First of all, I payed 10$s to get in this place. Not to mention plenty of parking across the street from the club. All I can say is Vertigos all over again. The place is big enough and the dance floor is good enough to rock out on. The music, however, is AWESOME!!!! Since the emergence of Hip Hop as so called music, you can't go anywhere with listening to music that makes no sense. This place is a breath of fresh air...a much needed venue with music that since the 80s is still growing strong, inspiring bands, styles and locations like this. The people here were very chill, and the drinks were reasonable. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was the bar. The bar is located in the rear south corner of the club. Although they have good competent bartenders, the bar is still too small. Every weekend there is something going on...cover bands, Rock N Espanol vs. 80s among other things. The Smiths cover band that played last Saturday was very good, and the lead singer hit the high notes (like Morrissey used to do). I believe they have a Social D cover band coming up soon too. According to people there, it's been open since July...anyway, this place is outstanding and the music is totally what lots of us true rockers, punkers and new wavers have been waiting for- for a long time. This place is wack. They have so many rules and you have to stay in the lines to take a piss. The security are like pumped to tell you what to do. They told us not sit at a table bc someone went to dance on the floor but there wasnt a reservation sign on the table. If you're into rules this is the place for you but if not I'd suggest to stay away. Btw there's a $10 cover charge and they're drinks are way too expensive too. read more

New Year's Eve was our first time coming here. I've always wanted to check this spot out since it was local and I've been to the one in Bellflower. Anyways I don't think you can never go wrong when it comes to 80's. Glad my boyfriend and I got there at a good time because there were only a few tables left that we can purchase for the night. It wasn't no bottle service, but it beats standing on our feet all night plus we had service as well. So no waiting to get our drinks at the bar. I thought everything was good. Our waiter was nice and always attended us. Wish I remembered his name. It was a good crowd, the drinks were good, and of course music was great. Only one thing I can complain about, but really not that bad was the music was so loud for that place. You have to yell at each other when you talk. I can see if it was a big club. It wasn't that bad though because you actually got use to it. I noticed the one in Bellflower was the same as well. But that won't stop me from going. I will come back to this spot to hang out. We literally spent $100 in cover and drinks in like 10 minutes only to be treated like a child by the security here who seem to be on a power trip to tell me and my girls what to do. First security told me and my girls to get in line when their was no one in line only to let other people go in front like we weren't there before. Then I went to use the bathroom and they made me wait in between some lines like an elementary school kid. The drinks are too much for this type of place. Then we tried to sit at en empty table with no reservation sign or anything and the security came to us to say we can't sit there because they two girls went to go dance. First and last time I ever step foot in this place. My gf and I went straight to the bar and the bitc* bartender totally ignored us and helped out everyone else around us. We waited for about 15 min and never got service. Not sure if maybe it's because we are a gay couple but i felt completely discriminated against at this club. Great Music! "BUT" ( That's a big "BUT") OMG the crowd not so much. The bar lets anyone and everyone in. There should be an age limit! No seriously!! Standing in line waiting to use the bathroom wasn't so bad, watching a 50 year old skanky drunk lady stumble out of the stall was! There is no dress code!! What bar doesn't have a dress code? Well this one should! I was shocked to see someone in slippers. Wait that's not all! Someone next to me decided to smoke! I'm sorry but smoking is disgusting especially in a hot a** room full of people who aren't smoking! Yes that's another con; it's hot as hell in there! The ambiance sucks! i dont know why people complain about this place. cover charge...who cares, if you cant afford it go to a regular bar. other places charge. $10 isn't nothing. drinks are good worth the price. its good to have security there. I believe if you act up you're going to be kicked out. Used to like coming here until security thought my buddy was dancing too sexy with his wife. We were having fun watching the band Flashpants. That's their whole theme. This place had the look and atmosphere of an adult chuck-e-cheese. I can understand what people said about the security being over aggressive. Although I didn't personally have any run ins with them I saw them constantly walking through the crowds and even dance floor to make sure everybody was playing Nice lol. I'm sure they gave me a few "ocular pat Downs" myself. Anyway the low rating was because the DJ was by far one of the worst I've ever experienced, mixing was almost like he was purposely trying to get people off the dance floor. So sad that a place with so much potential can drive their business down the drain because of bad customer service and dishonest bartenders. Looks like its the same complaints for fullerton location. I came here for first time and was so disapointed to see the type of crowd. As one yelper mentioned, looks like they just got out of jail. Sound system is cheap, Bouncers are rude, drinks are horrible and no free ice water. I was scared to go to my car because of reviewes i read about no in and outs. Thats just crazy. Ive been reading some reviewes and i dont understand how this business is still running. I hope someone else opens another 80s bar with better customer service and shuts this one down. From a business perspective i dont understand why the owner allows their customers to be mistreated. Without customers there is no business, therefore should be treated with respect. Goal should be to satisfy the customer so they can return, not mistreat them and chase them away. If you dont like running a bar then sell it to someone who does and find a more gratifying business where your gonna actually enjoy and appreciate the people who are giving you their hard earned money and helping you pay your bills. Im guessing the only reason people come back is because if the music. If thats all it is then it wont take much brains for someone else to come along and do the same thing but better. So not what I'd hoped for. They played the cheesiest pop 80s you can imagine! The 80s actually had good music such as The Cure, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, The English Beat, Tears for Fears, etc. The night my significant other and I went all we heard was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and other songs of that ilk. Ugh. It would have been cool if the DJ could have at least thrown a great song in the mix especially because his laptop was plastered with stickers of the above mentioned bands. He played everything but! Judging by the large group of patrons, the owners/managers must figure if it ain't broke why fix it. That's a shame. Go figure. I did see that they have new wave music on some nights, but combined with high energy? Really??? Where oh where might a girl find a Great 80s Bar??? This place is a lot of fun. It was a very mix crowd age wise. The crowd was very laid back and having a good time. The drink prices were very reasonable and were served strong! The only reason I gave it three star is because they don't serve food which is really going back the 80's. Also the women's bathroom is really small and is right next to the bar which causes major traffic jams. The server I had was great. She came a round often to ask if we need anything. Plan on going back for my sister in law birthday. Also if you want a table you need to be there by 8 p.m. It gets packed quickly. read more

I feel safe here to party every time i come the security is professional and courteous. Robert the security guard always make the place feel welcoming and friendly. If i have a problem Robert is approachable to make a complaint to and to squash any problems. He is helpful with my friends who are handicap and is always willing to help. Although he's just security he adds that special flair to the party. He listens non-judgmentally while keeping that eagle eye on the lively crowd. To me safety is important and Robert makes that 80's bar conformable to get wild with class and style. and that's why i keep returning to that 80's bar. read more

Not as much fun as Totally 80s Bar in Fullerton but it wasn't too bad. Cons: The crowd is kind of ghetto...lots of Cholas who don't smile and who get upset if you bump into them. Lame. The sound system sucks and the tracks they play pretty much appeal to the ghetto crowd, so don't expect much mainstream...Expect more electronica, r&b and old school beats as opposed to the super fun stuff, like GoGos, New Order, or Wham. There were a lot of women there...like 20 women for every dude. Lots of couples too so don't expect to meet anyone. The ladies bathroom was clean but small. Pros: Free parking across the street, only a $5 cover charge, good air conditioning system, and plenty of tables if you arrive early. read more

That 80s bar. What a joke! We came last year for my moms bday and we had a good time but we only came with a few people. My mom decided that she wanted to come this year again for her and her twin sisters bday. Other than the dancing the service was terrible. A family friend was buying drinks for his wife and after two or three drinks that he purchased the security kicked him out for being "drunk." They let him back in a few minutes later when realizing he was fine. Also my cousin was buying shots and drinks for his mother and aunt(bday girls) and they told the security he was a "code yellow" so they wouldn't sell him alcohol. I also bought a drink that didn't taste like anything I mentioned it to the bartender and he said that he made it right when he obviously didn't. He said to me "I made your other 3 drinks the same way." (Implying that I was drunk and couldn't taste the alcohol) First of all I bought a round for my cousins and I but I didn't know they kept track of what I was buying or drinking. Whether the drinks were all for me or not that's my business I was not out of hand for him to count my drinks or treat me like a baby. They were rude this place must make good money for a dump bar if they can afford to loose money And push away customers. So disappointed. I was there for New Years two years ago and the DJ was awesome. This past Saturday the music mix was not good. I heard a lot of people around me also complaining about the DJ not playing any of the top 80's music. Only a few songs were decent. Long line for the women's restroom. The only plus were the drink servers. They were great. We were expecting a great experience like we had on New Years Eve and it just wasn't like that at all. Also, we arrived early and had to stand in this long line outside when they first opened, it took such a long time for them to charge the $25 cover charge. Usually it's $10? I guess more because the Flock of Seagulls were performing that night. They announce those who have pre purchased ticket get priority! We had no idea and could not even see it on their website where we would pre purchase tickets, so a lot of people in line were allowed to go right to the front. When we got to the front finally are told no credit cards CASH ONLY! But, wait, there's an ATM in their club, so i had to leave my driver's license to go use the ATM. It is a ridiculous set up. No warning on their website that the cover charge is CASH ONLY. So, I won't be returning. Ridiculously intoxicated and rude people there, not fun at all. read more

I went for the first time this past weekend and let me tell you it was Hella Fun. Planning 2nd trip next month. Only issue is they run out of chairs and tables quick and so peopple ended up standing along the walls. This is a great spot if you love 80's music! The night we arrived there was a Duran Duran tribute band that was awesome. Because there are not many of its kind in the area, this place gets crowded, but who goes to a place that's dead?? So if you get there late,after 8:30pm, expect to wait. Alcohol prices are OK but I think the big drinks, fish bowls, they serve for $20 is the best value and get you where you want to be. =) We ordered the adios which served us well! the people are really chill and you dont have to worry about drama. They have a VIP section which is next to the dance floor but i really dont see a point in using it unless you want to spend extra cash. There are tables opposite the VIP section but you have to arrive early to get one. Dance floor is not the biggest but it is a decent size. Price is good for entrance fee!! i would have given another star but I paid $8 for a tall can of PBR, really!! read more
