The food is great, highly recommend the pad thai, krapow over rice, and the Lao style papaya salad! The food is sooo flavorful and depending on who makes the Lao style papaya salad (my favorite), it can be on the fishier and more pungent side. But their papaya salad was pretty balanced. Lao style is generally more sour, spicy, and pungent whereas Thai style tends to be sweeter and lighter tasting. Also, if you're not a fan of spice or have a more sensitive stomach, do NOT get medium spice lol. Your stomach might hurt. Even though we were finished eating and had been there for almost 2 hours, the staff were still serving us water and offered the very front seat as the "free seat" to sit at, since it's a non serving table. Arrived just in time to see Morocco beating Netherlands in penalty kicks during Round of 32 FIFA World Cup. They have great lunch specials that come with a thai iced tea or thai iced coffee. They also do a lot of take-out, and sometimes it can get pretty busy. However, the staff is very attentive and friendly. During the weekends, they also have free karaoke with a karaoke host (just tips)! This is one of my go to place for Thai food. It's close to my home and also have good food. I've always ordered takeout, but this past Saturday, I finally dined in. The food taste fine as take out, but definitely taste great dine in. I got the pad see ew and Penang curry with spring rolls for appetizer. The pad see ew noodle was chewy and savory. The Penang curry was spicy and flavorful. We had a lovely time as it was also karaoke night. You can sing there. You can tell there are definitely regulars here as they are quite good at singing. My family and I have tried several Thai restaurants around the neighborhood, and Thai Villa continues to be our favorite. We usually order the pineapple rice, yellow curry, pad see ew, and tom kha soup. Everything we've tried has been delicious. If I could change one thing, I'd love to see an option for pineapple rice with tofu, which they offer at some other Thai restaurants. That said, it's a small thing, and we'll definitely continue coming back for the great food. If you're dining in, they also have a very lively, family-centered karaoke night. Called ahead to order take out, was quoted 10-15, and it was ready before 8 minutes. Easy to pick up and pay, clean interior with a corner stage for karaoke. Good quality was great and would try more of the menu when I return. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken as the protein and asked for no bean sprouts. The food was ready a few min early, hot and ready to eat. The take-out container was full, a large entire portion size and an appropriate portion of chicken too. It wasn't dry anywhere, just some bites had disproportionately more noodles and therefore tasted less intense. I even noticed a couple leaving before me, and when the woman called out a big "thank you," there was no response in return. From a five to a one start in 5 years. We came on a lazy Saturday at 230p. The place was empty and it felt like the AC was low inside. Menus were set in the table, no greeting, server walked away. We knew what we wanted so we didn't need more time to think. After no acknowledgment or water, and watching the two servers chat at the register for five minutes we left. Something to keep in mind is that they do close for an hour mid-day, from 3pm-4pm, for a break.
