I came here with some friends to enjoy a nice Italian dinner. Let me start off by saying that this family owned establishment is the real deal! The food was tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. Food 4/5 I highly recommend AP Pasta if you like Italian greens, sausage and spice. If you like pink sauce (a mix of alfredo and spicy tomato) try D'Angelo pasta. The cavatelli and meatballs also looked divine. My friend ordered the last piece of tiramisu which speaks to how good it was in my opinion. Portions 5/5 Big entrees plus you get a dinner salad and bread basket. Bar 4/5 They have a full service bar with a good selection of beer, wine and spirits. On this trip, I tried a glass of Winter Nights, a sweet and spiced holiday, pink wine. Yum! Back after a year. The restaurant has moved but the food is just as tasty as I remembered. Yum! I haven't been to Gia's but twice since they opened. Once was when we lived in Boardman back between 2009-2011 and then today. My sisters warned me that some days it's great, other days, it can be just ok. Maybe today was a "just ok" day for them? The husband got a philly cheesesteak. It comes with fries. I got a turkey BLT and it, too, should come with fries. Then we got a fried cheese. There were a few of our orders together and the girl rang them up separately, which was great. One of my sisters got a salad instead of fries with her sandwich and when we went to go pick up the dinners, as we were double checking each item, we found my sandwich didn't have fries. When questioned, the girl said, "Well, you ordered a side salad instead." Which would have been ok if there were two side salads packed in the order, but there was only 1, as per the way we had called it in. So she had to go get another fry for us. The food was barely warm by the time we got it back to the house less than a mile away, which didn't hurt my turkey BLT too much, but the fries were soggy and our fried cheese was a hard block of mozzarella with cold sauce on it. The positive points were that the sandwich I had was decent - not the best, but the bread had a nice crust to it and the turkey was flavorful. The bacon was weirdly cut up into chunks and some of it wasn't cooked properly or completely. In addition, on the sandwich, it was shoved towards the back, so there wasn't a good spread of it across the entire thing. When I bit into that section, all I got was bacon. Also, the sauce on the fried cheese was good. I don't like a spicy sauce, and this wasn't. We probably wouldn't go back for takeout from there again. It wasn't a lot of money spent per each of our orders, but it wasn't memorable enough to make it a stop for me when I come to town to visit. read more

What a disappointment the new location ended up being. Seems whoever is managing the servers does not know how to run a crew. Waited way to long to get a drink order in. Then the waitress disappeared . It gave me time to watch as a couple walk in, get seated next to me and then their drink and dinner order taken.I see my waitress and I begin to have hope. But no, she was bringing the salads to another table next to me. Then she walks past my table. I get up and leave. I have dated a few servers in my life. I know how servers hate serving people of color. I hope this wasn't the case and she is new or needs to be retrained. Also, I saw a lot of people working. I saw no team work. That's a problem. We had dinner here tonight, we are all from out of town. My mother in law was on crutches and fell while walking in the restaurant. She hit her head and had a cut there which bled. She has ended up with a sore head and neck. The reason she fell was that the floors were very slippery. The manager tried to tell her that she was dragging her foot and not using the crutches properly. I too thought the floors were slippery, almost greasy feeling, especially when coming in from outside where it was wet. While the staff did bring her ice for her head, there was no compensation. The food was just ok for the price. And the wine selection was pretty dismal. I wouldn't go back and I certainly hope they do something about the floors! read more

I have ordered takeout here a few times and it's always fresh and delicious. The vodka and pink sauces are amazing. If the pasta comes with chicken or meat it's not always a ton but still satisfying. The bread is delicious. The side salads are iceberg lettuce, which is pretty standard around here. My wife and I arrived last night around 6:30. We waited a few minutes and the hostess/manager walked us into the dining room. Upon seeing that the tables hadn't been cleaned, she walked us back to the waiting area while they cleaned off a table for us. After a table was cleaned off, she sat us and gave us menus. We sat there for 20 minutes and nobody came over to wait on us. The three other tables in the dining room that hadn't been cleaned stayed that way. We got up to leave and upon leaving passed the same hostess/manager in the lobby as she was chewing out one of the waitresses. Very unprofessional, you never do that in public, it should be done out of the view of potential customers. We will never be back and never recommend Giangelo's to anybody. Terrible. My boyfriend recently got hired here to bus and wash dishes, and keep in mind he is only 17. They were making him work on school nights well into 2 in the morning as he was waiting for the cooks to get done drinking so he could finish his job. The best part about our experience with Gia's was the location and the salad dressing. The pasta was fair, the lemon chicken was smothered in mushrooms, we had to search for the chicken underneath. The greens were way too salty and the Santisi salad proportion was a lie. If you are anyway related to the Santisi family I would strongly remove that name from your salad. They stand for quality and and hard work which apparently Gia's does not. I had to add another bag of my own salad to the half tray that I ordered. When I called to order I asked how much a half pan fed. I was told between 12-15. Which I would think is more like 9 people. Basically the portions are small and the food ( that was fair at best) is way over priced. If there was a Lariccia's or a Royal Oaks on that end of 224 you would probably be out of business. read more
