My mother-in-law is pure Vietnamese so I'm very familiar with their food and flavor. I just moved here from San Diego where there's tons of vietnamese restaurant like in every corner. So far so good . I had eaten here when they first opened but it was a very limited menu then . They've expanded it quite a bit . I ordered the Mongolian beef and my husband ordered a combo that includes a pork chop chicken wings and an egg roll . He's allergic to sea food and usually the egg rolls contain both pork and shrimp even with a language barrier ( minimal) he was able to get the vegetarian egg roll with his meal . The portions don't look large but I couldn't finish mine so I guess they are large enough . I'm very interested in trying more items so we will return . If you're frighten about the food being too spicy , mine had a hint of heat nothing over a 1 and my husbands was well seasoned but with no heat at all . It's worth a try read more

While waiting on the main course shared some fried egg rolls & spring rolls. I'd def recommend the fried egg rolls, fixed perfectly great crunch and nice flavor. They are a bit small so if you're really hungry get the full order of 4. The spring rolls were small as well and mainly filled with rice noodles so a bit bland for my preferences and I didn't care for the peanut sauce flavor that accompanied that. Had the chkn and veggie rice dish, came out piping hot and was good, had plenty of baby bok choy, broccoli, carrots, cabbage and chicken and a well portioned side of rice. My friend got the curry soup which had an excellent flavor with a nice portion of very tender chicken. Although this is a small place and I'd definitely say the interior needs redone, it's worth stopping in to enjoy their food and excellent service! I hate to write this review, because if people read it they will want to go there and there goes the easy seating! Okay, for starters the staff is very attentive. They work hard to make the environment as clean as possible as soon as customers leave the table. The wait staff are brothers, and very good at their job. Their mother does the cooking, and I like to make sure that I let them know their mother did an excellent job once again, when I eat there. Okay, now I LOVE their veggie spring rolls! My wife and I always get a full order and she eats the shrimp ones and I eat the veggie ones. We eat there at least weekly and so if I make a pickup order all I do is walk in the door, now mind there could be 3 take out orders ready to go, and they know exactly which order is mine. Who would have guessed that I could find great Pho in Kokomo, Indiana! At first it was difficult to find this place because Google Maps took me in a different direction. The parking lot is a bit smaller than I would have expected it to be. Luckily, the restaurant was not extremely busy when I arrived. As I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles from the waiter! Feeling welcomed is a huge plus to me. The items on the menu are extremely affordable! I ordered Vietnamese Fried Egg Roll ( half order), Well done Flank & Lean Brisket Pho, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Guess how much the total bill was?! Only $14.24! Yes, you read right, $14. I was amazed on the prices at this restaurant and even more amazed by the quality of the food. I did not give this place 5 stars because it lacked a good portion of the Brisket and the noodles was very difficult to pick up with chopsticks and fork. I hadn't been in Kokomo in a while so I checked Yelp to see what was new. Immediately knew this was going to be dinner. A small restaurant off the beaten path ( not by much ) There were three people eating at a table outside and nobody inside. I sat at a four top to have room and soon felt bad about my decision as two families came in right after I ordered both with 8 or more people and the small restaurant was almost full. I ordered a large bowl of Pho with beef and a small order of spring rolls. My fellow yelpers were spot on. This place is a gem. The spring rolls were light and refreshing, served with a peanut dipping sauce. The steaming bowl of Pho soon followed with a side dish of sprouts, jalapenos and sprigs of fresh basil. I tasted the broth before any add ins. and was rewarded with a delightful rich beefy flavor. I added some of the veggies and went to work. The rice noodles were in a bit of a know but once loosened up I found them to be cooked perfectly. Next game the garlic chilis on the table and some Hoisin. This hole in the wall restaurant can be found on 17th St behind the mall--disregard the Google maps directions which will lead nowhere. It is definitely worth a try for several reasons. One is that it is very reasonably priced, with all entrees being under $10. Two is that the food is quite delicious. Having said that, the restaurant is not upscale and doesn't offer the greatest service. It is lightly staffed and is not nearly as quick as most similar Vietnamese establishments. I tried my usual at restaurants, the spicy Bun Bo Hue. It was very tasty, although for reasons I cannot explain, not really the best ever for me. It probably needed to be spicier and to have more noodles. It was quite delicious, with flank, garlic spam, tendon, and the usual vegetables. My less adventurous son had a rice dish, which he enjoyed, while the egg roll appetizer was competent if unremarkable. The smell of the Phó hits you as soon as you open the door and it smells GOOD. It's a small place with less parking. We came on their first Friday dinner service and it was packed with a line to the door even though it was raining. I waited a while to be seated and the waiters were working their tails off to just keep up. The Phó itself is excellent. I added some chili paste and sriacha. It's not spicy by default. The veggie rolls were a great light appetizer. We'll see how service improves as they hit their stride and work out the kinks, but the food itself is great right now.
