No complaints for my first time. It wasn't busy so service was prompt. Everything was clean. Food was great.

Two lobster tails, a pound of shrimp, king crab leg, snow crab leg, and mussels as well as corn, eggs, potatoes and sausage for two hundred bucks. Honestly, felt like a good deal and easily fed a family of five. But the quality? Well, like I said, best crab boil I've ever had. You can pick different spice options. We did the crab boil mild and it had just enough spice for a good kick of flavor without overpowering the crab. The shrimp were delicious. The mussels were enormous and flavorful. Oh and the raw oysters? Humongous. Not super briny and if you don't like that taste you'll love these. These were seriously some of the biggest oysters I've ever seen. And the crab was just perfect. This was easily a hundred times better than the upscale bougie seafood place across the river in Louisville. Our server was super nice. The whole place is a vibe. I've been wanting to come here for a couple years and I'm so glad we finally stopped in.

Everyone is always so friendly and I feel like the wait for the food was never long. The food is fantastic. I tried the raw oysters on my first visit and that was when I realized how much I loved raw oysters. The portions were really big so I felt like we got our money's worth. The seafood boils are what they are famous for. Each bag I've ordered has been great. Again, portions are huge so you may want to share with a group of people. Side note: get their crab bread and dip it in the seafood boil sauce. It's the best combo;)

There were a couple people there already, but I was so impressed how everything was like brand new and inviting. Elaine and Daniela were so cheerful and accomadating. The food was SO good and the service was impeccable. I'm so glad my brother likes GB as much as I do. We visited just a couple weeks ago and agree GB is the best Chinese restaurant in Southern Indiana. I look forward to visiting again soon. My highlights on this visit were the salmon which is very tasty, crab Rangoon, spring rolls, stuffed mushrooms and chicken on a stick to name a few. Lastly, it wasn't long after my brother and I started at 1130 that MANY working people showed up and made for a good crowd. It wasn't too loud and the restaurant is noticeably CLEAN. Give Golden Blossom a try. Oh, my favorite dessert there is the fruit and little orange cakes.

They've added some new items, like spare ribs, stuffed clams, & crawfish. No longer did they serve fried chicken wings, instead offering "buffalo" wings soaking in some sauce. I skipped them. My wife loved the new frog legs, although a tad on the salty side. Hot & sour soup is still some of the best you'll find. I appreciated the wontons in a separate steamer so you can add it to your soup. Overall, the buffet was fresh. Tasty. And a nice variety. But they really need to fix the steam tables. Not one dish was actually hot unless it just came from the kitchen. Now, an observation. Initially, we were going to opt for home delivery. Good heavens. Our $35 order came to almost $60 with all the GH add ons. At Golden Blossom our 2 buffets came to just under $35 with tip (and a senior discount). EZ call.

Our waitstaff were all friendly and the general manager also visited our table to provide some historical information about the business and building. Excellent experience! The brunch buffet was delicious with fruit bar, hot dishes, dessert bar, and an omelet station. All items were well stocked, fresh, tasty, and appealing presentation. We were allowed to tour the building following our brunch, which was also an amazing and fortunate experience. Thank you is owed to all of the staff who enabled us to have such a wonderful visit.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
