but ultimately the roll is my favorite. read more

I came in after calling in an order and they wouldn't accept my two coupon cards for $25 off my order. I had all but 2 filled out on one card and 2 filled out on the other card. It took years to collect these and I was so happy I had finally earned enough stamps for a discount and they denied me because all the stamps weren't on the same card. They aren't even stamps, they are some sort of hand written initial by employees. That really sucks to see you not honor a long time customer and tipper. They said that someone had stolen their stamper or something of that nature and that prevented them from taking my cards. Wasted my food that I ordered and they didn't even care about me being a long time customer. I could have just let it go, but they lowered their quality of ingredients and pushed their price up while treating their long time tipping customer like this. They are named correctly as the meal was very much a delight! The Thai tea has a great balance and is full of flavor, a must have when you stop in. I have had sushi and peanut chicken, both were fantastic but save room for dessert, the tempura fried ice cream is amazing. Parking is terrible but so worth the struggle and the staff exercises great safety protocols for the COVID precautions. Go early, go often! read more

It makes me so sad to write this review, because I absolutely swore by this place for months. I had some of their shrimp tempura last night, and I got SERIOUS food poisoning from it. I've been uncontrollably vomiting, dizzy, shaking and nauseous. I think the shrimp either wasn't cooked properly or it had some exposure to infected raw fish somewhere down the line. Either way, it's knocked me into the most MISERABLE stomach bug of my life and I'm rushing to an urgent care clinic to see if it was E.coli, salmonella, parasites, etc. and get some antibiotics. I will NEVER be returning personally, as a precaution for my safety. Maybe just for the Thai Iced Tea, which is very rich and packed with flavor. Last night, they never served it to me, even though I ordered it, and left the $3 charge on my bill until I pointed it out. I have no idea what happened because this place used to SLAP. I write this review not to slander their name, but only to leave a word of caution about the food handling precautions here and warn you to be careful about what you order -- even if it's "cooked" already. read more

My granddaughter wanted Thai so we found this place. New to Norman and we were starving . The front of the place looked like a homeless camp with trash all over the sidewalk and under the bench but we went inside and ordered. Very nice waitress but the food was so bland and nothing like the Thai food I am accustomed to. My Pad Thai noodle was like a thin round ramen not authentic flat rice noodles and reminded me of a package of Top Ramen stir fried and served with chicken and a few cushed peanuts. I had heard that the food places in Oklahoma were shitty before I moved here so we were not surprised. Going to cook at home from now on and stick to Dominos and SubWay when I am out and about. Great customer service most polite people I've ever came across. Im mainly here to talk about the chicken pad Thai, which may be laced with Coke(not actually) because I just keep coming back for it. I have been coming here for years. Hate to say it, but the food quality has dived. The chicken Fried rice tasted moldy and fishy. Service was terrible when asked for a manager; They did not have one. It took 15+ minutes for my table to be greeted. I asked for the moldy rice to be taken off the bill and was told by the server that if I sent it back she will have to pay for it? Sad experience. Thai Delight is my all-time favorite Thai place! I'm never disappointed by my meals. I have tried a variety of items and it's always cooked to perfection. Our visit to this place was on a moments notice and with zero research which is very unusual for us. It was surprisingly good. The Kai Soi soup was very good. It's was seasoned and spiced up just right. The pad Thai had a little bit of a fishy after taste (we had the chicken?!) but it wasn't something alarming just distracting. I ordered take out. They were quick to take my order, had it ready in 15 mins, and bagged to go when I went in to grab it. Very fast service which was great because we were starving! The food we had: Steamed dumplings: very small meatball sized dumplings, not a lot of dough, and very mushy meat. Great flavors with the sweet soy sauce, but the texture was too soft and mushy for me to order again. The special fried rice was sort of bland, but with some soy sauce was edible. Not worth the $13.95 price tag unless you just live for squid and rice. The chicken pad Thai (spiced to 2) was delicious! Not overly sauced like some places. For an appetizer, I got the Thai Dumplings. I was concerned when the dumplings were brought out within one minute of my ordering - and my concerns were unfortunately confirmed when the dumplings tasted overcooked, lukewarm, and mushy. Like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too many hours. I could only eat 1 of the 8 dumplings. For the main course, I got Pad Mee. Again, the food was brought out very quickly - which scares me when I've ordered chicken in my dish. And unfortunately, again, the noodles and vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Sushi is my favorite and I don't think I've ever been disappointed before but I was disappointed with their sushi. Two stars for the lobster roll and the shrimp tempura. Those were pretty good. The party roll was gross, Even when we removed the fly fish topping. The delight roll would have been really good if it wasn't for that fly fish. In fact, I think we should have just stayed away from anything with that fly fish but there was no warning label. The Texas roll sounded really good. Well it was probably the worst one. The shrimp was not tempura. It was like a a super thick and chewy Breading, they used lime instead of lemon which made it super sour and they should have used fresh salmon instead of smoked. First time I don't finish all my sushi. I'll go back to try the Thai food but I'll be staying away from their sushi. read more

Ive been going to Thai Delight for the last 8 years, but In the last year or so it has changed. The food is still good, but the service has deteriorated, which is likely due to the pandemic. The last time I dined in, it took about 15 minutes for anyone to greet us. It was very busy, but it would have been nice if someone would have acknowledged we were there. It took an additional 15 minutes to order. The food was good and the manager stopped by to chat with us as he was clearing tables, which turned the experience around. In a more recent experience I ordered food to go. When I arrived to pick up the food they were extremely busy (because the food is good). The to go person seemed overwhelmed and came off very short in her interactions with other people waiting to pick up their food. I will probably go back, but I won't be surprised if the service is subpar. read more

It was a super cold and windy day in Norman and I happened to have a few hours to kill and I was hungry. Being Thai, I thought to myself what would be more satisfying than having your comfort cuisine, a plate of rice or a bowl of soup on this harsh weather day! There are a few Thai restaurants around OU but I happened to know The owner of Thai Delight since they used to run Taste of Thai in Arlington, TX back at home. So the decision was made quickly and it was a great one. The menu here is HUGE! They've got sushi now. I was a bit overwhelmed but choose to go with dishes I used to order in the past. It did not disappoint me. I was greeted with friendly lady then the lady I know of came by to say hi at the table- That was good, it's like going to eat at a friend's house :) So it's a plus! We've got the Chicken Delight and Garlic stir fried Soft Shell Crab (Not sure if the latter one is on the menu but you can definitely make a request.) The portion is HUGE!!! We ate it all up though because it's so tasty. They are pretty generous on rice, that's a plus! Some places can be so stingy on rice. Got Salmon Sushi and Eel Sushi togo and they are packed neatly in the clear plastic box with everything you would need. The Salmon is fresh, The eel is a little small but they didn't charge for much so nothing to complain about. I will definitely be back when in the area.
