So I've lived in the Tri-Cities now for approximately six months. This is the first Thai restaurant we visited because we needed some and it had good reviews. The street appeal wasn't really in line with the star rating but I figured what the hay. It was a nice semi-dress casual atmosphere. Hosting wait staff were very friendly. I enjoyed the fresh flowers at our table. I ordered a soup with chicken and vegetables not exactly sure what it was called. Food was very good and received rather quick with restaurant about half full. My wife ordered a green curry vegetarian style she almost always does the yellow but she tried this to the recommendation of the wait staff. She loved it, as did I. The seating in the restaurant needs to be upgraded I felt like I was falling through the chair as did the gentleman next to me, making the same comment. Overall experience was really nice though and really good food and I was pleasantly surprised to find a $35 bill for two people... and with that said I'm always happy when I spend less than $50 going out to dinner. We have eaten at the Thai Elephant several times. I always order the Evil Jungle. It is rice noodles and vegetables topped with peanut sauce. Yummy! My husband loves the duck curry. The service has always been great and friendly. We have tried other Thai restaurants in the Tri-Cities but now we only go to the Thai Elephant. read more

We were here in November for our Anniversary weekend and stopped here for lunch before heading on the road back home. After reading great reviews, I expected nothing but an awesome experience. Owners very friendly, decor comfortable but snazzy and fun. I felt a little underdressed with all the sparkly gold lotus' around! The vegetables were very fresh and perfectly cooked. We have consistently received delicious food from Thai Elephant. We usually order take-out, but sometimes we stop by to order and wait for our food. We have been treated like royalty whenever we have been in the restaurant, whether we were dining in or taking out. We love the pad thai, fresh rolls, and spicy basil fried rice. Tonight we ordered everything "medium" spicy level. Next time I will ask for a level up, but we like spicy! I'm sure they will accommodate. The dining room is beautiful, so dining in is a treat, as well.Their Thai iced tea is delicious! read more

SO GOOD!!! Can't believe we have lived here for four years and haven't tried this place. To be honest, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that stop you! The food is amazing. I got lucky when I found this place. My favorite Thai dish is pad ke mao (sorry about my spelling). I judge all Thai restaurants based on this dish. It was wonderful. The sauce was deep, rich and so flavorful. The wide noodles perfectly tender and the onions, peppers, mushrooms and broccoli all perfectly crisp tender. This was a bit of good fortune, finding this restaurant. Oddly enough, the Tri-Cities area has a plethora of Thai restaurants. I drove by on the way to a bar that I had looked up on Yelp, and its luxuriously dark interior full of quietly chatting minglers was irresistibly inviting. So I stopped in. The hospitality was instantly excellent; friendly and welcoming. The kid helping out, although young and not dressed as a server, was very professional, as well. This kind of service is no accident: Thai Elephant obviously trains their employees, most of whom I suspect are family, to give the best kind of service, the genuinely friendly kind. But the food made this the best Thai Food experience I can remember. The big metal bowl of Tom Kha soup, ordered with extra chicken for a buck, had the perfect broth...not overwrought with the heavy cream of coconut milk like some restaurants' offerings, but light and pleasant, teasingly tart, not too sweet. The herbs used to prepare the soup-lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, galangal-were absolutely the freshest I've tasted, and stood out to make this an excellent dish, and a reminder to all other Thai restaurants not to take shortcuts with dried herbs. The gentleman who seemed to be the owner was very inquisitive and friendly, and described the food he'd prepared. The quality of preparation was evident by his description. I will definitely stop again when I'm in town on business. read more

On my last review I put 3 stars due to poor service and decent food. I came back recently to give this place another try. I think our server this time was the manager or owner. Someone important at least. He was also a older man too. My husband this time ordered a beef noodle dish (I can't quite remember the name) and I had the green curry again. For the appetizer, we had #13 (I don't remember the name since it was a bit odd looking) and it was basically a self wrap leaf dish. It came with about 6-8 pieces of dark green leaves, dried cold shrimp, whole peanuts, minced onions and limes. It also had this sweet, honey like sauce. My husband loved it but it wasn't really for me. It wasn't bad but I didn't like it that much. For some reason, this time, the food was a lot better. It was definitely tastier then last time. The service was a lot better as well. Maybe last time I just had a bad waitress and chef. But I'll be back again. read more

My father inlaw took my husband and I to eat here. We were not disappointed! We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, the Chicken Ka Pow, and the Pad See Ew. We asked for the hottest spices on the pad thai and ka pow. We were not disappointed! I actually went up to the server afterwards and thanked him for not holding back. We found Thai Elephant to have prompt and excellent service. Attentive, and not hovering. This was our first visit, so can only comment on the Drunken Noodles and Alaska Cod. Both were excellent. I loved the cod! Flavored perfectly, light and fresh tasting fish. Sides were a step above average. Nice wine selection too. I'd definitely go back next time we are in town. read more

This is the best Thai Restaurant in the Tri Cities for me so far. I've been to 4 other Thai Restaurants in the Tri Cities, so maybe that's not enough experience, but this is my current opinion. I took my girlfriend here, and the ambiance was excellent. The service was excellent as well. We shared the pork pot stickers, I got red curry shrimp, and she got chicken drunken noodles. The portions were impressive. I finished mine, but she got leftovers! We had no room for the desserts, so maybe next time! read more

Great service, we had a large party and called a few minutes before arriving. The staff had a table ask set up for us upon arrival. Really, really, really good Thai food. The pumpkin curry is excellent. We order this every time we go there. This restaurant is a ways from our home, but when we want Thai food, we make the journey all the way to Clearwater in Kennewick because it is JUST THAT GOOD.
