Nice bright little place with mostly tables for 2 but a couple larger. Friendly staff. Green papaya salad excellent with a few sturdy lettuce leaves if you like to make roll ups, though it has a lot of liquid so that can be risky! Level 4 on their spice scale of 1-5 is perfect. After hearing good things about Thai Chef and driving by it everyday we decided to give it a try. As many have said is is a quaint little spot with limited seating. I think their automated online ordering system was having issues as it told us our food would be ready in 15 to 30 minutes. But wasn't ready when we arrived 25 minutes later. I don't think they started cooking until we arrived as she couldn't find our order and asked to see our phone receipt. It took another 15 for the food to be prepared. The prices were reasonable and a little less expensive than other Thai food options but I think the proportions were a little smaller too. We tried the Golden Bags, not sure what they are, similar to cream cheese wontons and they were good, 4/5. Shrimp Tempura 3/5, couldn't really taste the shrimp with the heavy batter and I would like a few vegetables mixed in. Thai Chef (or is it W Thai Chef as their sign reads?) is a cozy place in Kaysville center that advertises itself as a Thai restaurant. I'm not sure if it is really Thai, or more Chinese in style. They have a little kiosk at the front where you place your order on a touch screen. I ordered the Pad See Ew with pork. I noted that I wanted it spicy and then pushed the pay screen where I was prompted to leave a 20% tip. For what? I thought. I dropped it down to $1 as a tip and I'm glad I left something because they do bring your food to you at the table. But 20% for a take out type place is a joke. When I received my dish, they had forgotten to make it spicy per my request, so, I tried to amp it up with some sriracha. Then, the cook came out and with an apology, gave me a small tin with spice - which carried a lot of punch. I sprinkled it over my dish, which was a nicely sized portion of tasty wide noodles with what might have been pork, scrambled eggs, a couple of broccoli tips and some carrot slices incorporated into the dish. It didn't seem to have had as many veggies as I'd seen in the photo when I made my order, but it was really quite tasty. But, it seemed to be made in a Chinese lo mein style (which I really like) but, not too much like a true Thai style dish. The place was clean, the owners were very pleasant and the noodles were quite good. Because I really liked the flavor of the noodles, I'll try it again. But, I will now know what to expect. And maybe I'll try a curry or such to see how they do on a more traditional Thai dish. read more

I have eaten here multiple times and have been happy to very happy every single game time. Favorites are: Tom Kha soup, Pad See Ew & especially the red curry (I like mine all veggie no meat). This place is awesome. Delicious food, friendly staff, and the touch screen ordering system is super user friendly. The menu is small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed by choices, and large enough to offer a good variety of dishes. I got drunken noodles with tofu and it was really good! My food was done in under 10 minutes and the portion was big enough I got two meals out of it! I didn't stay to eat, but inside has a three 2 person booths, one 4 person table, a 6 person table, and two outside dining table that seat 2 people. There isn't a ton of space for a large group per say, but it was very clean and well decorated. Give it a try, I highly recommend it. read more

I feel bad writing this review but the food does not taste Thai at all. I ordered the pad see ew and the dish didn't taste like pad see ew at all. First, the noodle type wasn't right. The noodles are supposed to be extra wide, flat rice noodles but these were just wider rice noodles, not the typical type that's used. Second, the flavor wasn't right. Did it taste like generic stir fry noodles? Sure! But if you're looking for THAI pad see ew, you won't get that. The flavor was generally mute. With pad see ew, you're looking t for a rich, dark soy sauce color. These noodles didn't even have the look of a traditional pad see ew. Third, the noodle to protein portion wasn't right. There was SO much noodle and so little meat. If you looking for decent stir fry noodles for a good price, you should come here. But if you're looking for authentic Thai food, pass on this place. read more

Drunken noodles with chicken level 2 spice were very good!! They have the Thai spice scale of 1-5. 2 was a good balanced spice for me, and I like spicy. I can't believe I didn't know this little restaurant came into town early in the year. Otherwise I would have been coming sooner and quite often. I've been to Thailand and had legit Thai food there as well as in other parts of the country. This little place sits up there in quality tasting food! Normally I order from 99 Thai Fusion and/or Thai Rod Dee in Layton. Nice to have something much closer to home to now go to. I also ordered their veggie egg rolls and 6 comes in an order. We moved to Kaysville in 2019 and it's only taken us 5 years to finally try TC; what a big mistake. (Insert image of me slapping my forehead here...) We love good Thai and have tried many a Thai restaurant; some good, some just OK, some not so good. What a surprise this little gem of a restaurant has turned out to be! We were blown away with how good every item we ordered was. We tried: the Veggie Egg Rolls, Chicken Dumplings (aka Wontons), Shrimp Tempura, Pad Thai noodles w/ chicken, and finally, the Pineapple Fried Rice. We found each and every item to be excellent. Everything had a fresh clean taste with absolutely no hint of that greasy-ness you will sometimes get; as a byproduct of Asian food preparation. The portion sizes are good and we found pricing to be on par; if not maybe even a little on the lower end of what we have experienced elsewhere. We used the mobile online ordering and received a confirmation text reply; our order was ready in about 20 minutes and was 100% correct. More than I can say for most places around today of any cuisine type. I also found the restaurant to be very clean and those who helped me, very polite, friendly, and attentive to ensuring my order was right. I'm not sure what else you could ask for? read more

We love Thai Chef! We probably get take out from here once a week. Everything we've tried is always fresh, delicious, and hot! Their golden bags are absolutely a must order! I always order the Pad See Ew with chicken and my husband typically sticks with the Drunken Noodle, but we've also tried their curries and fried rices and have never been disappointed. My only complaint would be their spice levels aren't always consistent. I think there are so many people in the area who truly don't like spice that they're afraid to make it too spicy. I always order mine with a 2 spice and typically ask for a side of their spice to make sure it has the right amount of heat. Happy to have a great Thai place in Kaysville! read more

The food here is DELICIOUS! We like supporting local businesses and were excited to try this place after hearing so many good things about it from friends and neighbors. We've been back multiple times and have yet to find a dish we don't love. The portions are large and filling, we always agree we should be splitting a dish but we just can't help ourselves.
