Arrived just in time to see Morocco beating Netherlands in penalty kicks during Round of 32 FIFA World Cup. Best Thai in the area. Every dish I've had here is great - the pad thai, pad sew ew, green curry, yellow curry, tom yum noodle soup, chicken satay -- all are fantastic. They have great lunch specials that come with a thai iced tea or thai iced coffee. They also do a lot of take-out, and sometimes it can get pretty busy. However, the staff is very attentive and friendly. During the weekends, they also have free karaoke with a karaoke host (just tips)! The Penang curry was spicy and flavorful. We had a lovely time as it was also karaoke night. You can sing there. You can tell there are definitely regulars here as they are quite good at singing. Authentic Thai food and a real hidden gem. A friend introduced me to this place and I had such a great experience! Visited on a Friday night at 7:30, and my group of five was sat immediately. Pretty soon after, more parties arrived and the place was packed. We ordered pad see ew, dumpling soup, khao soi curry, and thai tea. Everything was out in 10-15 mins, and arrived piping hot. We were starving last Sunday and came to our newly discovered fav Thai restaurant. It was our second time here and were surprised to walk into a karaoke party going on. The restaurant is kind of small, and every table except one was taken. This was the first time I tried their chicken pad Thai and it was PERFECT. The chicken to Thai noodles portions were great. Good quality was great and would try more of the menu when I return. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken as the protein and asked for no bean sprouts. The food was ready a few min early, hot and ready to eat. The take-out container was full, a large entire portion size and an appropriate portion of chicken too. It wasn't dry anywhere, just some bites had disproportionately more noodles and therefore tasted less intense. No smile, no real engagement--just took my order, said it would be a few minutes, handed me my bag, and said thank you. That was it. A little more enthusiasm or warmth toward patrons would really take this place to a chef's kiss level. I even noticed a couple leaving before me, and when the woman called out a big "thank you," there was no response in return. ( most likely didn't hear her but I still felt a lil bad for her, thats why the employees should be the ones to say thank you first) So, for ratings: Food: 10/10 - no complaints, absolutely delicious. From a five to a one start in 5 years. We came on a lazy Saturday at 230p. The place was empty and it felt like the AC was low inside. Menus were set in the table, no greeting, server walked away. We knew what we wanted so we didn't need more time to think. After no acknowledgment or water, and watching the two servers chat at the register for five minutes we left. Also, the mango looked a little old and beat up? Food was a little greasy and to be honest it gave me a stomachache after. Not sure if the food was heavy but it made me bloated. Foods don't usually do this to me. I then proceeded to taking a shot of tequila after since I felt blehhhh! Probably won't be back here although many people seem to love it. Stopped in to Thai Villa for an early Saturday dinner. It was our first time and we were overall pretty satisfied. The food was yummy and the service was friendly. Something to keep in mind is that they do close for an hour mid-day, from 3pm-4pm, for a break. Have been coming here for good thai food and the karaoke for a few years. They used to have this really nice woman KJ on Friday nights and now, they have this other woman who has completely messed up the sound system (quality and volume), is surly and uncooperative, and actually asked me to tip her since I brought a party of 11 in to eat and sing. So sorry that you would prefer to cater to others instead of support budding young voice students as well.
