I was craving sushi and have yet to try a place out here in the Boro. Lemongrass was on my Yelp list and happens to be close to where I live so my family and I decided to try it out. I've seen others giving them raving reviews so that was a good sign. Keep in mind they do close during the mid part of the day so check their hours before going! We arrived 11 minutes after opening for their dinner crowd and the place was already half full. Definitely a sign that they are popular in the area. My husband and I each ordered Thai tea for drinks and their crab Rangoon for appetizer. Highly HIGHLY recommend both. The tea was just the way I like it, very sweet. And the crab Rangoon - honestly I could eat an order myself. Which I will probably do next time! For our dinner, my husband got the Sex on the beach roll and the Do Re Me roll. I tried the JB roll and Dynamite roll. Both of us enjoyed our picks. They definitely have a bunch of options for both Japanese cuisine and Thai. We will be back to try their Thai menu next! Thai spice levels are 1-5 for the Thai menu. We ordered the wonton soup and gyoza for an app. Both were delicious. The soup is the best wonton soup I've ever eaten. For the entrée, we ordered the combination, fried rice and the beef drunken noodles on a spice level five. Neither entree disappointed! Spice levels was on point and the portions were large. It's clean. I've eaten there a few times. The food is hit or miss. I've had really good food and not so good. I've gotten to go food. Don't go there. It's never good. Soggy, plain. I don't recommend. I give a restaurant three bad tries. And won't go there again. Last nite was number 3. Sat down. Not busy. Got sushi it was good and a side of fried rice. It didn't look like fried rice. It was white rice with a few vegetables. So bland. Awful. By the time the waiter finally came around I was done eating. I had taken two bites just to make sure it wasn't me. The food was awesome. It was the perfect amount of spice and sweet I was craving. I definitely liked the Tom Yum Goong soup, it could've used a bit more protein, but overall I liked it! My family and I have been dinning at Lemograss for the past five years. The last two times my food has been awful. Shrimp pad se ew, the shrimp are smaller but the problem was the wide rice noodles, they were hard and sticky. I thought maybe that was just a bad day for the chefs. We went back yesterday for dinner. I ordered Ginger scallops stir fry, the scallops were sliced into making one scallop into three thin pieces. Not only that, they were chewy and overcooked because they were so thin. Just why, the dish is $18.00 no need to turn one scalop into three and think your fooling people. The veg were also cut so large they can't cook in a wok so they virtually stay raw. The stir fry sauce was also watery. Overall, I wasted my money I will not be back. If an establishment is going to go to this extreme to make extra profit, I will not partake. read more

We come here frequently and today we tried something different. Got the beef pho, yakuzo roll and pad thai. The food was good, plenty of flavor and for the portion to price ratio is very good. You will leave full for sure and maybe even with left overs. Service is good and generally quick. Everything we have had here has been good and the tolls are big so keep that in mind. Food allergies need to be taken more seriously. We ordered takeout got home and saw that my "gluten free" roll was breaded. We called to find out if the breading was gluten free and they said yes. We were still skeptical and asked for a confirmation from the cook and it was not gluten free after all. I really liked it! Here is my opinion on the food, service and ambiance. Menu offerings were typical of what I have seen in Asian restaurants. One item in particular caught my eye - "Jungle Curry". I went for it. I'm glad it did. Separating it from other curry dishes is that it is made without coconut, and that was a nice flavor profile. Service was super attentive, maybe too much so. Although I noticed they recently updated their menus, I think I would prefer their menus to be consolidated into several pages instead of two big pages. The shumai was definitely not fresh and I would not recommend it. The spring rolls were good and fresh. The sushi were good in taste and presentation - better than average compared to other Asian fusion restaurants. The larb gai was seasoned well and balanced. The yum talay salad was also a nice salad and I recommend it if you're looking for a flavorful salad with lots of seafood. The lemongrass lunch special was very disappointing. The dish was heavily drenched in sauce which explains why the pork and vegetables tasted boiled and not stir fried. Service was good. I thought price was reasonable. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in Murfreesboro! The only complaint I've is it's on the other side of Murfreesboro and it's far from me lol. I do drive all the way there tho! Definitely recommend if you are looking for some real good sushi! They have a lot of variations and I haven't gotten on that I didn't like! I've never been Thai person, but my wife loves Thai and since finding Lemongrass I have found Thai to be pretty good. Moreover, the sushi is always excellent, and you I can't say enough about their rice. You would think white rice is white rice, but you gain a different respect for it when you visit this restaurant. Lemongrass was great! I've been told this is a yummy sushi spot and was long overdue, and so glad we made it out there. My husband and I split some chilled plum sake, which I had never had before! It was good--light and refreshing. For an app, we got crab rangoon and it was really tasty! I'd vote it up there with Rock n Roll sushi's rangoons (we are always on the lookout for the best), and it had a unique garlicky taste with a crunchy exterior. We got miso soup and that was also good, and for our main we got red tuna shashimi, raw Yakuza roll, and cooked dancing eel roll. Both rolls were really tasty. Service was fast and attentive. One of my favorite Asian restaurants, the food and service are great....ambience is good for groups and family dinners.

Ate here before. It was pretty good. Came back...every dish seemed loaded with sugar. Had tom kha soup - tasted like dessert. Sushi roles - overpowered by eel sauce and some other sweets. Lastly, had Penang curry, had one bite - had to call it quits for fear of getting diabetes at a single sitting. Sad that good food can be drown out by so much sugar. Someone at the restaurant watch the "don't drown your food" videos.... May come back... if we do we are doing sushi and sashimi. All this said, sadly, this is an actual bright spot in the culinary dessert that we call Murfreesboro. read more

This was our second try at Lemongrass. We got a rainbow roll, a salmon and yellow tail roll, and pad see ew. The salmon/yellow tail was decent. The rainbow was the worst I've had from anywhere. We got a spicy level 3/5 for pad see ew, but spicy was really the main discernible flavor. I don't think I'll be returning for a third round. read more

I was very skeptical about this place just because I've never had Thai food before. It was a new type of experience but I can say I definitely enjoyed the food. Nothing that absolutely blew us away but it was very good food. We got a lot off the menu and also got the Thai tea which was very good as well. Would love to go back and try more off the menu. It's been awhile since I've returned. This weekend I got the drunken noodles with fried tofu, red curry with chicken, and a Thai tea. Everything was excellent except the red curry. It may honestly be my preference but I like curry with more coconut milk so that it's creamier. If I'm back here in the future, I'd skip the curry dishes. For Thai curry, I would rather drive to Nashville to eat at either Eastern Peak or Thai Papaya. Otherwise, service was great and I can't complain about anything else. read more
