I had lunch here today. The food was good, but I'm giving only 1 star because of my checkout experience. The server didn't provide a printed receipt before asking me to tap my card to pay. I selected an additional 7% tip on the payment terminal. Afterward, I requested a printed receipt and noticed that an automatic 18% gratuity had already been added to my approximately $106 bill. That resulted in nearly a 25% total tip, which I wasn't aware of when I paid. If an automatic gratuity is included, customers should be clearly informed before they're asked to complete payment. My friends and I were looking for some food and decided to go back to an old favorite. We hadn't been to Sweetee Thai for a long time - probably at least a few years. The layout hadn't changed and everything pretty much runs the same as before. We ordered some dishes to share, including what I was craving - tom yum noodle soup. This is one of the few places that make this noodle soup and has all the fixings that I like in it. Plus they make it spicy on a consistent basis, which is hard to find. Our food came out quickly and everything was good. Sweetee Thai is one of the those places where some of the dishes are fantastic while most of the other ones are consistently good. We know that when we come here, we will get a good meal. I also convinced my friends to share a coconut smoothie with me - yum! Came here with a friend of mine. We wanted to have lunch at a Thai spot. So decided to come here. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Service was good. Didn't get her name, but she was quick to serve us. I had ordered the yellow curry with rice and salad. Not sure what dressing they topped the salad with, but it was good. Tasted like honey mustard. My meal did taste fantastic. No complaints there. They also had serve us water in a fancy stainless steel cup. Never seen anything like it. Portions aren't that big for the cost, but all food is expensive these days. You have to ask for utensils and condiments. Today I had the opportunity to revisit Sweetee Thai Cafe and I am glad I did. It has been a while since I've been here, and I noticed a few changes. When I visited the first time they accepted cash only, which I barely ever carry around but luckily I made a small withdrawal the day before so I lucked out. The last time I came this place was packed and today only one other table was taken during my visit. I also noted that the prices on the menu went up as well. This restaurant was absolutely amazing! It was our first time going and we were not disappointed! First we ordered the chicken satay and it was so juicy, and paired with the peanut sauce, it was incredible. We also ordered spicy fried rice with chicken in the medium spice level. It was so good with a burst of flavors once we had a bite. Don't underestimate the heat! My parents enjoyed it but it was too spicy for me, so we ordered another regular fried rice with chicken, and looking at it seemed like it wouldn't be as flavorful but it was amazing as well! The rice was so fluffy and there was a good amount of chicken and eggs. Another dish we ordered was the chicken pad see ew. This was the only dish which didn't blow me away, and wasn't really the best pad see ew I've had. The next dish that came out was the chicken panang curry, and the curry was exceptional! I loved pairing it with the regular fried rice. It was so creamy and light. Staff here were friendly and kept on asking if everything was to our liking. I'm so glad I did! The food was just as amazing as I remembered. I went with a few friends and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. I got the seafood dish, and honestly, it was a solid 10/10. Fresh, flavorful, and just perfect. I also tried the crab fried rice, which was packed with real, fresh crab--definitely a winner in my book. My friends ordered the fried mussels, along with a couple of other dishes, and everything was so good! We ended on a high note with Thai French toast for dessert... It was bomb! My family and I ordered the calamari appetizer, chicken larb (the best and tastiest of what we ordered), shrimp fried rice, crispy pork with Chinese broccoli and a veggie dish with tofu (turned out to be fried tofu). The shrimp were a bit rubbery and the pork didn't taste fresh. The flavor overall for the latter 3 dishes was definitely lacking and it looked like the dishes had just been thrown together. My family and I used to frequent this place almost monthly from 12 years ago til about 5 years ago. We decided to give it another shot after being away for so many years. On August 4, we went for lunch and had a waitress who could barely speak English greet us and take our order, (which was incorrect when we asked for for pork Moo Yang, she gave us some ages old beef). Then she tried to up-sell us on some lunch set which we're not interested in. We ordered pad-see-ey, and 2 thai boat noodles, in which were terrible tasting. The last straw was when we got our bill which came with a 18% service charge. We had 3 adults and barely 2 childs. Asked the waitress is it customary to charge automatic service charge for barely a group of 5, she nodded her head and spoke gibberish. There is also no clear mention of this charge on any of the menus or elsewhere in the restaurant. A once fine establishment probably ran to ruins by new greedy management, I as well as my millions of followers will never set foot here again. read more

I recently visited Sweety Thai and got food TO GO. Initially, I got a receipt showing only the total cost and a prompt for a tip. When I asked for an itemized receipt to split the bill with friends, I found a hidden 10% service charge. It seems like the restaurant initially provided a summary receipt to hide this charge, and they even asked for a tip again. Adding a service charge is illegal in California, and their attempt to hide it is both deceptive and against the law. Check your receipts carefully if you visit this place. This dishonest practice shouldn't be tolerated. I wouldn't come here again and I'll make sure all my friends around me know about their illegal practice. read more
