Portland has more than its fair share of Thai eateries, but this is the one you absolutely can not…read moremiss! On our trip up from the Bay, we found this gem, and though it's about 30 min away from downtown Portland, it's worth the drive. We kept our order small, as we had been eating all day as is, and it was just my BF and I. However, after the first bite, I was soooooo sad we didn't order more. If there is any dish you must get here, its the drunken noodles (pad kee mao). OH EM GEE, I can not begin to explain to you how good this dish was. I love drunken noodles, it's one of the staple dishes I order when ever I eat at a Thai resto, but this one here completely blows all other ones out of the water. The sauce on the dish is perfection. The noodles are so thick and soft, with the perfect chew to them. I love that they add a variety of veggies, like tomato, mushrooms, bell peppers, and hellaaa basil! Thai basil adds so much vibrancy and a distinct flavor that can't be replicated, so when you skimp, your dish ends up a little flat. Thai Roddee gets it right. I chose medium spice on this (they have levels 1-3) and the spicy level was perfect for me. Spicy enough, but not crying. My BF wanted to try the sausage fried rice. He's a rice guy, I'm a noodle girl, but this works as we can share the best of both worlds. They did not skimp on the chinese sausage in this dish! I feel like every bite had a piece of sausage in it. He opted for level 1 spicy and I didn't taste any spiciness at all, so if you're into mild heat, you should be fine with this. The fried rice had its usual ingredients, peas, carrots, eggs. The fried rice had so much flavor already, but was especially delicious when I mixed in some of the chili oil they included on the side. The portion sizes for the fried rice and drunken noodles were insane. You get SOOO much food! Which is great because even when you're stuffed, you're going to want some more. We were able to eat this for 2 meals between the both of us, and then still have a little more left over. I wanted something a little crunchy on the side, so we went with the crab puffs. These are essentially crab rangoons, served with sweet chili sauce. I love that they use sweet chili sauce as a dip, instead of the gross deep pink one that some Chinese restos like to serve. This makes all the difference. We waited a little while before we were able to eat this, so the wonton wrapper wasn't as crunchy as I would have liked. The filling to wrapper ratio was good, and the filling was sweet and creamy. I like that they packed this with a hole in the container so some of the steam could release, and prevent sogginess. These little details matter!! Wash your meal down with some Thai tea! It's creamy and sweet, without being overly sweet, and I love that they use the good ice.. IYKYK. The owners are such a sweet and friendly couple! They were nice enough to throw in some sticky rice and mango dessert, since we trekked through the horrible storm to get to them. I'd do it again a million times over because their food is seriously THAT good. Unfortunately the food truck is parked in an area without seating, but there are a few parking spots in the center of the lot if you want to just park and eat. We didn't want to hog up space, so we drove down a couple blocks to the Safeway parking lot and had a few bites before we went back to our hotel. The owners told us they'll provide seating and tables once the weather gets better and that the lot itself should offer covered dining areas in the near future. I am so glad my BF and I decided to make the trip because Thai Roddee is now one of my fav spots. They're newly opened, so they don't have many reviews yet, but it's a shame because the food is top tier. We'll be back each and every time we make it to Portland!

There's a thai place right next to my house that gives three times the amount of food for $15 with comparable flavor. I gave it 3 stars for flavor, but the more I thought about it, the more I saw it just wasn't that much better than every other Thai place. I've never ordered Pad See Ew and finished it. Much less finish it and still be hungry You can see in the other review photos how small the portions are, so this wasn't a one-off thing. Maybe the prices were better when those reviews were written? Those people dont seem thrown off by the amount. IDK. Not worth it, go somewhere else.

It's easily missed, tucked over there, but it's a gem that should be noticed! The woman who runs/owns the truck is so helpful and nice. We had several questions when choosing which dishes to order and she patiently helped us choose. We ordered a variety of dishes with pork, chicken and crab. Everything was very good! The dishes have great flavors, prepared perfectly and served hot. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable. There's a nice variety of dishes, sides, appetizers and drinks to choose from. There's plenty of parking in the large parking lot. For nice days there's outdoor tables if you'd like to have your meal on site. If you're looking for good Thai food in the area this is a spot to stop in to try.

Such a talented chef who has always made us exceptional meals. Everything is full of flavor and beautifully presented even though it's in a Togo container. We've tried all of the yummy appetizers. Our go to order is pad Thai with shrimp, cashew nut with chicken, mango sticky rice, spring rolls and tempura shrimp. Never disappointed and we get 2 meals out of it! She doesn't even charge you when you ask for extra sauces. We feel so lucky to have such a great place in our area. I'll take pictures next time and post them.

They have a small and cozy dining hall that was full. I had all ready had an idea of what I would order but quickly looked at the menu just in case I wanted to take additional item home. I ordered papaya salad, pad see ew, and tom ka soup. I also got a thai tea to go. I might have waited 15-20 minutes for my order. There were also several call in orders that people came in to pick up. I am surprised at the speed they produced the food. The bench seat had a small view of the kitchen. I believe this is a very efficient full fledged family restaurant. Everyone was friendly and nice. The way they packaged the food was thoughtful. I had a 20 minute drive back home. It stayed warm /hot and no leakage even with the soup. Now the food: Papaya salad was delicious. Great flavor. My only issue is it was marked on the menu as spicy. *Morgan Freeman voice* -it was not in fact spicy. It was completely spice free. I know that SE asians are sweet to profile us pale people as no heat, but I was really looking forward to spice.... So for next time I will request heat added as I am a non-practicing alabaster person. To be fair, every fair complexion person with a togo order clarified that their food was "non spicy." I can't call them out for playing it safe. Yes queens. Pad see ew: shrimp was my protein. It was delicious. Regular broccoli was used. Chinese broc might be out of season. I don't care. It was great. Will eat again FR. Tom ka soup: the gem of this story. They made it without onions, be praised, as I have a horrible allergy and most of my one star food reviews are about food safety in relationship to ignoring food allergies. This was fresh, flavorful, bright. Great protein to both ratio. Probably one of the best versions I have ever had. Will be ordering again. Probably regularly. Thai tea: was great. Ice, tea, milk ratio good. I like less ice in my drinks... she somehow knew this. Now I know if I want Thai I have a place to call Thai Home (see what I did there), that I won't have to drive twice the distance to Portland to get fantastic Thai food. Honestly, I think this is way better than most of the thai restaurants in the greater portland area. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and subsequent left overs! 10/10.

We stopped in on the way through and the food was great! Would stop by again for sure.read more
