Best Asian food in town and by far the best service! I've been to Thai smiles three times now and have to say that it offers the best flavor and variety of Asian dishes of any restaurant in Waycross. I have ordered their Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, and their Chicken Green Curry. All of which were good. With that said I have had better Thai which was more full in flavor, but of all the restaurants that offer Asian dishes Thai smiles is by far my favorite. The service is excellent. My boyfriend and I drove down from Atlanta with some friends and decided to give Thai Smile a shot for lunch before starting our camping weekend at Laura Walker State Park. We were VERY pleasantly surprised by not only the excellent service from the owner (he greeted us as soon as we walked in and let us know he was happy see new faces and meet us), but also the delicious food! The guys in our group each had an ice cold Singha, which I lovingly remembered having in Thailand, so that started things out on a great note. Between the six of us, we had 3 bento boxes and 3 different chicken curries (massaman, yellow, and green). Nothing we had was short of delicious and the portions were generous enough that we all left stuffed! I've been to Thai Smiles twice and both times were good. The Tom Yum soup with vegetables is probably my favorite thing here. The soup is so delicious and has a ton of veggies, so a healthy option for vegans or vegetarians. I've also had the red vegetable curry. I enjoyed that very much. The sauce was very flavorful, and the and portion was nice. My only complaint would probably be that the sauce is a little thin. Other than that, I've tried the drunken noodles. It's not my favorite dish, but it was still delicious. The Thai tea there is a little too sweet for me. I've had better, but for $2 it's good enough. The inside was mostly clean, but I did see a little dead fly on my menu. The waitresses were nice and the food came out quick. I enjoyed eating here and would do so again. read more

This is a hidden gem. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had, the service was great as well. We ordered soup, sushi, and the Bangkok duck entree - best duck I've ever had hands down, the meat was full of flavor and fall off the bone tender. I ordered it with a side of pineapple rice which I HIGHLY recommend. My husband and I travelled from Rincon, GA to Waycross, GA to see the lights at the Okefenokee Swamp Park. Before heading home, we decided to to drop in Thai Smile for a bite to eat. The food was excellent. The menu offered a variety of choices. The BEST part of the meal, however, was Samantha! She never missed a beat. Her service was prompt, and super friendly. When I looked at the 5 stars I got SO excited... I was passing through and decided with a friend to wing this into a fun experience and review a small town Thai. My hopes were unfortunately high. I was a little let down. My coconut soup had a solid 1/8th inch deep layer of spicy chili oil on top. Ugh. No thank you. Though I give it points for having fresh veggies in it; the shrimp tasted awful. Next please. My tuna avocado roll came next. How utterly disappointing but not unexpected. Avocado was still rock solid and the tuna was warmer than room temp and had a taste to it I couldn't at all identify or enjoy. Next please. The sushi chef approached my table with the most beautiful artwork. I thought I'd been uprooted and put in a different restaurant. My special roll -- the Edison? I think it was called-- wow. Perfect balance of rice to meat content, the avocado was amazing and fresh. The center was a warm and smooth crab salad to top your bite and give it this marvelous kick of texture and deliciousness you couldn't get if it were assembled together. I ate the entire thing... and wanted another. So this COULD have been a 5 star, had I only ordered the special roll. But... to each their own. read more

This place is GREAT. We are from Atlanta, live in Macon, and we ate here with friends from Auburn - all of us said that the sushi here was phenomenal, better than anywhere in auburn or Macon. Pictured is the Red Curry dish. It's my new favorite curry dish of any restaurant. I wish I lived closer. Also pictured is the Thai iced tea. Authentic Thai in Waycross, GA! A wonderful find. I loved the curry puffs appetizer. I've never had them before and it was like a curry chicken pot pie in a light pastry with a perfect dipping sauce to give it that added kick. The main dish was spiced perfectly with lime and some heat. You can pick spiciness from 1-5, and I went with a 3.5. The mango sticky rice with coconut milk is one of the best I've had. It was pure pleasure gracing my taste buds. I worry about gems like this going out of business before people discover them. I go here whenever in Waycross and it's never busy, just a few customers. I ate in the first time and ordered to go this time, so hopefully the to go orders are keeping them in business. read more

Great place to eat! I've been here a few times and was never disappointed in the quality of the food. The only negative is their control of the spice level. Sometimes a level 4 is as mild as a glass of milk, sometimes it is just right, and sometimes it is a level 10 even though the scale is 1-5. Food = A Service = A Parking = A Control of spice levels = B- Don't let my comments on the spice level steer you away from the quality of the meal. I just like my food with some good heat, not burning though. Go with a level 3 to be safe if you like some kick. You can always ask for a side of spice to bring it up a little more. This place was extremely quiet, dim lighting, and a soft spoken waitress. The food was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy eating Asian food but I love it and he said he would come back! They even allowed me to substitute the California roll and crab ragoon for yum yum's for $3 in my bento box! In Waycross for business, our group was looking for a place to eat. Being somewhat familiar with Thai food, I suggested Thai Smile, because of the earlier reviews I had read. Knowing that sometimes, the restaurant falls short of living up to expectations, I'm pleased to say, it was one of my best dining experiences. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner in a very enthusiastic manor. He genuinely seemed to be happy to see us. Was this because it's Waycross and Thai food isn't high on the the locals list of places to go to spend their hard earned dollar? I didn't think so. The prices were also very reasonable. After being seated, our waiter was giving us menus and taking our drink orders. The usual suspects in soda, beer and wine with a few Asian style beers as well. There were four of us this evening, ordering a Pad Thai, a Basil Salmon, a Flying Tiger and I had the Drunken Noodles. I like my food spicy and was talking with the waiter about levels. Be careful, the spice levels range from one to six and they are fairly accurate. If you order a six, be prepared for some heat. The food was served and everyone was truly impressed with the plating and more importantly, the taste and flavor. After dinner, we all shared a Banana Tempura. A great way to finish our meals. The service and food were both very good. You will not be disappointed. When I find myself back in Waycross, I will return to this restaurant. read more

Service was great, we way over ordered, Crab Rangoon was cooked perfectly, Froed Wontons were homemade, both served with excellent sweet chili sauce. Sushi was good, nothing spectacular. Drunken Noodles with Shrimp was perfect, order the level of spice you want. Garlic with Black Pepper and Steak was awesome.
