    Veggie Pad Thai with tofu
    Anjan S.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice Thai joint close to the Des Moines downtown. They had a good choice of vegetarian dishes. I ordered vegetarian pad Thai and sushi roll. Food was delicious and prepared well. Staff was courteous, and service was good I ordered a Thai beer to go with the food. I walked to the place but did see enough parking spots around the place. If you go between 5 to 7 pm then you could enjoy sushi rolls and drinks at half the price. Enjoy!

I went with my parents for Thursday lunch. we got the appetizer platter. that was good, except we've decided we don't like tofu. the crab Rangoons were great and the spring rolls were great. S had the beef Bento box. I tried the beef, it was very bland. it looked really cool though. mom and I had pad thai. she wants no spice, so she ordered it at 0 spice. I ordered 3. mine was not very spicy. come to find out the server thought I said one. I said I said 3, mom said I said 3. it was good, it would have been phenomenal at a 3. service was good. the restaurant is decorated very nicely and not gaudy. bathrooms were kept clean, the paper towel machine was jammed up. the parking is a little tough out front. I did notice they have a back door, not sure if there's extra parking back there. all the staff was pleasant.

I was excited to try Thai Flavors, remembering how great the Ankeny location used to be. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Ambiance: The interior was nice and relaxing, with an R&B mix playing that reminded me of a wedding I attended as a kid. Service: The server was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Food: I ordered the duck fried rice and paid the extra charge for real duck. However, it tasted like tofu and lacked the flavor or texture of actual duck. I even confirmed with the server that I got the right dish, but it didn't seem like real duck at all. The rice was also inedible. The sampler was decent. Parking: There's parking available both in the back and on the street. Next time I go I won't be trying anything with duck.

Stopped in for a late lunch with my daughter. I have eaten the food here a number of times from Grubb Hub but I have not been in before. The service was excellent from the time we were seated until the check was paid everything was spot on. The food was of good quality and was packed with flavor. And the Thai iced coffee. Was just plain awesome. Great work folks.

All the flavors and it was great. Ordered the plain edamame appetizer, chicken pad thai and yellow curry with shrimp. Both tasted good as expected. Service was exceptional and was glad to be there. She made us feel at home and very welcomed. We have had Thai Flavors to go and this time we were able to dine in and it was even better. We hope to return in the future. Made for a wonderful date night out. It was busy but we were treated with care.

Amazing service, delicious food, and nice ambience. I'll definitely be back! This place is one of my favorite Thai food restaurants!

    Mango Salsa Roll

We really like the other location and we happen to be on the right side of town when we got a craving for thai. About 6 pm on a Friday and we walked right in and was sat right away. The atmosphere was welcoming. There is a bar to the right and to the left is the seating for the dining area. There is also a small sushi bar but it appears that most of the action is in the back. We were sat by the wall of windows and our waitress was at our desk in no time. She was very sweet and very attentive. We were pretty hungry and decided to have a sushi roll and two entries. I ordered the Pad Thai and paid the extra for the chicken. The hubby ordered a yellow curry. We also ordered Mango Salsa Roll: Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, cucumber topped with mango salsa, red tobiko, spicy mayo and unagi sauce. This was a really good roll. It was unique in flavors and really hit the spot. The entries were large sized and I was able to bring home enough food for multiple meals. The food was all good and the spice was right. You get to pick your spice and we both are babies and only picked 2. I think I would recommend this location. Even though the dinging area was quiet we watched person after person walk in and get take out. Our roll was even slow coming out because they were backed up with orders.

4.0* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 4* Value: 4* Service: 4* 03/18/2023 This place has been on my Want to Go list since being listed in Cityview as a favorite. My wife and I took the chance to try it out for dinner last night and while nothing stood out that would make it 'top of the list' of Thai restaurants in Des Moines, it is clearly a solid option if you enjoy Thai food. For our dinners, I ordered the Yellow Curry with chicken and brown rice at a 4 out of 6 pepper spice level (see picture) and my wife ordered the Panang Curry with beef at a 4 out of 6 pepper spice level (see picture). Our server shared that these were the #2 and #1 most popular dishes there, respectively and after tasting them we can understand why. As we always do, we shared tastes of each others dishes and both of us enjoyed both dishes. The 4 pepper spice level seemed good for both of us also, as it was enough to make your nose run a little, but not so hot that it required lots of water while consuming it. I would recommend both of these dishes if you are stopping by to eat. The atmosphere was modern and clean and the value seemed in line with other Thai options in Des Moines. The only slight hiccup during our visit was my Yellow Curry that I ordered with chicken. For some reason, our server mistakenly delivered calamari instead. It was still very good (didn't want to waste it and send it back) and our server was kind enough to bring some steamed chicken on the side to add to the curry. Sushi roll with imitation crab
    Allegra W.

Never in my life have I ordered sushi with imitation crab. Is this a grocery store or a restaurant? They don't notate that on the menu and it's actually scammy. I'm also allergic so there's that.

The word Flavors is in the name. Service is always on point, and the food, one of my favorite Thai, and Chinese, places in Des Moines, when they say what spice level they do not play around, it ain't for the week. My way of how they prep edamame, you gotta ask for the special with garlic oil, chilly oil and soy sauce, perfection. My go to dish is basil fried rice 4 stars with shrimp no mushrooms and there Thai flavors Spicy Margarita so tasty.

I have now been back 8 times or so. This place is consistently delicious with a broad menu that satisfies the hunger of anyone with common sense about Asian cuisine. I'm not sure why I can't give it 5 stars because I never have anything negative really to say about it - I guess I need my tastebuds to have some erotic explosion for that - so I will religiously continue to eat here until that happens

There is limited table service, as many amenities are self-serve. As an Asian, this was great: let me eat in peace :D. Nonetheless, the employees were pleasant and came to check on us to clear our table. We seldom dine at mixed/fusion Thai in California, so expectations were low upon seeing the menu. They have a small menu, but enough varieties for everyone. We ordered Khao poon with tofu, after-school fried rice (what we call pineapple fried rice), and eggrolls (not pictured). The soup was great: enough spiced, fragrance, and heat -- added extra chili flakes for my preference. However, the only disappointment was the tofu, as they were not cooked in the broth, simply added prior to serving. Would have loved them lightly fried for texture and flavor. Then again, it is the Midwest, so I didn't expect many tofu lovers for them to go through the trouble. Still rate it 5/5. The fried rice was delicious: Requested level 3 spiciness, which was too spicy for my uncle, but he managed to enjoy it. He would order it again, but at level 2 spiciness. The portion size is big enough for two more meals, so he was happy about that. We would dine here again next time we visit Des Moines.

The atmosphere was fun and modern without feeling overdone. I was happy to see that the Thai tea could be made with oat milk. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, Lao sausage, Dala dumplings, and Nam Khao with sour pork. The Nam Khao at spice level 3 was milder than expected but still enjoyable. The dumplings had a great texture, and while the filling was bland, the dipping sauce made up for it and was delicious and complemented the dish perfectly. The Lao sausage was sweet and garlicky, but the sticky rice was a little dry. The Pad Thai was just how I like it with fresh vegetables and not overly saucy. Parking is hard to find, and it is on a busy street. So plan accordingly. It took us about 15 minutes to find decent parking that was half a block away. We didn't mind the walking, but we thought there would be a designated parking lot. But there is not unfortunately. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend this spot if you are looking for Lao and Thai flavors.
