Wow! This has to be the BEST chicken satay I have ever had! I needed a quick bite of protein and, if I'm being honest, wanted a treat of plain white Thai sticky rice as well. The sticky rice was as good as I imagined, but the satay was a fabulously pleasant surprise. Not only was the chicken tender, it was a generous potion of breast meat on each of the four sticks. The accompanying peanut sauce was also good and not too sweet. This was a spur of the moment choice while I was in the area, so I didn't order until I walked in. The lady who took my order and payment was very nice and had a warm, caring smile. This Wednesday night there was a steady stream of pickup orders, walk-in to-go orders, like me, and customers dining in. I only waited about 15mins and received a discount for paying cash. While waiting, I admired the low light, intimate setting with plenty of room for couples or groups. The decor was festive for the holidays, but also beautiful Thai touches. A very nice space. Other dishes coming from the kitchen to the dining room also looked delicious and I would love to come back when visiting this area again. Cheers! "CC"

Mango sticky rice

Hubby & I have done dinner take out from here so when an opportunity came up to meet friends at the restaurant I jumped at the chance to check it out. So came for lunch to meet with a few friends. Good menu options but I settled for the lunch deal (spicy basil chicken which came with an egg roll, potsticker, soup and pickled cucumber salad). I thought my spicy chicken basil dish could've used more basil but I was hungry and it was good enough to keep eatting. The mango sticky rice for dessert is always a good end to a meal. Parking was easy since it was early enough but the lot is small and can be challenging. Staff is friendly. Solid 3.5 stars.

Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls

TL;DR: Solid Thai spot with a chill vibe, friendly staff, and plenty of space. Food was good and it's a nice place to eat with family. ----------- I came here with my family of five on a Saturday around lunchtime, and it was pretty empty which honestly made the experience really relaxing. It's pretty close to CSUSM. We got seated right away and didn't feel rushed at all. The staff were super friendly and checked in just the right amount. We ordered a few appetizers and entrees to share. I thought the food was solid overall. Everything came out quickly and had good flavor. It wasn't anything too wild or overly fancy. There's a lot of seating and the inside has this quirky, kind of mismatched charm. It felt casual and welcoming. I'd come back again if I just wanted something pretty good and fast.

Pad Thai with tofu

Came here around 5pm for dinner with friends and it was pretty empty - the dinner rush came about an hour later. It's a smaller restaurant, but it looks like a lot of folks would come in for takeout. I ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu and a Thai Tea with Boba. My food was delicious - the Pad Thai hit all of the notes; I will say that I ordered it at a spicy 7, and it was still mild for my taste so just note that if you're looking for some more kick to your plate. The Thai Tea was absolutely huge - think one of those extra large soda cups from a fast food restaurant. Definitely consider sharing. I would just get the Thai tea by itself next time, as the boba pearls did not add much to the experience. Our experience here was lovely, and I would definitely return to try other options on the menu if I were in town.

Prik King Green Bean with beef - lots of spicy red sauce

We are frequent customers here and were very disappointed with our recent takeout order. The main issue was the spice level. Our receipt clearly listed "not spicy" and "mild" for multiple dishes, yet most came out far spicier than requested. We had to add sugar just to tone down the spice level, which shouldn't be necessary when spice preferences are clearly stated. Our 91-year-old mom was craving Thai food and cannot have spicy food, which made this especially disappointing. The dishes visibly contained red pepper flakes and chili-heavy sauce, directly contradicting our order. We understand that it was Christmas Day and the restaurant was very busy, and we appreciate the staff working on a holiday. That said, honoring clearly requested spice levels--especially for customers who cannot tolerate heat--is essential. We hope this feedback is taken in the spirit intended, as we would like to continue ordering here. Lastly, while we arrived on time for pickup, the order was repeatedly delayed and we ended up waiting about 20 additional minutes.

Great food and great service!!! Good price and yum yum!! Food is little sweet for me but it's still good. Lots of parking spaces available.

Wanted some Thai food for lunch and passed by this place so dropped in. Looks like there's a side entrance to apartment buildings but there is a small free parking lot for patrons. There are other businesses in the plaza. Sign says no public restrooms but there are restrooms for customers. Small cozy place with a handful of tables. There was no wait on a Sunday for lunch. Food comes out pretty fast. Tried the green curry (asked zero spice but still came out with a kick), pad see ew chicken and sweet and sour pork. Portion sizes are small to decent, pad see ew didn't have a lot of noodles. For proteins, there are options of M duck and M chicken. M stands for imitation (as in not real meat, comes from a can). Came with rice, shaped like a heart. Pretty good Thai spot.

Papaya salad! Som tum, level 1 spice! Lots of peanuts!

Omg!! I AM SO GLAD this place FINALLY opened!!! Thai food is my favorite cuisine!! Our server was Lisa, she was SO friendly and sweet and patient w/ my husband and I ordering, she explained the menu options, and made conversation our entire time, you can tell the owners here are BIG on customer service, everyone is so friendly!!! ALL the food we ordered was soo good, flavorful, light, refreshing and so filling! Papaya salad /som tum - 10/10 = i'm used to eating sweet papaya salad, this salad was more flavorful, lots of lime for citrus flavor and more peanuts!! I love peanuts! Chicken wings! They gave a lot more than usual thai restaurants, and this was crispy, hot paired with their sweet & sour sauce. We asked Lisa if they have any spicy dipping sauce and she had the kitchen make (Jeow) spell check?? And it enhanced and elevated the flavor paired SO good woth the dipping sauce (i asked if I can buy a larger sized sauce for home, and she did!!) Panang curry was flavorful as well and they put a lot of chicken and shrimp!! Thai tea was great and they gave us a HUGE mug to drink it in, compared to other restaurants that have smaller serving sizes, they definitely do not skimp out when it comes their portions! Lastly to finish, we got the mango and sticky rice which was so good with their sweet milk, it's such a refreshing dessert because it still feels healthy. I'm wishing this place all the success, I loved everything about this place, service, and the restaurant was SO CLEAN and spacious!! I'd come back here every day!!

Yellow Chicken Curry with a side of Rice
Vivyana L.

Had such a great experience at this Thai spot! I ordered the chicken yellow curry and it was absolutely delicious rich, flavorful, and honestly tasted like it was homemade. We also got the chicken pad Thai, which was just as good and really hit the spot. The service made it even better the lady who attended us was so kind and welcoming. On top of that, the food came out super fast and was nice and hot. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

I got the CRAB FRIED RICE 3 spice

I got the CRAB FRIED RICE 3 spice level.., It was pretty good but whhyyyyyy is it sooo sweet??? Like I had to keep adding soy sauce to take away from the sweetness. Other than that I enjoyed it... Large portions and packed with care

Hot Angel Wings
Santiago Z.

My best Thai place thus far in North County SD! Portions were plenty! There's nothing I love more than to wake up the next day with leftovers!!! To start we ordered wings which sauce was delicious. I ordered the chicken and beef fried rice with Thai iced coffee. Service was great and ambiance was family oriented. Definitely will be back! Mouth watering just thinking of the food. Must try if you're in North County

Thai tea around $5.16!! Super large for the price!
Audrey R.

I've been here twice now and I am not disappointed! Portions are large and you can customize the spice! They truly do Thai hot, my friend loves spice and she was saying it was to her standards. It's a small restaurant so when they're busy it's a tight squeeze, but honestly it's worth it! The staff are kind as well, there are a few bathroom stalls available in the back, and don't forget to take a peek at the little outdoor patio area. Nothing showstopping, but it's a nice moment of fresh air and to view the sunset.

Spicy Noodle and Chow Mein Noodle
Ricardo M.

Small Thai food place located nearby CSUSM. Service was good and attentive. Recommended if you're in the area and need a reliable place to grab dinner with a small party as the tables aren't very big. One bonus of the place is the Thai tea/ coffee were huge and very good in my opinion. Food ordered what chow mein noodle and spicy noodle. Both were good but vegtables were undercooked. Overall not a bad place for some quick food.

Mango sticky rice to go. 10/10 (large size)

Ask the Community - Thai Thai Restaurant

Any relation to the Thai Thai Cafe that used to be in Solana Beach many years ago? 🙏

I'm not sure

Is MSG used in their food?

I am msg sensitive and I have eaten there at lease 3 times and have not had any aversion. But I don't know for sure if they do or not. I would recommend you tell them not to put any and I am sure the chef will accommodate. Hope this helps!

Do any meal delivery services delivery? I don't see them on doordash or Uber eats.

I don't know about delivery, Louis, but I can say the food at Thai Thai is great! Gerry

Do they have lunch specials that include soup?

Yes

I ordered a meal and all sorts of things got added to my bill that most wouldn't notice. Extra chicken, vegetables. I ordered Tom Kha with chicken, not double chicken and not extra veggies. It was embarrassing. I hope they catch who did that and correct this. I understand you want to get more money, but this isn't the way. Also got fried egg rolls despite asking for spring rolls. Bill was around $90 for $60 worth of food. I do think this was an exception and will give them another chance. Just make sure you look closely at your bill for extras you didn't order.
