The crabs were fresh, as I was literally waiting for them to come in from the fisherman in the morning., and waited outside for them to be cooked. The crabs were sweet and stuffed. We loved them! This is a pick up spot, they do not have dine in. I would call in the order as early as you can when they open. I'm sure they run out at some point.

The seeded buns were also top notch! I purchased two small steaks and cooked them up in the cast iron. It was undoubtedly the best steak I have ever had at home; it melted in my mouth! Just look at the marbling in the pictures. The meat at the store is some of the best quality I have seen and tasted. We also tried their mini-baguette sandwiches, and they did not disappoint! For only 3 buck a pop, they provided a perfect snack-sized comestible that kept us going on our errands. The decor was nice, with a "little shop in the French countryside" kind of vibe. Nothing too over the top, and nothing too boring. It was classic, but reserved, in a good way that evokes a relaxed feeling. I just wish we had known about this place sooner! So many wasted days not shopping here... But, now we know! My sister, my granddaughter and I went out today to get our Christmas tree. After looking at a few…read moreother places and not finding any that we liked, we ended up at Chesapeakes Bounty in St. Leonard, MD. We parked, got out of the car and started looking at the trees. A gentleman came over (with a cute elf hat on) and he took the time to answer any questions that we had about the different trees. He showed us the area that had the size trees we were interested in getting. He told us to be careful as the ground was saturated from the melting snow. He was so kind to my granddaughter and even agreed to pose for a picture with her. The selection of trees was better the any we had seen elsewhere, it was clean and the trees were organized by size and price with plenty of room to walk around each tree. I told Will, the man that was helping us, that Chesapeake Bounty will be my go to not only for our yearly Christmas tree but all year round! Thank you for the Christmas cheer and Merry Christmas!!

I was disappointed in Nicks today, last week I picked up a ham steak the use by date on the package…read moresaid March 8, 2023. Last night I was going to fix it for dinner when I opened it the ham has a very thick slimy and gooey. It had a nicked sticker on it so I thought they would take it back without a receipt, it was under $7. So I went in and spoke with the manager told him about it first thing he asked for is a receipt, no I don't but it has your pricing sticker you can see I purchased it here. He wouldn't even look at it just wanted a receipt, said he could look it up if I used a charge card. I shop here a few times a week, I hardly ever purchase meat ahead of time to use later except for bacon I get 5lbs at a time and meat like the packaged ham steaks or whole yams that have a longer use by date for planned ahead meals , I stop in pickup what ever meat I'm fixing for dinner that night. This is the second time since this store has opened up that a meat I purchased from here had an issue with it and this was the first time I was asked for a receipt. I've been shopping at a Nicks since I was a kid my grandmother use to take me to the one in Clinton once a week, then when I started working I would stop in Nicks of Clinton to get a sub for lunch. It was really nice when the one opened in St-Charles off of Rt 5 and Mattawoman-Beantown Rd. I started purchasing meat for my own family and then this one opened in Calvert made it even more convenient to shop at. I guess I'll have to learn to take a picture of my receipt from here in case this happens again or I can just continue to be a loyal shopper here and just take the loss and move on. I'm not going to stop shopping here since this is only the 2nd time getting a bad product for as long as I've been a shopping at a Nick's.

We were able to select a mix and match half dozen of their mostly local brews, which our lovely shopkeeper was able to put together with transferable can clips into one unit. There appears to be other things for sale in the way of snacks and light lunches, but we didn't pay much attention to them. We knew we would be stuffed with Maryland Blues, chowder and key lime pie that night and were saving our appetites until then. It was cool to buy our night's beverages in a shop that might have been selling grog and heavy ales for the last 250 years!

I originally stopped in after reading on Yelp that the owner makes her own kimchi and lumpia and I'm so glad I did. The woman at the front was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, answering all my questions about the different products in the store. I found the kimchi and lumpia right away and ended up walking out with four bags of groceries, that's how good her selection is. From baked goods to sauces to snacks, everything was great. She also carries some fantastic teas, but I'm keeping my favorite a secret because her prices are better than anything I've found online and I'm not taking the risk of it being sold out next time! Overall, this place is a wonderful local market that's absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back (over and over again).
