I can count on one hand the number of chiropractors that I would be willing to see again. Without a doubt, Dr. Thao is on the top of my list. My back was not in good shape after two years of being depressed, gaining weight, bad posture, on top of sleeping on my couch for the first three months of this year thanks to a crappy housing situation. Once I got my bearings I decided to try Dr. Thao's services. I was also suffering from terrible congestion with the spawn of the super bloom when I had my first appointment. After the first few adjustments in the first session, I was shocked that I had improved breathing. It felt like so much tension was undone in just the first session, it was like taking 3 shots of espresso and having restored years of my life lost to stress. My natural "straight" posture felt straighter and I found myself adjusting my car mirrors after the first few sessions because my overall posture was just... Better. Went to Dr Thao today after dealing with shoulder, neck pain & limited arm movement for some time, I'm not sure why I waited so long for relief. I have to say within minutes of the first adjustment, I was able to move my left arm/shoulder more than I had in months. Dr Thao took my concerns about past adjustments into consideration and explained everything he was doing with each step. I've had a previous joint replacement and he was able to make adjustments as needed. He also gave me some simple at home exercises to strengthen the area. I've found my new chiropractor! Did you know that you don't have to be in pain to see Dr. Thao!?? Most people think you have to be in some sort of discomfort or pain to see a Chiropractor but this is absolutely false. I do have an aching back sometimes from sitting at work and sometimes just sleeping on one side of my body too long but nothing too crazy. I see a Chiropractor on the regular and get adjustments regularly but nothing can compare to Dr. Thao's methods! I've been looking for someone who's not only experienced but has the skills to do the type of adjustments he does! Not to mention his prices are extremely reasonable and so you don't even need an insurance card! I like to think of it as my body health maintenance. I had two weeks of pain that would not go away. I suspect the pain was from lifting a heavy and awkward mattress. The pain was along my left side focused in my hips and lower back. It felt like there was cement holding me down when I tried to get out of bed in the morning along with a lot of pain. I did lots of Yoga, swimming and stretching. But that did not help. So decided to look up a chiropractor near where I work. I noticed the 5 star reviews of Thao Chiropractic and decided to call. I was thankfully in his office the same day. The pain was extreme for me and I could not wait any longer. The process was simple. I explained what was going on. He gave one look and knew what to do exactly. It was snap, crackle, pop everywhere including back, neck, hips, legs, arms, feet and hands. He gave special attention to realigning my lower back and hips. His moves are strong and very knowledgeable. After that I had a relaxing 30 min massage by one of his assistants. Driving back to work I felt bit disoriented and perhaps a little dizzy. I think because the toxins and blood flow in my body were finally moving in the right directions. The true test was waking up the next day. I'm proud to say I was able to hop out of bed without cement and pain in my hips. I have a little usual stiffness but the pain has magically subsided. I'm a true believer of Thao Chiropractic. I recently had my first session completed with Dr. Thao which consisted of a thorough and much needed body adjustment. Who knew my left leg was shorter than my right? I could feel right away, like my body sighed with relief the seconds after he corrected each area. Following the adjustment, I learned that even after adjusting the body, a session is only half-done unless you also correct the muscle group surrounding the affected area. His sessions included a massage which was wonderfully administered using an effective blend of eastern and western techniques. I was in a major car accident. Got sandwiched between two cars on 101. My car was totaled. Called Dr. Thao THAT day and he said "come in as soon as you can". I am SO glad that I went in the next day. Dr. Thao fit me in his schedule to see me every consecutive day for the next week for an hour. He did an adjustment and then spent most of the session on a very deep massage. After the first week, I had two more sessions and feel great! The day after the accident I felt like I had literally gotten hit by a truck. I could hardly move. Really nice guy, good at what he does (which is twisting your body in ways that sound disturbing yet somehow feels relaxing). What I like is that each alignment session comes with a thirty minute massage session, which is honestly the real reason I come. They have very flexible hours and usually accommodate a last minute walk in. Update: pregnant women, rejoice! Dr Thao now has a special pregnancy topper that has cut out recesses for your boobs and your growing belly. Which means you can actually get a prenatal back massage lying flat down, instead of in an awkward side position! The only other place that I know that offers this is Verde Touch in Los Gatos, but since that is a bit of a drive, I am glad to know that my big ol' baby belly won't impede on me getting a really nice deep tissue massage. I had a very important tournament to get too that was in two days and pulled a muscle in my back preventing movement.
