Food is great as usual, although the order was wrong. I came on Valentine's Day for pick up. They said to pick up 5:05. Arrived like 5:15 to give them some time. Didn't get my food til 5:40. If that was the estimate I would've been good with it. On the order receipt it went in like 4:48pm, but orders that I saw ready before mine were put in 5pm and afterwards. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day today, and had a great experience, as always. We got the Lobster, shrimp, and scallop prik khing special, and pad see ewe for our late lunch, and then some other dishes to take home for the rest of the weekend since we live about an hour away. We took home a Thai salad, pad ped nor mai, and mango and sticky rice. Everything is always so good and fresh! Spice level is always on point to what we order, and the service is excellent. They are very helpful with suggestions on how to order things if you are a picky eater like me. We love the peanut salad dressing, and the dishes are very well balanced with lots of fresh veggies. If you are a middle of the day diner like we are, note that they close between 3pm and 4:30pm each day. read more

Posted tonight from Thai Thai in Wilkes Barre. So many people suggested I try it here and I am on a forever search for the best drunken noodles so I finally made it happen. Got 4 star heat and it started out slow but it kicked up to 4 star for sure. I love the wide rice noodles for this dish and the chicken and vegetables were seasoned well and cooked to a nice consistency. I normally don't drink beverages that add calories to my life but the Thai tea is a really nice once in a while treat. Strong tea flavor and super creamy with obviously a hefty deal of sugar. Very enjoyable but not exactly a thirst quencher haha I'd go back to Thai Thai for sure, especially since I grabbed this on a lunch special so the price was right too. Probably the best Thai food I've had and I try Thai every place I travel. I am by no means a food connoisseur but I live for a good pad see ew and I haven't found one even close to as good as Thai Thai. Also the service is unbeatable. Only negative is they don't do delivery but that isn't something I can give them a bad rating for. read more

Picked up some fresh hot Thai to go. Parked on the street and walked a block or so to this upscale Thai spot. Busy and tons of regulars were on hand. I asked for a chef favorite and the server recommended the pad Thai. I added in the soup, both requested as medium spicy. (2*) is how this came labeled. The soup had plenty of fresh floating mushroom pieces and thin sliced white meat chicken. The cilantro was tasty and this was a real winner. Chop sticks at the ready.. I dove into the pad Thai. Peanuts, bean sprouts, and the same tasty chicken. My only ding would be that the noodles were a tad soggy, probably from being take out vs dine in. Make a reservation, or enjoy take out within 10-15min later. The to go bag was study and packages were top notch for a spill proof drive to my hotel. Killer meal! read more

I visited Thai Thai with my family as a belated birthday dinner. You can call ahead and make a reservation. I definitely suggest doing that since it was busy the Saturday we went (and that's always a good sign). The restaurant is pretty moderately sized, which is expected for the location. What really sets this place apart is the owner and staff. They are truly the sweetest and most fun (I'll get to that later on in the review). For appetizers we had Tod Mun Pla (Thai Fish cake), golden ring (calamari), Thai spring rolls, and a little mermaid. I am a fan of fish cake and enjoyed these. The calamari, spring rolls, and little mermaid (shrimp spring roll) were perfectly fried! They were crispy and delicious! The sauces they all came with complimented them perfectly. For drinks I got a Thai iced tea. It was perfectly sweetened. The Thai iced coffee was also really good. For my entree, I ordered the Thai yellow curry. They allow you to choose your spice level and protein. I went with mild and chicken. It was seasoned really well and everything balanced each other. The potatoes were also cut in a fun crinkle shape which I haven't seen before. It's served with a side of rice. I did wish the side of rice was bigger. I went with my family so they just offered their rice to me, but I think the ratio of curry to rice was off. That's just a small point though. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to bring more if asked. My family ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken, drunken noodle with chicken, lobster with panang curry (off the chef's special menu), Goong Pad Pak, and holy basil duck. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The seafood was perfectly cooked. (Some places can overcook seafood.) I also usually go for duck at Thai restaurants so I tried a bite and that was also perfectly prepared. The rice and noodles were also very flavorful. We were all happy. For dessert, we would've have ordered the mango sticky rice, but they were out. Instead, I ordered grandma's ice cream (with vanilla ice cream). We also ordered coconut ice cream, and Thai custard. Grandma's ice cream comes with sticky rice. It was in a clump at the bottom but it was really good. The Thai custard was also good, not too sweet but a little too eggy for my personal taste. Here is where the fun starts. Since we told them it was my birthday, they brought out dessert (the Asian cheese cake in our case) with a candle. However, the lights also turn off and they have a colorful disco ball! They play a happy birthday song and the staff comes over to dance with you. It's truly such a nice experience. The other customers really get into it too. You can tell everyone that works there cares about the customers and tries to make a personal connection. I would definitely visit again. The prices were fair for the amount and quality of the meals. The atmosphere is also very fun and inviting. It is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday! read more

We had some good Thai food here. Wasn't sure what to expect from Wilkes-barre so I had kept my expectations modest. I had some really tasty and spicy green curry with chicken. It was a very large portion. It was the weekend so the lunch menu wasn't available. But it was easily enough for two, especially if you got an extra portion of rice. (Which we did for our pile of leftovers.). Great pad see ew with beef. Very fresh and tasty. Noodles were nicely done. A perfect mix of sweet and savory. We also had some of the dumplings (forgot to get a pic!) and some beef satay. Both were really good! The dumplings were a little dry but chock full of stuffing which more than made up for any dryness. The restaurant was nice and clean. It has lots of windows so it was a nice lunch spot. read more

Some of the best Thai food on the planet in my opinion. I eat here often when on the Wilkes campus and it is always a great meal/experience. The staff is friendly, the food is cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere is quiet/calm and clean. Avoid the chain-places over near the mall. Thai Thai is outstanding. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE food. No flavor, vegetables are so overcooked and mushy, it's frankly not edible. We have not been able to finish even half of the each of our dishes. Mushrooms seem old and bruised like they started to go bad before they were cooked. I eat Thai food all the time, and I also cook quite a bit - I can make out the difference between fresh produce and this garbage. I feel totally scammed. It's so infuriating. I don't know how a place like this is even open. The only reason I went is because it seemed to have decent rating, but do not be fooled. Look elsewhere. read more

A colleague and I were looking for a quick bite before meeting some other colleagues for a meeting. I like Thai food and thought I would give this a try. A plus to this location is there is a parking garage directly across the street. The menu had a number of choices and were very descriptive on what they included. The food was extremely hot and had great flavor. They bring you a small salad to the table almost immediately upon seating you and it was tasty. The service was top notch. Very friendly and attentive to your needs. My water glass never was empty and to be honest it likely never got below half full before someone there was filling it up. The restaurant is very open and tables are spread out. This allows you to have conversations without having to talk over others. It was very clean to include the restroom. I will be visiting this location again on my future visits to PA. read more

My wife and I love Thai food and are at Harveys Lake for the summer so we don't have many options for Thai food. We live in Greenville SC most of the year and we have a lot of Thai options there. We ate here recently and found the food to be very good, but not great. The duck was the exception, it was tremendous. Our server was attentive and we did enjoy being able to bring our own wine and not pay a corkage fee. We'll return. read more

They were my first non Chinese oriental cuisine years ago. Love the cury chicken and the use of vegetables in many of the dishes. Make sure you park in the Y lot and not on the street. We went on a weeknight around 630 to 7 it was just very odd there was really no one there. Not sure why it's in a good location downtown food was exceptional, and the staff was very friendly. Prices seem very reasonable. I had the Maza mom curry and a Thai tea and my eating buddy had the pad Thai and it's IT and we shared a calamari. The curry was very good, it was prepared slightly different than what I've had before with some slightly different ingredients. The tii tea was awesome and my eating buddy had never had one before loved it. The calamari was OK the sauce was very good but the pieces were small and a little chewy. It was not the best Thai food I have ever had but it was very good enjoyed the atmosphere and there was plenty of options on the menu to find exactly what you want. I'm continually impressed by this restaurant every time I come here for lunch or dinner. It is great authentic Thai food made well. My daughter and I both live this place and we come here whenever we meet up for lunch. I've had several dishes here over the years including Drunken Noodles, Curry and several others. Their spring rolls are also fantastic. They will adjust the spice level (heat) of your curry to your liking. Level 5 is the hottest. I like my food very spicy and level 5 isn't super hot. My daughter usually asks for level 2. This is truly one of the better restaurants in Wilkes-Barre. Oh, and I love real tablecloths and napkins. I wish every restaurant would do this. read more

Great Authentic Thai food! We ordered carry out and really loved the drunken noodle and pad grapow (basil stir fry with chicken). It seriously tastes like home cooking and the sweet Thai staff were very friendly and greeted me when I came to to pick up and chat with me a little bit even when they were pretty busy. Notably tasty were the som tum papaya salad and beef satay, a great combo. I would suggest going a little spicer although I kept it medium. No photos because I was so hungry! read more

I only stopped in to Thai Thai to get takeout but I was impressed with the fanciness and service at this restaurant. Of course, the food was great too. A Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken (2 stars hot) and chicken satay. The Pad Thai was just the right bit of spice, plenty of chicken and a reasonable portion of shrimps. The Chicken Satay were three very large pieces of chicken breast on skewers, cooked well and with a small pot of peanut sauce for pouring or dipping. Eating in would have improved things but the quality for takeout was very good. I expect to return to Thai Thai! Street parking with meters in the daytime, no need to pay in the evening hours. read more

Thai Thai has taken the place of the much-loved, now shuttered Katana next door for people seeking upscale Asian cuisine. They co-existed briefly for a while but when the proprietors of Katana decided to pack it in, nobody was willing to step up and buy the place. Such are the pitfalls of owning a food establishment in a place like a pricey strip-mall when dozens of other cheaper options are available a few yards away. (Pro tip: if you own a bar or restaurant and you don't own the real estate, you will find yourself in an involuntary partnership with your landlord.) Thai Thai is a mid-sized, clean and modern space with a menu that covers all the bases you would expect a Thai joint to embrace. Noodly dishes with proteins and vegetables crowding large plates that could practically hold a medium-sized turkey. Portions are not skimpy and the plating is colorful and inviting. I usually opt for the Pad Thai and can never seem to get through even half of it before tapping out and asking for a to-go container. Value-wise, it's decent. Most entrees run around $14 and you will not likely leave hungry. It's mostly pasta but the same could be said for any Italian dish at the same (or higher) price. They have a few cheaper lunch options with adjusted portions that's a decent bargain if you are there at the right time. No liquor or beer available. Service is fine. read more
