Their food went to hell overnight. Ordered the Basil Chicken and its overcooked chicken breast (not thigh as it used to be), watery sauce, a completely different breading, and barely any basil. Flavorless garbage. We will not return. This is a disgrace. It used to be good. read more

Seriously amazing food! Just stopped by the trucks to decide on something for lunch. Didn't go craving Thai, but saw Pinto and decided it sounded good. We ordered chicken pad cashew, pineapple fried rice, and crab Rangoon. The wait wasn't long, but it would've been worth most any wait. Lunch was DELICIOUS. Loads of beautiful bright fresh veggies. Amazing taste...a feast for the eyes and the stomach! We loved EVERYTHING we ate. I've stopped at this truck court many times....why o why haven't I chosen Pinto before today?! I will be back...probably every time I pass through Sandy. read more

Excellent Thai food! I would put this "Food Truck" up against any brick and mortar restaurant I have eaten at, including those in Thailand. There are several dishes that we use for baseline comparison. Green curry, Pad Thai, and spring rolls. The green curry was delicious, spicy and creamy with the perfect amount of protein. It was as good the second day as it was the first. I believe it was one of the best Green Curry dishes I have had, including those at "high end designer Thai" restaurants. The spring rolls were hot, flavorful, excellent. The Pad Thai was not too sweet, the common mistake with many Thai restaurants that try to accommodate US tastes. It was perfect and did not overwhelm with fish sauce. The veggies were crisp and fresh, not cooked to mush. The staff at the truck were pleasant and friendly. Overall and excellent experience. The sad thing is that locals were not aware of the gem this place is. We asked several guides about Thai restaurants and none mentioned this place. Highly recommend. read more

I got Tom Yum and price was much higher than what is shown on Yelp. Mushrooms were fresh but other veggies were mushy. No lime leaves. Had green beans lots of onions. Editing review... got spicy beef drunken noodles for husband and he is eating now. The beef is "funky" and he's going to "doctor it up". Will update when he's finished. Lost one star. He's liking his meal more now... back up another star, but honestly I will not return. read more

Ordered the chicken pad Thai, chicken pad see ew, and the salad rolls. Both noodle dishes were really good. They don't ask if you want it spicy or not so if you do like it spicy ask for chili oil on the side! The portions were solid as well. The salad rolls were good but I wasn't a huge fan of their peanut sauce which is typically one of my favorite sauces. It is located in a food truck park so it's outdoor seating only. Overall I highly recommend it. read more

We've ordered dinner from Pinto Thai three times in the last two weeks. There are two other Thai restaurants in Sandy but what drew us to to Pinto Thai was the Khao Man Gai (Chicken Rice). Nice, to not have to go into Portland for this dish. The Chicken rice was tasty and the Khao Man Gai sauce is packed with flavor. The Crispy Basil Garlic Chicken was perfectly crisp. The Pad Kra Prow was really flavorful over jasmine rice. The salad rolls are a great compliment and the peanut sauce is slightly sweet and a good different. We love that peanut sauce! Portion size is enough to share or leftovers for the next day. So happy to have found Pinto Thai at the Sandlandia Food Cart Pod in downtown Sandy. They're open 11 am-8pm and located just off the highway. There are a few parking spots in the pod and street parking. read more

Updating my review since my first one was right when they opened here in Sandy. I added one star to this one because they have added more interesting items and I think their food is a little better. Today I had Chicken pad Thai, Tofu salad rolls and Thai iced coffee. They have better packaging now and my pad Thai was very good, it had a good amount of fresh garlic which was a nice surprise, along with 2 big wedges of lime and lots of fresh crunchy bean sprouts. The salad rolls were very fresh and tasty, I would have liked a fresh mint leaf in there for more flavor. The peanut sauce was nice and warm so that was a bonus. The Thai iced coffee was great, it was nice and strong and mixed with real cream. I really need to explore the menu more and try some different dishes. Next time it will be the Tom Yum noodle soup! read more

We used to love their crispy basil chicken. It was crispy and oh so good. What I picked up yesterday was nothing like what we used to get. The chicken was dry, not crispy and swimming in sauce. Note that the old version didn't have a lot of sauce. It appeared that the cook just threw the cooked chicken in a ton of sauce, so much sauce that it was leaking out of the container and I had to pour it into the rice container so it wouldn't get all over everything. All in all, the chicken was terrible and I ended up throwing it away. Not sure why this dish is so awful now and I'll be very hesitant to order it again, which is a shame cause it used to be good. read more

I'm sorry it took me so long to write this review. We've eaten at Pinto Thai Kitchen so much in the last year, that they know our usual order. Lately, we've branched out a little and tried different things on the menu. The food is ALWAYS fresh. We would drive back to Welches with it and by the time we got home, it was STILL hot. The food is ALWAYS good. It's hard to find a restaurant that is consistently good, no matter the time or day - Pinto Thai Kitchen has consistency nailed. The staff is so kind and friendly. Some of our favorite dishes - pineapple fried rice, house curry, pot stickers, pad cashew and pad Thai. My husband adds beef and I like chicken and they never skimp, and is always tender. Also, I order extra Thai peanut sauce to use during the week on steamed rice. It's so good. Thank you, Pinto, for feeding us well! read more

Always great food! This is my go to for Thai in Sandy nowadays. It just can't be beat! I've tried so many dishes and they are all so good. I'm so pleased that Pinto Thai in Sandy has weathered the pandemic. My husband and I almost always get the house curry for no reason other than we've tried most of the other things and this curry knocks our socks off. Curries are served with chili oil in a separate cup so you can adjust your own spice level. You needn't specify when you order. Staff are always very friendly and food is consistently ready on time. I also recommend the crab Rangoon. I don't believe this is a traditional Thai appetizer but I still appreciate it. Pro tip: they always include plastic utensils in the bag. If you don't need these, request they leave them out when you place your order. read more

Meeting up with my family at this food truck park for lunch at 11am - we actually waited 30 minutes for Pinto Thai Kitchen to open and I was so glad we did. I really enjoyed the Pad Thai with chicken. It has the flavors I am always looking for and the medium spice I asked for was perfectly balanced. This newer Thai food cart was a welcome surprise when we stopped by the Sandy pod on our way home from Bend! I ordered a chicken pad Thai even though I normally go for other noodle dishes and was so glad I did! Their pad Thai was authentic, delicious and abundant, not too saucy but not dry, fresh and flavorful noodles with the perfect harmony of crisp bean sprouts, peanuts, eggs and chicken. Need to know: 1) Pad kra prao is tremendously flavorful and aromatic. A-MAZE-ING! 2) House curry is rich and sweet with a perfect amount of peanut flavor/fragrance 3) DEFINITELY the best of Sandy's three Thai places (more on that below) When I moved to Sandy two years ago I was pleasantly surprised to find two Thai places. And I was even happier after my first order from Try My Thai. So happy that I didn't get around to trying Thai Home for awhile. Unfortunately, slowly but surely TryMy decreased in quality. Their chicken was always a bit dry. But it got drier. And drier. Sooooo dry last time I ordered a chicken dish. On top of that, the overall flavor decreased. The spice level (you specify it) was wildly inconsistent. And a couple times I've arrived home to find entrées that are half their normal size. As TryMy was slipping I started trying Thai Home more. For the life of me, I don't understand how Thai Home has the Yelp rating it does. I've been there about 10x. Not once could I call it anything better than mediocre. Nothing tastes fresh. The noodles are downright gross. Flavors are always on the bland side. The only good thing I can say about Thai Home is that the inside is attractive and cozy. And they've always been nice. So I was so happy when I first experienced Pinto Thai about a week ago. I went over to Sandlandia for Mt Hood Cheesesteaks. (Another place that gets my stamp of approval) But it was lateish and kinda snowing so they and most of the trucks were closed. Luckily Pinto was open. I got the Pad kra prao (with pork) this first time. Got home and INHALED it! So good. I immediately decided I needed to go back soon and get a more popular dish to make sure I could really endorse it. That's what I did tonight. I was a little disappointed they don't have a Panang curry. But the House curry is similar (at least to many US versions). So I ordered it, and it impressed. Like I said above, very rich, great levels of sweetness and peanut flavor. I would have liked a bit more sourness. I'm used to that with Panang. Plus it would have balanced the sweetness well. The peppers and carrots were wonderful. The level of basil was near perfection. (I'd like a little more, but I know I like basil more than most people.) Lastly, I have yet to mention the rice. While both entrées I've had were good enough that average rice could have been overlooked, their rice is WAY above average. I could honestly enjoy it all on its own. The curry I ordered tonight was a pretty large serving so I think I'll ask for an extra serving of rice whenever I order the curry in the future. And I know what I'm ordering next! They have a Pumpkin curry that I'm really excited about. Bottom line. Try THIS Thai. read more

As a local resident and loyal customer to another Thai place in town I was leery to try this cart, but I'm 100% glad I did. I placed call in order which was ready in 10 minutes! I got the pad kee mao and the house curry. Both delicious! and large portions...which means lots of leftovers. Yum! Nothing will replace my love for Thai Home in Sandy... but this truck comes very close! They are fast, friendly, clean and delicious! Their pineapple fried rice is exceptional! And their salad rolls are tender and flavorful. I am so happy we have another quality food establishment in Sandy-this town needs it! read more

Every Thai place has different definitions of mild/medium/spicy, so I appreciate having these different options. I would definitely come here again even if my experience wasn't 10/10 because it's one of the better food options in the area.
