Portland has more than its fair share of Thai eateries, but this is the one you absolutely can not…read moremiss! On our trip up from the Bay, we found this gem, and though it's about 30 min away from downtown Portland, it's worth the drive. We kept our order small, as we had been eating all day as is, and it was just my BF and I. However, after the first bite, I was soooooo sad we didn't order more. If there is any dish you must get here, its the drunken noodles (pad kee mao). OH EM GEE, I can not begin to explain to you how good this dish was. I love drunken noodles, it's one of the staple dishes I order when ever I eat at a Thai resto, but this one here completely blows all other ones out of the water. The sauce on the dish is perfection. The noodles are so thick and soft, with the perfect chew to them. I love that they add a variety of veggies, like tomato, mushrooms, bell peppers, and hellaaa basil! Thai basil adds so much vibrancy and a distinct flavor that can't be replicated, so when you skimp, your dish ends up a little flat. Thai Roddee gets it right. I chose medium spice on this (they have levels 1-3) and the spicy level was perfect for me. Spicy enough, but not crying. My BF wanted to try the sausage fried rice. He's a rice guy, I'm a noodle girl, but this works as we can share the best of both worlds. They did not skimp on the chinese sausage in this dish! I feel like every bite had a piece of sausage in it. He opted for level 1 spicy and I didn't taste any spiciness at all, so if you're into mild heat, you should be fine with this. The fried rice had its usual ingredients, peas, carrots, eggs. The fried rice had so much flavor already, but was especially delicious when I mixed in some of the chili oil they included on the side. The portion sizes for the fried rice and drunken noodles were insane. You get SOOO much food! Which is great because even when you're stuffed, you're going to want some more. We were able to eat this for 2 meals between the both of us, and then still have a little more left over. I wanted something a little crunchy on the side, so we went with the crab puffs. These are essentially crab rangoons, served with sweet chili sauce. I love that they use sweet chili sauce as a dip, instead of the gross deep pink one that some Chinese restos like to serve. This makes all the difference. We waited a little while before we were able to eat this, so the wonton wrapper wasn't as crunchy as I would have liked. The filling to wrapper ratio was good, and the filling was sweet and creamy. I like that they packed this with a hole in the container so some of the steam could release, and prevent sogginess. These little details matter!! Wash your meal down with some Thai tea! It's creamy and sweet, without being overly sweet, and I love that they use the good ice.. IYKYK. The owners are such a sweet and friendly couple! They were nice enough to throw in some sticky rice and mango dessert, since we trekked through the horrible storm to get to them. I'd do it again a million times over because their food is seriously THAT good. Unfortunately the food truck is parked in an area without seating, but there are a few parking spots in the center of the lot if you want to just park and eat. We didn't want to hog up space, so we drove down a couple blocks to the Safeway parking lot and had a few bites before we went back to our hotel. The owners told us they'll provide seating and tables once the weather gets better and that the lot itself should offer covered dining areas in the near future. I am so glad my BF and I decided to make the trip because Thai Roddee is now one of my fav spots. They're newly opened, so they don't have many reviews yet, but it's a shame because the food is top tier. We'll be back each and every time we make it to Portland!

There's a thai place right next to my house that gives three times the amount of food for $15 with comparable flavor. I gave it 3 stars for flavor, but the more I thought about it, the more I saw it just wasn't that much better than every other Thai place. I've never ordered Pad See Ew and finished it. Much less finish it and still be hungry You can see in the other review photos how small the portions are, so this wasn't a one-off thing. Maybe the prices were better when those reviews were written? Those people dont seem thrown off by the amount. IDK. Not worth it, go somewhere else.

If you are looking for authentic, high-quality Thai food, look no further than Bangkok Station…read more After trying countless spots where the quality is a total gamble--sometimes okay, other times practically inedible--finding Pic's truck has been a total game-changer. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) is the most consistently delicious version I've ever had. While other places serve up inconsistent messes, Pic nails the flavor and texture every single time. It's officially my absolute go-to! I've also branched out to the Spicy Basil Beef, which is excellent, and you can tell the Fresh Rolls are actually fresh, not pulled out of a freezer bag. To top it all off, the Mango with Sticky Rice is scrumptious; I saw that Pic actually cut the mango fresh for my orders. It is clear that she puts her heart into this business. From the freshness of the ingredients to the wonderful depth of flavor, the quality is unmatched. If you want Thai food you can actually rely on to be great every time, go see Pic at Bangkok Station!

The mango sticky rice at the end was out of this world.

We alternate between the chicken and the pork because both are so good! We also love the pho here. The broth is so flavorful and the meats and noodles are all good quality. They've added a selection of desserts to choose from now. We recently tried the creme brûlée and it was very good. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The interior has 2 levels so we were seated at a table on the main floor. My mother ordered a vegan pad woon sen and salad rolls. My spouse had tempura shrimp and tempura calamari. I ordered the mixed seafood Pad Ka Pao. My dish was very good. Hitting the sweet, sour, salty, savory sauce over expertly cooked vegetables. The calamari in my dish and in the tempura were overcooked and rubbery, but the tempura batter on both the shrimp and calamari were shatteringly crisp. The salad rolls were great. Unfortunately, the bar was unable to serve my spouse the cocktail she wanted due to lack of ingredients. This seemed unusual since we were seated early evening with no other customers. I couldn't get the tap beer of my choice as their tap was broken. The service was OK and he did follow up with us during dinner. The decor was average but the water spots on the ceiling tiles were a little off putting. I do plan to return as there were many dishes on the menu that I really want to try. Still cost less than $100 for 3 with drinks and tip.

It's a casual little spot where you order at the counter, grab a seat, and let the food do the talking. The decor is an eclectic mix of Minion collectibles and what I can only describe as "yard sale chic." Somehow, instead of feeling cluttered, it just feels comfortable. Judging by the steady stream of takeout orders while I was there, the locals have already figured out what matters. And what matters is the food. I stopped in for a casual business lunch and ordered the Kua Kai. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender, everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the presentation was honestly much more elegant than I expected from such an unassuming little restaurant. It looked like someone genuinely cared about what landed on the plate, and it tasted that way too The person I was having lunch with actually lives in the area but had never been there before. By the end of the meal, she was already talking about coming back. Is this your anniversary dinner destination? Probably not. But if you've been together long enough that neither of you feels the need to impress the other with fancy light fixtures and reclaimed barn wood, you're going to have a fantastic meal. For me, this is an easy recommendation. Great food, friendly service, and proof that sometimes the best restaurants spend a little less money decorating the shelves and a little more effort perfecting what's on the plate.
