Been past this place a bunch of times but never realized it was a Thai place. I got chicken pad thai with extra chicken, same exact order as last week when I ordered that abomination of a staple Thai dish. You can find it in my first review. I must admit I was a tad anxious when I opened the lid and saw a bunch of raw bean sprouts. I don't think I've ever had pad thai with the bean sprouts raw, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ate it. It was pretty good. The flavor wasn't overwhelming which was probably the highlight of the meal. Didn't seem like extra chicken though. Also there were chunks of tofu in there, never seen that before. I love tofu so I'm not complaining. The portion size was nothing to bother about. I'm a big boy with a big appetite so I punished the meal with ease but it would be enough for smaller folks. It was $14 for the meal, average for my order. I don't know if I would order the same food again but I might consider dining there if I'm in the area. read more

First time at this place. They are so friendY and the food is authentic, fresh and taste so good. There is a little wait but was worth it. It is really a to go stop but they do have some tables outside. Love the garden there . I got the spring rolls and they were just outstanding. Yellow curry was good also. The man in the front was really nice, but the pad thai I ordered the other day had something wrong with it. I was chewing my food and was wondering "What is this hard stringy piece in my noodles?" When I pulled it out, it was a piece of steel scrubber that was in my food. I tried to call two times when I ordered this on 1/17, but no answer. I would've gone back to show them, but the drive is way too far. This definitely ruined my appetite as I could not eat the rest of the food anymore. I've had eating at so many different Thai places and have been disappointed so many times,but this little hidden gem has raised my hopes of finding the real flavor of food that I love . I had the pleasure of trying the food here on a recent trip. This is hands down the best Thai food I have ever eaten. I HIGHLY recommend the Fresh Rolls and Pad Thai. The Fried Rice is also delectable. The food here taste like it was prepared with love and seasoned to perfection. I cannot stress that enough. I really wanted to like this place more. I had the chicken red curry and Thai tea. The Thai tea was good but definitely a lot sweeter than I like. The chicken curry would of been really good too but when I called, they said they weren't able to take out the veggies. So the curry ended up being sweet too cause of the zucchini and the other veggies. The 3 stars, however, is because customer service was excellent, they have their own garden, and they have super large portions! I might try this place again and try something different. read more

This place is your typical hole in the wall and isn't too easy on the eyes but let me tell you right now, don't let looks fool you, this place is outstanding. We will not be eating here again. The man answering the phones to take orders/running the register was very rude and unpleasant to deal with. My husband and I ordered the following: Chicken Satay $6.95 Green Papaya Salad $6.95 Pork Thai BBQ $8.95 The chicken satay was actually pretty good, however, the photo on their site shows what looks to be 2"-2.5" wide pieces on kebab sticks. What I recieved was closer to an inch wide. I basically got what I would guess to be 2-3oz of chicken, some peanut sauce and disgusting cucumber/red onion salad for $6.95. Not worth it. The Green Papaya Salad was one of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted. I read up on green (unripe) papaya and now realize that the reason it tasted so gross is because its not ripe... I thought it was some variation of papaya so shame on me for not doing some research first. On that note, here is something that I read online about latex content in unripened papaya: "-Papaya is frequently used as a hair conditioner, but should be used in small amounts. Papaya releases a latex fluid when not quite ripe, which can cause irritation and provoke allergic reaction in some people. -The latex concentration of unripe papayas are speculated to cause uterine contractions, which may lead to a miscarriage." YIKES! The Pork Thai BBQ, was surprisingly good compared to the other dishes. Its not your standard saucy BBQ. Its dry/seasoned cooked meat over rice and they give you an orange sauce to put on top. Yet again, the issue was that there was a measly amount of meat, I definitely would not consider this a meal. This was our first and ONLY visit to Thai Express. Sad because they grow a lot of their produce right outside :( I cross posted this with Google as well. read more

I've lived down the street from this place for over 2 years and had it for the first time today for lunch. Holy moly I wish I would have tried it sooner. The food is great. I had the drunken noodles, one of my favorite Thai dishes. It was a huge portion and loaded with fresh vegetables. The flavors are a little different (more mild) from what I'm used to back home, but still very delicious. I will definitely be back for more. Don't let the "hole in the wall" appearance out you off. This place is all grease and tiny bits chicken... Like crumbles of chicken. I like that they have a garden outside the joint but it definitely does not reflect on their food! No veggies or at least none visible to the naked eye. But they do give a big portion of food:) read more

I stumbled across this place while I was doing some training for work. Its such a cute little Thai restaurant and they are always super friendly. I had lunch there for a week straight while I was doing some business training and the food was always amazing. Definitely a great Thai food place. Also, keep in mind its only for to-go orders. You just walk up, order your food, wait about 10-15 minutes and go somewhere to have lunch or dinner. They have some tables to sit on though. You can also call ahead to place your order. Probably one of the best Thai food places in the killeen/CC/HH area. Will definitely be back! read more

I desperately wanted to like this place because the guy at the window taking the order was so kind. Unfortunately the food was just not up to par. I ordered the thom yum which is a traditionally hot and sour sweet, just "sweet" enough to balance out the other two flavors depending on where you go, except here the soup was so sickeningly sweet I couldn't even finish it. It literally tasted like someone poured half a cup of maple syrup into it. The same went for the seafood salad I ordered. At least there I could taste a hint of the lime but overall there was too much sugar, and yet again in the cucumber kimchi. An overbearingly sweet maple sort of flavor. In all I paid nearly $30 for food I couldn't eat because it tasted of sugar and syrup. On top of that, the mussels in my seafood salad smelled off. The only reason I'm not leaving one star is because the guy taking the order was so nice. read more
