The family and I have been here a few times over the last couple years. Our last visit pretty much ended it for us. Our last visit there was a sign on the door that said prices have increased. I understand that. What we didn't expect was everything after that. The menu did indicate higher prices. We did not expect the slow service and probably the worst food experience here. After a while, the waitress finally took our order. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The wife ordered the pad Thai chicken. After a lengthy wait our food was delivered. Or what we thought was our food. Both dishes were a nightmare. Mine had hardly any chicken, A LOT of vegetables, all soaking in a what resembled a soupy sweet and sour mess. The wife was very displeased with hers as well. It was very strange this evening for sure. Not positive what happened this evening, but I'm going to stay away for a while. I ended up here searching on Google for Thai food near me. I liked the menu, it was closer than going to Wilmington, so I figured I'd give it a try. The first time I came 12/26 - they were closed despite all indications online of being open. Eventually I found my way to their Facebook page which showed closed until the new year. Cool. Well I call in to check that they're open before driving 40 minutes. They are. Great! I order based on menu found at http://places.singleplatform.com/anns-thai-kitchen-0/menu?ref=google Get there expecting to pay $23 + tax and am quoted $37 and change. I checked my food to make sure the order is correct as it's closing time and asked for a menu, receipt, or anything to help me understand the discrepancy. I'm told they don't do that or can't do that. That all they have is the credit card receipt. Which reads $39 and change due to an additional charge for paying via credit card. Recognizing this young lady might be in high school I ask for a manager or owner. A middle aged man appears after a moment and I begin to tell him my issue. He cuts me off maybe a sentence in to repeatedly state they don't have their menu online. I work past this so I can explain the issue of expecting one thing and getting to the point of sale to pay about 50% higher than anticipated. The menu and its price points are what made this worth the ride. I havent signed for payment yet. He allows me to continue. I tell him a menu is online in about 4 places representing this restaurant. Maybe 2-3 (the main one being referenced listed above). He's still quite combative. I state to him what the young lady working for him just told me in that their to go menu prices are wrong as well and inconsistent with the laminated menu for dine in customers. At this point I move to highlight the issue of inconsistent pricing publicated. He says we just changed that (laminated menu) and it says subject to change. I like to know what I'm paying for before I pay for it. Getting to the point of sale and getting hit with 50% more than expected wasnt as much of an issue as was his incompetence as a business owner and lack of responsibility as owner of that establishment. You have an online menu, a printed to go menu, and a laminated in store menu and all three have different pricing. But you want to argue with a customer that has questions. The place I went to in Wilmington was about $3-4 cheaper. When I called in the young lady let me know they didnt have or offer an appetizer I'd ordered anymore. So obviously a menu for this establishment is listed somewhere. Haven't tried the food. It looks good. But I think I'll opt to take my money elsewhere. Better business. Xx read more

The outside does look very untaken care of... the inside had rope lights lining the ceilings. It gives an ole country vibe honestly, somewhere you expect to get fried chicken and sit down with the locals feel. The service i wouldn't say is bad, there were 3 people plus myself there and the host was a little older but complained about how busy it was right off the get go. I ended up ordered to-go. It took about 25/30 mins to get the food and it was on the pricey side. The one pic of food shown was 25$ before the tip, just a tad over priced. I got the Pad Thai Chow Mein... crab Rangoons and spring rolls. The Chow Mein was so so.... not really better or worse than your average Chinese food place, the spring rolls were VERY under whelming. No flavor unless dipped in the sauce provided which is like a vinaigrette type taste. The crab Rangoon are salty like chips you get at mexican resturant and very little filling the sauce with it is unique, it's sweet and tart - not bad**edit** sauce reminds me of green live savers/gummy bears flavor wise. Maybe this place wasn't for me. I'll give it one more try when i can, maybe try the curry. I don't see, taste, smell anything that tells me i need to come back but I'm ok with trying something else on the menu. read more

I don't know how, or why, this restaurant is in Beulaville. But, as the other reviews indicate, it's shockingly good. Especially for being really far from any city that'd be a whole lot more likely to have good Thai food than rustic Beulaville. The inside looks like it should really be a restaurant serving BBQ and boiled potatoes and greens. A lot of ceramic elephants have been added to make it more Thai-ish. Cash only, be prepared. It's about as good as any good Thai restaurant in America, and better than a lot of them. 4 stars, plus an extra because there's something this good, and different, in an unlikely spot. read more

Very authentic, very randomly located Thai place that my friends hit up on the way back to Durham from the beach. We kind of overloaded them (20ish people) so if you're coming with a big group I'd advise you call ahead. fishcake appetizer was nice: crisped exterior with chewy interior. Decent. The catfish was incredible: crispy, flavorful, fragrant, spicy enough to make me notice without me dying (I requested as spicy as possible). I will make the 1.5 hour drive just to eat this again. This is also the only picture I took, because it was THAT good. I sampled many other dishes and found them alright, but this was the star of the night that I can't forget about. Noodle dishes (pad thai, pad see ew) were kind of meh: not much wok hei, kinda just simmered in passable sauces. Might be because they were rushed for time. Desserts were delicious: we tried them all and all were delightful, especially the fried banana and mango sticky rice. Prices are decent for normal people, but if you're a fatso like me it might get a little pricey (expect 25ish if you want entree, app, and multiple desserts. Food is amazing. I'm no connoisseur of Thai food but after eating at several places over the years, one that was supposedly upscale, the food here beats them hands down. I've never had Thai food so good. Their green curry is my favorite, and the soup they bring out that is clear with pepper and maybe some egg in is too good. This place is AMAZING!!! I live in the Wilmington area and this was the best Thai I'd had since moving to NC. I had the green curry with squid and it was $7.49. It was a huge portion came with a salad (ranch/italian), a cup of hot and sour soup, a negreo lo and curry with rice. It was delishhhhh!!! I was kind of nervous to order the squid because if it's over cooked it's tough and it was cooked to perfection. So tender and delish. I've seen some complaints about the lack of spice but I just asked for more heat and they brought a small little cup of dried chili's that lit my mouth in fire... it was heaven!!!! What a lucky break, Traveling to Greensboro from Jacksonville for business as I approach this town. I was hungry and all I saw was a Hardee's on the right so I said let me look into yelp and see what is here I came across Ann's Thai kitchen with a really great reviews and I said OK let's give it a chance. I had a horrible experience yesterday in Jacksonville with sushi so I was in the mood for good Asian food. I hit the jackpot this place is a little sketchy out front but once inside people are nice the restaurants clean and the food is out of this world. Shrimp pad pack hot and sour soup outstanding. Yes, if you want Thai food with some actual spices, eat here. I have been so disappointed with bland Thai food that almost just kept driving by when I saw the sign. I'm very glad I turned around. Clean, plenty of room. Good food. Some staff very gregarious, some less so, but it is very apparent that the owners care about the food, and want you to be full and happy. Dumplings were good, cashew chicken could have used more green vegetables, but it's understandable that sometimes fresh is hard to get. Fried banana with ice cream was surprisingly good, it was also helpful after I accidentally ate the hot pepper from the chicken. Overall I do very much recommend, and I would go out of my way to eat there again! read more

The services for dining is the worse there could possibly be. The cooks need to get their heads out of their ass. We arrived to order dine in and waited two hours to barely get appetizers. We watched multiple people eat and leave that came after us and the cooks seem to only care about take out orders. Watched multiple take out orders pick up and leave and we never got one meal. Had to take our loss. Lost two hours of our lives we'll never get back because the cooks are stupid and incompetent with lack of organizational skills on how to deliver food in an orderly manner. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it if you are anywhere near the area!! Who knew one could get excellent Thai food in North Carolina? I've lived here for 2 years and this is the first place I've been impressed with. It is authentic and delicious! We tried a variety of our favorites and everything was top notch, my personal favorite was the Thai beef salad - flavorful, spicy, tangy and tender. My husband's favorite was the pad ka pow and they even made it spicy enough for him. The restaurant itself is just a little hole in the wall, neither welcoming or cozy, but if you don't care about ambience this is the best place for Thai in 100 miles. And the service well outweighs any complaints about the aesthetics, super friendly and helpful. read more
