Not bad not bad. My husband always crave sushi, but it's so expensive and he doesn't want to pay an arm and leg to get his sushi fix most of the time. We needed affordable options. We looked at all the sushi in SM and my husband gave Ahi a chance. We called it in for pick up, they quoted 20 minutes but I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for it when I got there. They were a little busy. I got the chirashi bowl, my husband got 3 rolls, and we ordered a kids meal came with Teri chicken, cali roll and potsticker. Honestly the sushi wasn't bad. It's a notch higher than sushi deli IMO. Their chirashi bowl, for the price was a great deal. The only fish I didn't like was the tuna, it was tasteless, probably previously frozen too. The others weren't bad. We also judge sushi by their California rolls, and they made it right. The best deal is the kids meal. My little boy ate it all! Even the roll. We'll be coming here for our affordable sushi fix. It does the job. Restaurant was extremely warm inside, so was a little worried about the sushi, but everything was fine. read more

Like they say, never judge a book by its cover is simply the fact about this place!! While originally wanted to go to the Spaghetti Factory we ended up here and I am glad we did! The food and the service were amazing! The spicy Las Vegas roll was had down one of the best rolls I've had in my life!! It's so flavorful and the spicy mango salsa paired so well with it. I also like the spicy Edamame but found the Philadelphia roll and Spider roll just okay but it wasn't bad. The Yellowtail belly was also just okay but clearly because I made an error while ordering. This is my new favorite sushi place in town. For starters the staff is welcoming, friendly and do a fabulous job. The environment is typical for a sushi spot. What places this at the top of my sushi places is by far the quality of the food itself, and variety of options. The fish is fresh, and the specialty rolls are divinely concocted. The salmon lover roll is light, crisp, refreshing, and full of flavor. The Tuna x Tuna packed just the right amount of heat, and was delicious. I have a favorite sushi place in my home town, but this surpasses it by leaps and bounds. I fully consider myself a sushi snob, and there are a lot of places I will walk out of before even ordering. I went to this restaurant yesterday with my family everyone was happy there we received really good service. The food was great. The sushi seems super fresh. The fish that they served on the sashimi plate was extremely large and good sized and very filling. I highly recommend coming here for good sushi. I didn't take any pictures because we ate it all. The restaurant itself is a little cluttered in the bathroom area, moderately sized, but clean nonetheless. I got the sushi lunch and added a yellowtail nigiri for $30. I especially love the sashimi salad--it's light, refreshing. The crawfish baked roll is another standout, super satisfying and very well-cooked. I have gotten their tempura bento delivered multiple times, and it used to come without issues. Well the last couple of times, they did not give me my dipping sauce or the dressing on my salad. The first time I could write off as an accident, but this has happened multiple times now. So this is intentional? I don't know about other people, but I dont want a saucless salad or dry tempura. The last time I ordered it I even put a note asking for the dipping sauce and still nothing. Yet they never seem to forget the orange slice that comes as a garnish?? I ordered delivery, so no service is rated here. Note: the miso soup and seaweed salad pictured are from my kitchen, not the restaurant. I ordered: the Ichiban Roll with no mayo, yellowtail belly sushi, spicy scallop hand roll, spicy yellowtail roll. The fish was excellent, plentiful, and fresh throughout everything, but one star off from me because the sushi rice was bland/lacked flavor on its own. The Ichiban Roll was the star, delicious blend of flavors and the sauce flavored the rice perfectly. The yellowtail roll was bigger that expected and a great value, but did need to be dipped in soy/wasabi to add flavor to the rice. The yellowtail belly itself was tender and yummy, but the rice ruined the bite - dipping didn't help, it just killed the delicate flavor of the fish, so I ditched the rice and just ate the second piece as sashimi. I loved the bit of gobo and sprouts in the scallop hand roll, and how stuffed it was with fresh scallops, but again there was too much rice to ignore and dipping killed the flavor. So right now I recommend ordering the rolls, sashimi, and skipping the nigiri and hand rolls. I'll definitely give many more shots as the prices, portion sizes, and fish are great and we just moved in nearby... it may just have been an off rice day. Who knows? We walked in, and the place looked dirty! We were asked to sat ourselves and noticed that the chairs were dirty and with old food residue, I swiped chairs and still looked dirty, I reached over to the counter, there was a cleaning spray bottle left with a rag on top, I grabbed it and started cleaning the chairs while the waitress watched (lol), the rag turned brown with filth, my wife and I walked out 2 minutes later! I like the vibe here and this place gets busy at night. I like to get the hamachi kama (collar) here, just fyi it's deep fried instead of grilled on a bed of salad with ponzu sauce on the side. The fish is hot so you might want to push the salad on one side to prevent it from getting soggy. The sushis we had and love would have to be the Tuna X Tuna, Volcano Roll, Caterpillar Roll, Last Vegas Roll, and Dynamite Roll. My daughter likes the Rainbow Roll with thinly sliced lemon on top for the refreshing flavor.
