Service was awesome and I had the best tasting tom yum soup ever in my whole Thai loving experience! Why you ask? The chef is not stingy with the kaffir lime leaves and those make it next level amazing. Ambiance is ethnic with the biggest dining area out of any Thai restaurant I have been to.

I used to be a frequent visitor of the previous Thai Gourmet restaurant that used to be at the same location. I have since moved away from Houston, but was devastated hearing that this place had closed down. I was a little skeptical when my parents told me a new Thai place has reopened in the same spot, but was willing to give it a try. Started with an order of the spicy cheese rolls, which were very familiar but seemed to be lacking the spice I remember. Also got an order of the fried okra, crab fried rice, and cashew chicken. Went with medium heat on everything, but it seems a little more mild than I remember? Maybe that's my own taste being different. Regardless, I am so happy a comparable Thai restaurant has opened up. While it's not the exact same, there are many similarities to the original Thai Gourmet. They obviously set a high bar and Thai Garden has its work cut out for them. I'll be back!

We have been a regular at Thai Gourmet and now that this has opened, we do try going there as well. Some of the servers from Gourmet are still working there and know us by name ! Service is great always. Everything served is fresh. But everything tastes the same. We ordered basil fried rice, drunken noodles, eggplant chicken basil and Thai basil chicken. Literally everything looked & tasted same. Fried rice didn't taste good. Lately the consistency is an issue. Not sure if the chef has changed. They add too much veggies and you can barely see meat. We do Expect better from them. Ambiance is good and have added lot of synthetic flowers around.

KATY, TX 77507 / THAI / 05-07-23 / LUNCH +The customer service was excellent. +The pad thai was pretty good; a little on the sweet side, but very close to what you can find in . +The Tom Yum Goong was one of the best I ever had; a very well balance of sweet, spicy, and tang. +They have dry chili powder and Thai chilies in fish sauce as condiments, which were pretty good. -A lot of our utensils and plating were not washed well; lots of gunk stuck on some of the pieces. -The restaurant could use some deep cleaning, get rid some of the dust bunnies.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I was a huge Thai Gourmet fan. They have not lost a step with the change. If you want Thai in Houston, this is your place.

The food here has changed tremendously! It used to be good. The beef and chicken was dry and chewy. Had to put it off to the side it was like jerky. The sauce was ok. Egg roll came out hot at least.

I recently been to Thailand this year. And this is by far the best Thai food I had in Houston. I don't know who created crab fried rice but it's a must have.

I would call this place average at the most. We wear a regular at the Thai gourmet restaurant, which was located at the same location before Thai Garden opened. My expectations were not tempered well for this experience at Thai Garden because the predecessor served some really good Thai food. I felt the food at Thai Garden was watered down lacking flavor. The menu is very similar to how it was before. The staff is polite, and the service was good too. The ambience is just the same as it was before which in my opinion is great. I wish their food tasted as it was before.

I don't know exactly why I didn't order anything else after Papaya Salad...something was lil off...it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either so I decided not to order anything else.... I wouldn't recommend but everyone different, my fav Thai place might be your least fav and vice versa‍

Great thai restaurant!! It was very spacious and nicely decorated! The red curry was very flavorful and I picked the mild spicy level. I just wish the curry was a bit more thick and creamy. The green forest drink was very fresh and a good citrus flavor. The service was nice and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Thai restaurant. Food: The flavors were developed and spicing level was enjoyable. The lunch spring roll was a little too oily. Service: The waiters were excellent and very attentive. Atmosphere: Clean restaurant area and bathroom. Very fun and invited vibe. Parking: Ample parking. I came over the lunch hour so it wasn't full in the parking lot.

Ask the Community - Thai Garden Restaurant & Bar

Are there vegan options available?

Thai cuisine has many awesome vegan options. Most of our noodle and rice dishes have meat added only upon request. "No egg" requests are not a problem and dairy is rare in Thai food in general.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

Perfectly seasoned, crispy exterior. The sweet potato fries were equally delicious. I got the Hill Country salad. Same tender but crispy chicken on a bed of greens with berries. So good. Definitely bookmarked as a return option.

I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?

I loved the food and munched on it like a starving kitten. Pandemic hits and it severely limits my ability to go to places, but I still had the old flyer. I called the order in ahead and ordered a shrimp poboy for myself, a fish one for my husband and a chicken pasta for my mother. First things first, as its technically a catering company and due to restrictions with dine in service in Fort Bend County, I don't know if the inside will ever be meant for dining service. It seems it's meant mostly for pick up, but on the other hand restaurants are operating differently with the pandemic, so I can't say for sure. Now the food. Portions are huge. Our poboys were large enough that we split them to taste the other person's meal. I felt they were some of the best poboys, I've had. Probably the only better ones are the ones from New Orleans and that's high praise as it's New Orleans influenced dining. If you want to know, I think the fried fish poboy slightly edged out the shrimp poboy. I felt the taste of the shrimp at times got lost, whereas the fish poboy and all of the other components were balanced. However, it's such a slight difference in terms of taste, that you're not losing out if you're eating the shrimp poboy. But if you are eating with someone and they don't mind sharing, I do recommend swapping half your poboy. For my mother's meal, as a picky old lady, she was content, and that's rare. It was a lot of food, it came with vegetables and corn bread. She ate it and didn't complain. To me that's high praise. The only real "knock" as that while the bread pudding is good, I know you can get better bread pudding elsewhere. Also, as it seems to be a start up business, drink options are also limited. However, I think with time there will be more drink options/ As for the bread pudding, people are either going to agree with me or not. It's still good, but I don't think that's the highlight of this caterer/restaurant. The main dishes are what makes this place unique and I'd come here for those dishes or consider this place for events like weddings and bigger parties. The food is good enough to make everyone happy and if it's for a wedding or birthday party it's not like you'll need their dessert as wedding/birthday cakes tend to be ordered at bakeries. Definitely try it, and send me a note if you agree.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see her in action, first-hand...until now and WOW! Our school was having a food truck themed summer camp, which is a very popular camp that sells out every year. The kids create their own food trucks, starting with learning the behind the scenes of starting a food truck, such as logo design, menu design, a shopping list and then they build their own truck and cook some samplers from their menus. We have real food trucks come out for the kids to see, but this year was even better because Chef Shelby came into our culinary kitchen and gave our students and teachers an experience that they will never forget. From the start, she was very communicative and full of ideas on how she could create this experience for the kids. We provided the space and she and her team took it from there and made the rest of the magic happen. She gave a lesson to the kids about kitchen safety and how to create a menu to kick off Food Truck Camp. Then, she came back later in the week and made flat bread pizzas from scratch by modeling each step and assisting the kids as they made their own. She and her team were punctual, organized and very professional! The teachers and kids had a blast! Let's not forget to mention that she still made this experience possible even with dealing with the after effects of Hurricane Beryl!
