I recently found this Thai Restaurant Oh boy I feel like I hit the jackpot. There dishes, drinks and dessert unbelievably tasty and yummy yummy yummy. Yesterday I had the chicken coconut soup authentic Thai food. I am from Florida in the past I have dined at many Thai restaurants no big deal nothing to rave about but here if I was to be executed my last wish would be the soup coconut milk with chicken, a main course and oh my gosh not to forget the mango and sticky rice. They have a lunch special there prices are very reasonable I don't like Tea I tasted a drink with Tea and half and half added oh boy was it delicious. I wish I could eat here every single day! They are closed on Tuesdays. Two lovely owners his wife is the Chef everything she makes she puts her heart and sole into her cooking. AUTHENTIC I AM TELLING YOU AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD HERE. Her husband takes your order and gives you your food super awesome guy. Give this place a try I guarantee you you will be extremely happy This place is a gold mine. To all my fellow Deadheads out there, "Mama Tried" and Mama's Thai delivered. The best Thai food I've had in NEPA. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had to be honest. Ordered Mama's Thai Dumplings, Curry Puffs, Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp, Drunken Noodles with chicken, Pineapple fried rice with pork. Everything comes at spice level 0, I went with 2 on everything, because I like a little somethin somethin. If you don't like spice, you can always add some heat to the side. Tonight was my first time trying here. It was delicious!! Got drunken noodles ($15 dinner) with chicken and pad Thai with beef ($16). We loved what we got and I will get the drunken noodles spicier next time Friendly atmosphere with quick service and ready quickly. Ordered online, only wish it would give the option to have no protein. Both meals have plenty of left overs for lunch. Yikes, I cannot believe I did not finish this! Basically, MaMa Thais is the best in the Wilkes-Barre area, and you can not go wrong, her food makes you crave more! Highly recommend this place! I was in Pocono for work and found this place. It's probably the most authentic Thai food I've ever had. I ordered Tom Yum soup, Thai dumplings, and basil fried rice--all were great. The Tom Yum soup was especially different from what I've had at other places. The owners are very nice as well. My experience with Thai food has always been in the USA so no expert here but I've been to dozens of places in multiple states. We ordered at lunchtime and did pickup takeout, food was hot and ready 5 minutes later than the estimated time. Owner was very nice and friendly. We ordered spring rolls, chicken satay, Tom kha soup, beef salad, and chicken pad see ew (see, very American order!). Pad see ew and spring rolls were very good tho the sauce for the rolls didn't seem like homemade. The satay pieces were huge and you got a lot of meat but it was more like baked chicken than bbq and the peanut sauce seemed to me to be bottled not homemade, ugh. The vinegar sauce was delicious. The soup just didn't have that yummy balance of hot sweet sour citrus coconut that it's so famous for and it was so sweet. Finally there was a very unpleasant powder (grit) on the beef in the salad (maybe garlic powder?) and at the bottom of the bowl, just a big no. We got lots of food cooked by nice people from a locally owned restaurant and all of those are pluses. read more

So, let's first start with the fact that MaMa (or at least the woman we interacted with) is a delight. She was so fun, helpful, and was wonderful to talk to. She helped with suggestions, offered modifications, and was really very focused on making sure we would enjoy what we got. And what we got, was amazing. My drunken noodles were very tasty, my mother got a suggested item of chicken and vegetables that she loved. We also got the chicken skewers and chicken wings. The peanut sauce that came with the skewers was delicious, and the wings were awesome. They don't have indoor dining open yet, but the food was ready fast so the wait was barely anything at all. I was pleasantly surprised how fast it came out, and it smelled so good while being made. Will absolutely def be going back!!! read more

What a delicious gem! I'm so glad to see a new Thai establishment in the area. Previously, the closest Thai eateries were in Scranton or Wilkes-Barre, so it's nice to see one so close to my parents. The owner was super friendly and sweet both on the phone and in person. The decor was simple, clean, and effective. Most importantly, the food was very tasty. This area is not one that boasts of diversity in cuisine, so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste, which is comparable to some of my favorite Thai takeout spots in Philly and DC. The green curry, pad bamboo, and drunken noodles were all great in flavor. I will definitely be back to frequent more! read more

There are probably three Thai places in Nepa, and Ma Ma's is easily the best. The curries are fragrant and perfectly spiced. My favorite however is the drunken noodles which are excellent. Most Americans rate Thai food on three dishes alone: green curry, pad Thai, and drunken noodles. This lady does a great job on all three. I've been here several times and the food was excellent and more importantly consistent. One piece of advice, ask for mild or medium spicy. The regular spicy is a bit much for my Americanized palate. Prices are a steal and the steady stream of customers waiting for food lets you know she is dishing out the good stuff. read more
