    Sesame Chicken Dinner
    Brock W.

Tonight, we made the journey back to Thai Smile from Indy with our best friend who is moving to Florida. It's been 7 years since we've been here and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered my regular, the Sesame Chicken. Still tastes the same as I remember it and the portions are still huge. My husband had his favorite, the Pineapple Tangerine Chicken, which was also as delicious as we remember. I'm a bit sad they don't come around with the giant cauldrons of white rice like they used to, but they did offer more rice if we needed it. The restaurant looks the same as it did years ago, with the same food and same atmosphere. It's a Muncie staple that I hope stays around forever.

Great atmosphere, great staff, and amazing food! Was in town for a conference and went with my group and we were talking about it all week.

    Pad Kee Mao Lunch

I'm a Thai food lover, eat it all the time (from Boston) I found this place on Yelp while I was in town so I thought I'd check it out & it did not disappoint. Probably one of the best Drunken Noodles I've ever had & I'm not being dramatic. Piping hot, super flavorful (loved the sauce) super quick service.. a little too quick as I felt rushed. That's the reason for the 4 stars. However, I did show up around 1:25pm for lunch and they closed at 2pm so I wasn't upset about it as I understood.

The Pad Thai, chicken stuffed shrimp, and Thai iced tea are fantastic. Having said that, I went in to pickup my order and was ignored for 5 minutes. Multiple staff walked within inches and never even glanced in my direction. I noticed the window pickup, so I got in my car and went through the drive through. I got to the window at the time I was told my order would be ready. It was not. I was told to park and it would be brought out. 20 minutes later nobody came out. I went through the window again and it was sitting there. All this to say the food was really good.

a plate of food with rice and vegetables

The food is amazing, and the service is fabulous. They get your order, then bring out the soup for that day, and within minutes, your entrie comes out hot and ready to eat. I got the Kua Gui. It is noodles with egg and some veggies. It is not that spicy if spicy at all and is a nice safe option if you aren't a spice person.

Chicken rice soup and lettuce wrap [appetizer ordered as a meal]

The dinning room is finally open!!! And their service is FAST. Which always has me wondering freshness. This isn't my favorite for Thai food, but it was convenient. We ordered an order of spring rolls. There was no fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce on the menu--not sure if this is a covid shortage or what. But I found that unusual for Thai places. The chicken pad thai was pretty simple-although it had no vegetables and seemed bland in comparison to past experiences. They also never asked to what spice we would like it prepared. Also, unusual for thai. It was a bigger portion size. The chicken soup was sweet and simple. It felt good on a sore throat for sure. The lettuce wrap was a "self-assembly" and wasn't easy to eat without a mess. The meat inside was good and the soup and wrap was filling. The service felt rushed. We were in, and out within 40 minutes. The server was super attentive and we didn't wait long for anything. This isn't the best place in Muncie for Thai but it is convenient for BSU students and events as its right near campus.

    Soup

I had never been here but it was a suggestion while with coworkers. The restaurant was very dark and older. I ordered water with lemon which they don't carry lemon. The soup I had was decent, but I could definitely taste cinnamon in it which was an unusual flavor profile for soup. The Garlic Chicken had a lot of garlic flavor, it could have been overpowering for some. It would be an acquired taste I'd say to enjoy this regularly.

I love this place! The food is always great, is affordable, and is just always a great meal. My favorite thing is the pad thai because I love the peanut sauce. They have a great online ordering system and a drive through window to pick up a COVID friendly meal too! I would definitely recommend this place!

We've been going to Thai Sme 2 for years whenever we're in the Muncie area. Portions are great. We have never had a bad experience.

Food was tasty, staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable. Didn't expect Yummy Thai in Muncie.

Best Thai Food in Muncie. Everything I have gotten from Thai Smile has been amazing. The Masman curry is my favorite.

In town on family business, for a couple of days, I was looking for someplace interesting for…read moredinner on a Wednesday evening. It had been before the pandemic since my last time in Indianapolis and much has changed on the city's dining and drinking landscape. Following a recommendation from a bartender at Sundry & Vice, I made my way to BODHI. I didn't have reservations, which I'd strongly recommend, since the place was packed on Wednesday night before 6PM. Fortunately, I was able to snag a seat at the bar, which was ideal since I was dining solo. Upon scanning the hip, high-energy, yet petite dining room, I had a sense of deja vu about it before realizing that I had been in this space before back when it was Black Market. I started off with a cocktail from Bodhi's intriguing and expansive drink list, a 7 Realms of Happiness, made with Old Hamer Bourbon, Faccia Brutto Centerbe, Cappelletti amaro, saffron honey, and lemon. My thought was that it's their twist on a classic Whiskey Smash. It was bittersweet, yet balanced, and simply a delight. As for the food, BODHI's menu is concise hitting the most of the Thai food usual suspects. I had the Papaya Salad and the Shrimp Green Curry. The papaya salad came out first. I was pleasantly surprised by its plating, looking much more like an elaborate entree with its cashews, watermelon radish, and chicharrones than the humble side salad atop a leaf of lettuce or cabbage that I've usually received at virtually every Thai restaurant I've ever been. It was just a pretty plate as it tasted even better than it looked. It was fresh and flavorful as those flavors popped from the perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, spicy, and funky. It was the best rendition of a papaya salad that I've tasted. My bowl of curry was no less successful in balancing those diverse Thai flavor profiles. Unlike some/many other curries I've had where it seems like a bowl full of sauce with bits and pieces of protein or vegetables, Bodhi's rendition achieved the perfect "solids to sauce" ratio. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the curry itself was bold and bright on my tongue. It was a delicious spoonful. I loved it! For "dessert", I had a second cocktail, the Garnet, a booze-forward whisky drink made with Mars Iwai Tradition, Pinhook Rye, Akashi Ume Plum whisky, Veda Mushroom Liqueur, Balsamic Vermouth, celery & orange bitters, and topped with a Moon Smoke Bubble. It was very unique, tasty and satisfying, if not a bit difficult to describe. I would maybe compare it to an Asian-influenced Vieux Carre and I thought it was excellent. Service from Carli, the bartender, was stellar throughout my night as she was friendly, helpful and exceedingly outstanding in making my drinks. A definite rock star! BODHI was outstanding. I'm not sure how to best describe the place. Was it as an amazing Thai restaurant that also does incredible cocktails or an amazing cocktail bar that also does killer Thai food? Regardless, I could not have enjoyed my experience more. If/when I'm back in Indy, BODHI is at the top of my list for a visit!
