This place truly stands out. The menu is extensive, with a wide variety of curry-based entrées and multiple versions of pad thai, so there's something for everyone whether you like mild and comforting or bold and spicy. The drink selection is just as impressive -- creative cocktails, a solid wine list, and plenty of beer options to pair with your meal. The staff really elevates the experience. They're friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which makes ordering easy even with so many choices. The interior has a unique charm and great character -- it feels authentic and thoughtfully designed, not cookie-cutter. It's the kind of spot that works for a casual dinner but still feels special enough for a night out. Definitely worth a visit

Tried the pad thai and the young soup. The pad Thai was good and it was a lot for $12.00. The soup was spicy but delicious. Service was great. The atmosphere was traditional Thaiish with the budda, shrine, silk fabric, and etc. I would come here again.

"It's a sign, our parking spot is right next to Thai Garden!" I was excited because I recognized the door from when this was a pit stop on the road trip up north a few years prior. I had remembered the food was good and was truly looking forward to lunch here. My colleague also raved about how she used to go here often before the pandemic. However, my expectations may have been too high. Food was good, but the service and environment did enough for me to make the experience feel just alright. The decor is as intricate as I remember; this was definitely the place we stopped at a few years ago. The host / waitress began to ask questions about if we'd leave before lunch hour ends and if we'd be ok that they're done at 3. Luckily we were just looking for a quick lunch before hitting the road again. The rushed-ness was unfortunately a common theme and it made us feel like we truly needed to go as fast as possible. Like I gave a preview to, the food was still pretty good. Always have to get Thai ice tea. The lunch menu had plenty of options but I stuck with the usual pad Thai with crispy chicken. The lunch portion was even enough for me to have leftovers the next day. However I couldn't stop thinking about the rushed nature. Even though we didn't plan to stay long it felt like we were getting pushed to leave. Additionally when trying to walk to the restroom, the floors were very sticky too. While the food was good, some attention is needed to the service and environment. If I'm in Amherst again, I'd come back for the food but hope things are better for service and environment.

Mixed Seafood Adventure which came with scallops, shrimp, and squid.

Some of the best Thai food I've had - super fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend pad see ew and spicy tofu with veggies and rice.

They are knowledgeable about what is and isn't gluten free. Prices were VERY reasonable. The restaurant itself was very ambient with low, cozy lighting. However, they lacked HEAVILY in the service department. They weren't busy, so our party was sat immediately. But, we didn't see our server until 10 minutes later when she asked for our order (not drinks). In our 40 minute wait for the food, we didn't not see our waitress or get any refills. Everyone's food came out at awkward times , the salmon (which meant to take the longest) was one of the first to come out. As I said the food was good, just wish that our night had better service.

The portions don't make you full and the flavors aren't strong. The proportion of noodle to everything else was a bit much and the protein tastes like it was just added it on too afterwards. The pad see ew is 7/10, got beef and it was too hard. The texture was ok. Crazy noodle 6/10, got shrimp and the shrimp had no particular flavor and the dish overall was too sweet. There were also only 3 pieces of shrimp. The kra pow is a 6.5/10, had a nice sweet flavor but wish it had that kick of spice and a thicker sauce. The tom yum soup was 6/10, it's hard to go wrong with tom yum but this was did not hit. The mushroom and shrimp felt like they were just added in afterwards ans didn't have the strong soup flavor. The soup was also room temp not particularly hot or cold so it was an awkward sip. Overall I wouldn't come here to eat again. The waitress was nice and the place was clean with a bathroom.

"You're not a princess I'm not prince charming Speak with…read moreyour tongue, use body language And pull your skin like wrapping paper round my heart" (Graham Parker) The last time I stepped into this building was a few years ago when it was occupied by the Lemongrass Asian Grill. Today was my birthday, so my dinner spot of choice meant a return here to experience a meal at the newish Charming Thai Restaurant. And we left a few hours later agreeing that this place is fantastic. Soon after we were seated, we met Jessica, who was our principal server. She was an absolute delight with a fantastic personality. She started off with some complimentary noodles and sweet duck sauce. The menu is extensive, with most of the traditional Thai favorites, so think Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Fried Rices, Lo Meins, and Pad See-Ew. Other groupings include Chef Specials, Classic Entrees, Curries, and a full slate of appetizers, salads, soups, Pho, and Ramens. When you go through their menu, the various combinations of entrée and protein choices are in the 200 range. So pretty much anyone can eat their favorite Asian food here. We started off with a cup of Wonton Soup (with 6 big wontons) and a cup of Tom Kha Soup with two big shrimp at $5.99 each. The Tom Kha had a mild coconut taste, but I don't mean that in a negative way. I order this a lot, and some places really load up on the coconut flavor so much that the soup resembles a strong thick ice cream topping. Their soup was thinner than some but had enough flavor that it was fantastic. Oh, and those two plump shrimps in my bowl were perfect. We split an $8 order of six pork pot stickers, and they were cooked beautifully without a hint of grease and stuffed with a nice ground pork filling. For our main meal we split a $15.99 order of Chicken Pad Thai. We ordered it mild, but since I like spice, I asked for some extra zip on the side and Jessica brought out a cute little twin dish of Sriracha sauce and Sichuan pepper powder to ramp up the firepower. We loved the Pad Thai, it had plenty of chicken, the noodles were well cooked, and most of all it was sauced perfectly. Not too dry, not too wet, but just perfect. As we were paying our bill, the fact that it was my birthday came up, and Jessica made us promise not to leave yet because she wanted to give me something. That turned out to be a complimentary dish of sweet coconut rice with sliced mango. The portions were so generous that some of the Tom Kha and Pad Thai are now in our refrigerator for tomorrow. Thank you, Jessica, and JJ who tag-teamed us tonight, and here's a special shout-out to Lucy who made the magic happen in the kitchen. The food, the service, the value, and the atmosphere were all exceptional. If you like Thai food as much as we do, head on out to Route 4 and treat yourself to a charming dinner experience at Charming Thai.

One got the sense that the other diners that evening felt much the same way. It was a weeknight, and with a lower customer load than might be the case on a Friday or weekend, she had ample time to spend with each party, regaling us all with fun conversation. It goes without saying that the company in one's own party makes a whale of a difference, and in that regards I could not have asked for better. This is to take nothing away from the food, which was absolutely delicious, flavorful and mercifully not too spicy - our aging gastrointestinal systems are sadly just not up for the violent torment from a chilli assault like when we were younger, and felt invincible. The mango rice dessert - enough for two to split - was sublime. And the town of Naugy itself - for both of us an unknown quantity til that evening despite having whizzed past it a ton on Route 8, hammering down the famous Naugahyde River Valley - is intriguing. Naugatuck offers gorgeous and fascinating architecture from the last two centuries at least, evidence of thriving mill-driven industry in years past, very easy access from the highway, and lots of close on-street parking, at least on a Thursday evening. BYOB if you are that way inclined, as they don't have a liquor license. Will we be back to Chiangmai Thai? Abso-frikkin-lutely. I've you've already been, then go back again, and soon. If you haven't had the pleasure, get moving now and thank me later.
