Unfortunately there is one particular employee that is so incredibly rude and unprofessional. She is unfriendly and short with us without a doubt every single time. Never a smile or thank you. I have called and spoken with the manager and shared my frustration on a couple occasions, their response is we've talked to her and there nothing we can do. We really wanted to like this place. We just moved from West Jordan, and was looking for a great Thai place. The food here here is very mediocre and salt overpowers the flavor. The owners are very friendly and attentive to your needs, but sad to say the food is extremely salty. It started with the egg drop soup ...salty!!! We ordered spicy thai chicken wings and chuckled at them, they are a boneless piece of chicken shaped like a wing, deep fried and then squirted with a few drops of Siracha on each "wing." We both ordered the chicken red curry, wow! on the salt factor even the plain white rice couldn't tame it down. The Thai flavors are there, but getting past the saltiness was hard. The food here is excellent, among the best Thai in Utah and I've done the legwork. The only reason I held a star is for the ambiance. Our large group nearly left because the restaurant looks like it would suck with the dark open room and looming buffet. We skipped the buffet and tried everything from soup to vegetarian curry to a chicken noodle dish not even on the menu. Our food was freshly made and delicious. All of it. I have a strict no buffet rule, nobody needs that much food. Go with freshness over volume here and focus on the people you're dining with instead of the decor. Be aware, they only serve a very limited selection of beer - no wine. And the owner said they weren't planning to renew their license so this will soon be an alcohol-free restaurant. Sweet & sour chicken? More like sweet & sour veggies. Let me start with the good. The Thai iced tea was delicious, one of the best tasting we've had. The sweet & sour chicken flavor was good as well, just enough sweet, just enough sour. The staff was nice, and we ordered take out. The bad: portions are weird. There was probably 4 or 5 pieces of chicken in the whole plate, and I mean small pieces of chicken. The rest was veggies and sauce. And don't get wrong, I like veggies, but if I'm paying for chicken, I want chicken. The soup that was included tasted like hot water and salt. The white rice that is included was 1 cup size. My wife and I love Thai food and maybe we're used to larger portions, but this alone made it that we will not be back. And I actually liked it, just give me more chicken!! I wish I had a picture. Excellent flavor in their Thai dishes! I was hesitant at first as the look of my usual drunken noodles dish looked very different than any other Thai restaurant I have experienced--even when I visited Thailand. Once I took a bite I was blown away at how delicious it was and finished my plate quickly! I took a spice level of 5 and added more Thai chili powder at the table (mistake)! next time I will order a 5 and not add extra chili so it will be perfect! The only issue we had and reason for taking one star away is as we were passing by the front counter a teenage girl jumped up to meet us and quickly and rudely said "Did you PAY?!" - granted my friend and I were sitting at the table for a little extra time chatting after our meal, however the rudeness of this young girl was uncalled for! Throughout our dinner we noticed a very large table of teenagers and others (it appeared to be a family who may or may not have been related to the owners). Our server was another young girl who would come by after getting up from this large table. We thought it was odd but because the food was so good and the cooks eventually came out to ask us how our meal was, we were not bothered by the inconsistency in service from our server. I honestly expected that the girl jumped to the counter to ask us how was our meal or to at "thanks for coming in" --certainly NOT the accusatory tone she had. I will go back for the food. If we experience the same rudeness we will have to skip this place or just get takeout. SLC has quite a few great Thai restaurants worth driving out of my way for so no loss if we switch. read more

You are treated like family, so that alone deserves a recommendation The food is prepared fresh and served hot. Their soups make you want to order another soup order to go. Very good. The lunch buffet is generous, diverse and made fresh. By this I mean that they prepare relatively small dishes and replenish them with freshly made food rather than a huge batch that goes stale Happy to return every time. read more

The absolute worst customer service in town. Went in for a late dinner, they don't close till 10 got there at 8:55 was greeted by one of the owners daughter I assume ,(She had a maroon shirt and white crocs ) I guessed my daughter and I interrupted her dinner party . She didn't say hello to us as we both greeted her . Her tone was so rude I wanted to ask if she was having a bad day . I decided not to. I am new in town, so I decided to give this a try anyways despite the rude service so far . Thankfully the girls sister saved the day and came to take our order . She was much more pleasant! So thank you to the sister who had some manners. The food itself was mediocre. We didn't get any drinks. Needless to say we probably aren't coming back no matter how desperate we are for Thai food . I'd probably go 3.5 if that was an option. I'm always on the hunt for good Thai and this was recommended by a few different folks. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot for the money. The menu is limited, missing some of the more common entrees. Soup was included with dinner. I use Pad Thai at every restaurant as the initial order. It was unusual here. I have been going to Thai Jasmine for the last three years and they are fantastic! I am from Southern California and I have to say, for a Utah restaurant in Syracuse nonetheless - this place is legit. I love their Panang curry with shrimp, spice level #8. The staff (mostly family run) are always friendly and welcoming. Yes, the decor inside this place is different from the norm! But isn't variety the spice of life? Crawl out of your one-note lil' Utah shells and give them a try. Maybe even challenge yourself to strike up some conversation with the staff outside of "I'd like to order - - - ".... you know, they are people too! Just like me and you. Furthermore, we are on the back end of a "pandemic" that all but crushed small business. Great little family-owned places like this that are now gone forever. Is you have never ever had thai food before save yourself the money and time and find somewhere else to go. This place must masquerade as some sort of proxy by night secret alternative gathering place with the completely covered windows and the weird interior decor and the stacked chairs around the walls.. Now let's move to the food.. This is the worst Thai food I have yet had the unfortunate circumstance of having had to consume in Utah yet. I reluctantly ate only a few bites of this after I went to use the restroom and caught a quick view of the kitchen and realized the predicament I had gotten myself into. Eating here makes me think that anyone can open up a Thai eating establishment regardless of qualifications. The worst part of it all is the service. We sat down and ordered our food and didn't see if for another 20 minutes at least maybe closer to 30. Avoid this place at all cost. Find yourself another place to eat. This place doesn't deserve to use the Thai genre in classification of its food as it borders more along the line of garbag ------/////-------- Updating our review post 2 days Every single one of us who at there came down with severe diarrhea and vomiting. I wanted to like this place. We moved to the area about two years ago. This was one of the first restaurants we visited. We spent a small fortune to feed our family, which we expected. But the disappointment came when I ordered one of the curry dishes and it has about four pieces of chicken and the rest was bamboo shoots. Fast forward two years: We have an Entertainment Guide coupon book for BOGO. We thought, "Sure, why not." The good: the fresh spring rolls. $5.00 for five 'halves'. However, the peanut sauce was way too sweet. We also ordered the Satay Chicken. $10.50 for five tenders. Tasty. Same peanut sauce as the spring rolls. I kind of wish I had known that before hand. I may have ordered a different appetizer. It comes time to order the entrees. I ask many questions. The server . . . wait, let me take a moment here and talk about the servers. All three of them were dressed in spandex workout pants and tennis shoes. They looked about 16 and I assume they were all sisters. But, workout pants? Assuming these three girls (since there were physical similarities) were related to the owners, you'd assume they'd know their stuff when it came to questions about items on the menu. Literally, I mean LITERALLY, every question I asked was, "I don't know." Let me give you an example of part of the conversation: Me: "Hi, what do you recommend?" Her: "Oh, everything is really good." Me: "Sure. What about the beef and bell peppers?" Her: "What about it? Me: "Is it good? How is it prepared? And is the meat tender?" Her: "Tender? I don't know what you mean." Me: "You know, is it easy to chew, or is it tough and a bit gristley?" Her: "I don't know, sorry." Me: "Have you had it?" Her: "Yes." Me: "Ok, so what are your thoughts? Her: "I don't know." This same type of conversation happened again regarding two more items. I finally asked: Me: "So, actually, one of my favorite Thai dishes is a chicken and Thai basil dish, but I don't think I saw it on the menu. Do you have that?" Her: "Oh, sure, we get that request all the time. We can do that." Me: "Great! That's what I'd like." Her: "Do you want it with vegetables, too?" Me: "No, thanks. Just chicken with the basil." I get my meal and there's onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, sprouts, and basil in a soupy sauce. They charged me $10.99. If I hadn't have had the appetizers, I would have gone next door the Carl's Jr. to get more to eat. Look at the pictures, those small, square plates are what they are charging $10 for, and my portion wasn't as big as what you're seeing. Other negatives: We arrived and there was what we thought a fruit fly flying around in front of our faces. I was able to clap my hands and kill it. All of a sudden, there are two more flying around in our faces. One lands. It didn't take long to see that it wasn't a fruit fly (in the middle of January), but in fact a baby garbage fly. Two of them. In our faces. Resting on our food and table. You seat yourself. They don't bring you a check. You have to go to the front where they have lined up the checks on the counter. With the BOGO, our dinner still cost us $38. I have no issue paying good money for a good meal and good service. But with what I got, I'd rather get a stuffed flank steak from the Smith's butcher counter, then head over to the deli and get a risotto salad, then head to the bakery and get a mini cake for a lot less money. I didn't feel this was a value, nor a good experience. And, yes, the restaurant is dated. read more

The green curry and the red curry were both fantastic! Our daughter also enjoyed the curries, especially the bell peppers in them. A chef came out of the kitchen and offered more sliced peppers for our daughter, since she couldn't get enough, and we were very grateful! Have been here a few times now. I will begin by saying that this is a newer restaurant and I think the earlier reviews may have not been as favorable due to the newness of the restaurant. My experience was that the service was great. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. The head chef and owner is a Thai native she came out and met us as well. Both times I have been here I have really enjoyed the food. The flavors have been right on the money and the portions are good sizes, just how they should be. All the food is made to order so its not sitting around all day like so many of these other ethnic style places. As far as price goes they are not any different than any chain restaurant. One of my pet peeves with a lot of Chinese style restaurants is the amount of filler items, like onions, peppers, etc...you get with an order. My meal which was pad ped had the right ratio of protein to vegetables. I liked the sauce and found it to be perfect heat for me; I like it spicy but not overbearing. Overall they could work on the presentation as they bring out 2 plates, one with a scoop of rice, the other with the entree. My friend ordered the curry which had a nice flavor, again not too much with the curry, but enough to feel it. I enjoyed the food and will definitely go back. If you aren't familiar with Thai talk to the server she will guide you through the process as she knows her stuff. So I just moved to Utah from California. They have so many amazing Thai food places in CA, and I have also been to Thailand and eaten authentic Thai food first hand. I understand not every Thai food place is going to taste the same, especially in the US etc...I was craving Thai food, and figured this is close to the new digs, let me do take out. Unfortunately this was the worst Thai food I ever had :( I ordered 2 very simple things that are not hard to mess up. Pad Thai, and fried rice. The pad Thai was dry, and had a weird taste and after taste to it. The fried rice was very different than any thai friend rice I have ever had...it also had an off taste to it...it wasn't spoiled, it just tasted weird... I can't really explain it, but it just didn't taste like Thai food....I was disappointed to say the least...especially after craving it so badly. Oh well. I guess I will have to keep looking for my go to Thai food place in David County, this place is definitely not it. read more

I live close to Thai Jasmine but hadn't tried it because of some of the reviews on yelp and some feedback from friends that ate here when it first opened. Tonight we finally decided to give it a shot. The owner ( I assume it is the owner, an older Thai gentleman) was there and was very nice. Because of that I really wanted to like it but....... The Pad Thai was good. Not spectacular but I'd eat there regularly if all of the food was as good. The Papaya with sticky rice was disgusting. I've never had papaya salad that tasted like this. It wasn't that it was rotten or bad, it was that teh citrus flavor in it couldn't have been from anything other than concentrated lime juice (the type you buy in the grocery store in the little green plastic balls). There was no way that there was any natural fruit in it. Don't believe me? Head on over and order some. Every Thai restaurant is different but generally my favorite thai dish is beef salad. It was also made with that same super concentrated citrus flavoring. The Tom Ka soup was just as bad, it almost tasted like it had that same flavoring in it, though to be fair i may have been associating it with the other two dishes. Regardless, it was not good. Even the consistency was poor. Most tom ka soup is a consistent white fluid. This was like small white grains in water, similar to milk when it starts to separate. Lastly, the yellow curry was not very good. It wasn't bad like the last three dishes, it just wasn't good enough for me to go back for. interestingly, it tasted really saltly, just like other reviewers have said here on yelp. Our order was take-out and we ended throwing everything away except for the Pad Thai and yellow curry. The yellow curry will likely make it's way to the garbage in the next day or so as well. So, if you want just Pad Thai, might not be a bad place to go. As for us, we won't be back. Too bad, would have been nice to have a good thai restaurant so close. read more

This place has the best Pad Thai in the area! Everything I have tried, which is about 1/2 the menu at this point, has been nothing but delicious. The owner and chef is Thai born and knows how to cook! My favorite so far has been the Tom Kah Kai. I love, love, love the peanut sauce, I could drink the stuff like water! This is definitely the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. This is not a "Chinese" food joint who serves Thai (which always ends up tasting like "Chinese" food). The food prepared at Thai Jasmine are authentic and delicious. I bring my picky eaters, 4 kids, here and they will eat anything that is served them. I love to start my meal with the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce and end my meal with the Sweet Rice with Mango, or ice cream, if mango isn't in season. Not only is the food excellent, made to order fresh, but the prices are extremely reasonable. I have been to 6 other "Thai" food restaurants in the Salt Lake to Ogden areas, and this one stands above the rest in flavor, authenticity and Value. They aren't very busy, but you get lots of personal attention from the family that runs the place. You might have a granddaughter pouring your water, husband telling you Vietnam stories, or how he and his wife met, etc. Ask about the photo's on the walls, they are authentic too! A hidden gem far off the beaten path! We discovered this place last year as we were driving through to a nearby farm. This is by far some of the best Thai food we have ever eaten - and we've been to most of the Thai places in Salt Lake City. When we planned our trip the the farm this year, we were sure to plan in time to dine here. I love the Pad Ped and my wife enjoyed the Thai teriyaki. We warned, the spiciness is on the Thai heat scale so unless you can truly take the heat, be sure to order it mild. The ambiance could use some work - having a football game going overhead was kind of odd - and there are weird party streamers hanging from half of the ceiling. It's the best. I LOVE THAI FOOD!! It's family owned business. Yes it's spicy but depending on who makes ur food usually puts the spices on the side so u can put as much as u want.
