This place has changed from the last time we were there. I still got the pad see ewe because it is my favorite dish. This time was a disappointment though. The portion size was smaller and it had an overwhelming bitter taste. I noticed that there was an overly large amount of kale stems, which is what made the entire dish bitter tasting. I did not recall this from previous visits to this restaurant. I mentioned something to our waitress and she told me "it's always been made with kale." I would have recalled it if it was. The bitterness was so much so that I couldn't even eat half the dish. With the price still being at around $15, I would have expected at least 50% more on my plate but it seems like they have become a part of "shrink-flation." My husband got his pad Thai and he even said that the taste was different and was not impressed this visit either. Not sure if we will be back or not because of the overall taste and value for the price we paid. Just overall disappointed because we know they can do better. read more

This is a must visit when in Muncie! I ordered a spicy pork salad that was so flavorful and fresh and a new-to-me dish. Prices are affordable and service was attentive. It is a fairly small and casual spot but perfect for lunch. Cozy, hole in the wall atmosphere. Staff was friendly, but as the night went on the service declined. The food was good, but not the best Thai that I have had in the area. The portions do not equal the price in my opinion. And the vegetable egg rolls were 3x the size of the chicken ones, which was good for me but not so great for my partner who ordered the chicken. My partners entrees (he got 2) came out way before mine, and no one gave me a heads up like "we're waiting on ____", "it's coming right out" etc. I also wasn't pleased with the spice. Just to start, fantastic place, best Thai food I have ever had. That being said, I had lunch with a co-worker here today and while it has always been 5/5, today they did not cook the noodles enough and they were stiff. Same spices I love, same ingredients I love, only thing I was disappointed in was how long they cooked the noodles. It was terrible, I only ate 25% of my meal, but this was one small screw up, and I have been here more than 10 times and this is the first time they have ever screwed anything up. Please, you are the best, hands down, just fully cook the noodles! Came in around 7:30p, no wait and was seated very quickly. Ordered Pad Si Ew and the fried tofu. As other reviewer saids, the place is more on the small side and there weren't many tables so that's expected. Fried tofu came up first and the appetizer came with a dipping sauce that tastes interesting, though not in a good way (tasted like a sweet/soy sauce blend). After the not too desirable appetizer, I was really looking forward to Pad Si Ew that other reviewers raved. However, the taste of the Pad Si Ew really lacking depth as it just taste like the chef just dumped soy sauce onto the stir fry flat noodle and veggie and stir fry them together. The portion is also fairly small so I am not sure it's worth the $14.99 price tag that they are charging for the plate of food and $6.99 for the tofu. I am not sure if this is an off night for them but I walked away a bit disappointed. read more

My absolute favorite place to eat, my favorite things to order are the green curry or the adam noodle. Everything on the menu is amazing, I could eat something from here every day and never get tired of it. Definitely recommend dining in, if you do at lunch it comes with a bowl of ginger soup and it's one of the most delicious soups I've ever had. Getting carry out is still amazing quality food, I frequently get door dash delivery from here and its always so fresh still, but I do prefer to dine in and eat right when the food is ready. read more

I admit, I was a little concerned since there was a plumber's van parked out back. I heard him say, "It is completely full and will need to be pumped out". I don't know what "it" was, but upon entering the front door everything seemed to be okay. Floors were clean and no bad smells. Right after this restaurant opened it was hugely popular. (Like any new restaurant is in Muncie, Indiana). They did not take reservations. They would take your phone number and call you when they had a table ready and it was your turn. After all this time, I got to thinking, "Ya know. I'll be they aren't going to call". I mean it's been years! LOL So we tried it for the first time. We were there for lunch. It was just okay. The waitress was nice and attentive. The food was just so-so, and not much of it. For lunch I got a cup of chicken curry which was more like a soup on consistency. About a third of cup of jasmine rice which was strangely starchy and stuck together. Not flaky at all. And you got a miniature spring? Type roll without much taste if it had not been for the sauce. So would I refuse to go there? No. Would I choose to go there? Probably not. I think I will just wait for that phone call. read more

Our service was great and the food was amazing!! I highly recommend the Thai Iced Coffee! My boyfriend had the Thai Iced Tea - it too was very good. I ordered the Pad Thai mild with extra fried tofu. Man this dish was so good. I realize that Pad Thai is probably the equivalent of ordering chicken strips but I love it and I won't apologize for it!! And Tuppee Tong's was very good. My boyfriend ordered the Garlic Stir-fry mild with chicken. I loved that they allowed him to swap the cauliflower for broccoli very easily. Stopped in for lunch with my wife. We both had the lunch special. Comes with ginger soup very good, and a vegetable egg roll very good. The lunch special consists of a bowl soup with my choice chicken and vegetable combo of choice and choice of heat thai hot for me. Bowl was stuffed full of fresh ingredients. It was thai hot as ordered. I personally will not order it again I just prefer more of a normal entree vs the soup style. It was good, white rice is served with it. After a long, hard, physically and emotionally draining day my wife and I treated ourselves to dinner at Tuppee Tong Thai Restaurant. The friendly staff greeted us warmly and seated us in the back dining room, an intimate space with interesting Thai-themed paintings on the wall. Service was quick, accurate, friendly, and attentive without being disruptive to our conversation. The Crab Rangoon was terrific--perfectly crispy without being the slightest bit greasy, with a creamy and unctuous filling, and delicious sweet chili sauce. They didn't last long. The Thai Iced Tea was a delicate blend of spice, milk, and black tea, reminiscent of a gentle iced chai latte. It helped balance out the heat of the main course. Speaking of entrees, we both had a different curry; my wife's Massaman with extra chicken disappeared before I could finish the very last morsel of my Yellow with beef! The pineapple and tomatoes provided a light acidic note to the coconut milk sauce. I really enjoyed the tingle of the mild heat; they were accommodating to this old guy whose palate doesn't do highly spicy very well any more. (Shoutout to our server, Katy, for a friendly chat about flavor combinations while she was clearing the table for dessert!) Oh, dessert! I was excited that they had Mangoes with Sticky Rice on the menu. It is one of my all-time favorite dishes, simple in concept but surprisingly difficult to execute well. They did not disappoint! The mango was perfectly ripe and pleasantly chilled; the rice was deliciously glutinous and warm. The coconut milk sauce was delicately sweetened then topped with nicely toasted sesame seeds. This dish, as served, was wonderful--greater than the sum of its parts in a magical blend of sensations: cold/hot, sweet/tangy, silky/nutty! I liked it. A lot. I'm a happy camper! The family was hungry for something different so we ordered delivery tonight. Glad we did! We are a family of 4 and each of us tried something different ( Wife and daughter ordered the same main course.) I ordered the Pad Kra Pao Beef & Chicken Thai Hot, Loved it, extra spicy with beautifully cut vegetables ( thin but crispy ) and Tom Yum Soup, spicy with a great flavor. I was extremely happy with my choice! My wife & daughter ordered the Adam Noodle no spice, both of them enjoyed it but wasn't crazy about the overall flavor. My boy ordered the Khao Pad and thought it was good, he also got Keiw Tod ( Crab Rangoon ) it was ok but could use a little more flavor & filling but overall OK. We also ordered the Chicken Egg Roll, only lasted 30 seconds, small and delicious! The main reason for the 4 star is the Kiew Nam ( dumpling soup of some sort ) we ordered the large because we thought it sounded delicious, to be honest the flavor was dull at best, not sure if it was a mistake but it had no real flavor & I know Thai usually has 4-5 different flavors during a bite. But this definitely didn't ruin our meal! We definitely will be back and try different menu items. Thanks for the Great dinner! Got some chicken egg rolls recently. $4 for two incredibly tiny skinny rolls that were wrapped so tight they couldn't have had anything inside. I really couldn't tell what filling they had. I had to spit out hard chunks of wrapper. Seriously bothered here - $4 is a ridiculous price for those egg rolls. What a rip off. How in good conscience can you make those (did they even have 1/8 tsp of "filling"?) and feel okay serving them and charging $4 for them? read more

Muncie is truly lucky to have such an authentic Thai restaurant in town. Tuppee Tong blows other Thai restaurants out of the water, including restaurants in Indianapolis & Bloomington & beyond. This was easily Thai food comparable to what I had in Phuket and Bangkok. You will wait longer for your order to be prepared, but I promise, it's worth it. The Tom Yum was sour and spicy with tons of fresh veggies and tender chicken. Easily the best soup I've had. Cups and bowls available. The Green Curry was rich, full of eggplant, bell pepper, and beef. The flavors were complex and satisfying. I stopped ordering this in years past because so many places water it down and load it up with sugar. Not Tuppee Tong! This was phenomenal and obviously full of fresh ingredients. I'm so excited this place exists. Please, pass on Thai Smile and the other "Asian" restaurants in Muncie. Here, food is made to order and it's made right. read more

Really nice place. Food tastes great and has a good range of spice levels that are pretty accurate. I also quite enjoy their fresh rolls. Only knock is that all 3 times I've eaten there the food has been slow. In person this isn't a huge problem for me, but their takeout estimates need to be lengthened to account for that. read more

My go-to place for Thai takeout! Met some friends for a Monday lunch at noon, and we were seated immediately. The dining area is bright and cozy, and the staff was friendly and efficient, helping push some tables together for us. This was my first time eating inside, I've had fabulous takeout multiple times before, getting something new each time. We all ordered the lunch special, which is a smaller portion of regular menu items, a spring roll, and ginger soup for $9-12 depending on the protein. I ordered the Jungle Curry with chicken (hot spice level), and was very pleased. I like moderately spicy food and am glad I sprung for hot instead of medium, as it had a good kick but was not overwhelming. Half of our party was full with the entire lunch portion, while the other half took leftovers home. There was a styrofoam option and reusable container option for leftovers, which I think is a nice touch! read more

I don't know how this place has such good reviews, because it isn't good Thai food. It's not inedible, but we were pretty disappointed. We ordered three dishes & none of them looked or tasted particularly fresh. All three dishes were ordered at a hot spice level and arrived at the table tasting like there was no spice added. We asked for extra spice (like you can at virtually any Thai restaurant), and received some very old- tasting chili oil. The restaurant tried to charge us $1 each for the extra chili oil, which we complained about and they eventually removed from our bill. All in all, not a great experience. read more
