I waited until several appointments before writing this review because I wanted to write a thorough review. I was extremely happy at my first appointment at "That Broadway Smile" with my 3 children. I was looking for a dentist that went the extra mile and spoke about different options for your child. My kids' previous dentist always recommended pulling teeth and never mentioned that my kids had cavities. I thought that was odd because they are 7 and 8 years old and they eat a lot of candy and who doesn't have a cavity? I switched when my old dentist made my daughter cry because he made it seem like the only option for her was to "pull her teeth because its crowded". Hes not even an orthodontist so why was he recommending "pulling teeth" and if your teeth are "Crowded" shouldn't you refer to an orthodontist? And shes only 8!! I researched to find the perfect dentist-Dr. Nesnay. Her office is cute. It has popcorn, a movie theater and it has coffee, balloons, In the first appointment, they took the time to look at every teeth. They explained what they were going to do when the kids were not there---they did not want to scare them. They explained in detail why they would recommend orthodontist treatment. They explained in detail different options for maintaining their teeth healthy. They explained in detail what was going on with their teeth. They showed me x-rays right away. They repeated things once or twice to make sure i understand (Because with 3 little ones, its sometimes hard to keep up). They explain your co-payment in detail before you walk in and they will explain again a 2nd time right before your kid walks in. They give you a print out and it outlines step by step what was done and what each fee is for, one print out for every child. There was a follow up appointment to fill some cavities that went very smoothly and both my kids were extremely happy when they came out with a Popsicle. Nothing is ever perfect. If you're a working mom and have multiple kids and sometimes miss your appointments because of work, you may want to reconsider this place. It is so difficult to reschedule an existing appointment with Dr. Nesnay. Shes in the office limited time and I work 40 hours a week so we just couldn't make it work within the same month. Their option was to see if i can take a day off or leave early from work and call the same day to come in (Because people do cancel the same day) and that's what i did but I couldnt see Dr. Nesnay on my 2nd appointment with the kids. It is very inconvenient and I was very disappointed they couldn't accommodate a rescheduled appointment. I called 2-3 times to reschedule and there was nothing in the calendar for Dr. Nesnay during that month. I still love them because my kids are always happy when they go there and happy when they walk out so I will continue to visit them but you are warned if you are a working mom and sometimes things don't go as planned they are not very accommodating. Perhaps if you see another doctor there will be more flexibility. (I took off one star because of this) My kids LOVE Them and are so happy to go to the dentist. The entire staff at That Broadway Smile is amazing!! One of my boys, let's just say, is not the toughest when it comes to the dentist. They made it so easy. When he was given a local for a cavity, he felt nothing at all. I was so shocked. My wife sent me with him to the dentist because she thought she wouldn't be able to handle it. Honestly, there was nothing to handle. I really am so appreciative to the care they gave my son. It shows that they operate in such a caring way on a regular basis. I bring my 2 sons to Dr. Nesnay and her incredible team of highly trained and very kind professionals ... we drive all the way from Manhattan because she and her team have the best pediatric dental practice we have found. My kids have gone there since my older son was 3 and he is now 15! I would recommend this group to anyone unconditionally. Any other dentist is a mistake for your kids - trust a NYC mom! To start, my daughter has no dental insurance. My fault for forgetting to add her to the plan. From the start, Dee, Jackie, Olivia, the anesthesiologists, dr Danielle. Teri, everyone has been INCREDIBLE. IF you are reading a negative review it's because someone didn't do their research. For us this was our best option and by far treated us with the most caring disposition and made us feel comfortable with the work that needed to be done. Even with all the Covid obstacles they made our visit comfortable from the start. We tried with sweet air but sometimes your kid is wants no part of it. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Everyone in this office is amazing, from Doctor Nesnay and every dentist and hygenist we've had, to the receptionists and billing department. When you encounter people who care and want to help, it's a relief, especially when your child needs an emergency procedure. Beyond the wonderful care, the office itself is really neat! Movie themed, complete with popcorn and water, and a real movie theatre. Each room is themed and the attention to detail is astounding. This office is absolutely amazing. i'm one of those "crazy moms" and they have far exceeded any expectations i've had of them!!! The NICEST staff that go out of their way to do anything and everything for you! Clean, updated, everyone is an expert in their field, these people know why they're doing and they do it well. My son has had fillings done since he doesn't have the best diet and they have all held up beautifully. if you go, ask for Jamie as your hygienist. she's top notch All the dentists are amazing too. Great place! Wonderful staff! Easy appt making :) and great mini movie theater while waiting with kids! Sometimes parking is a bit of a problem but off hours are fine. The kids love the themed rooms and there are TVs on the ceilings so they don't mind laying back and looking up while getting their teeth cleaned :) read more

Today was my daughter's first visit and I was extremely impressed with the office and care my daughter received. Dr. Nesnay was great and the dental assistant was fantastic! Everything was explained and what my daughter will need and they were extremely attentive with how nervous my daughter was. The office is clean and exciting. Where do I begin? Avoid like the plague. Dr Nesnay is much better than fong or dano but you'll get fong or dano. The receptionist is pleasant. Hygienists are ok till you need x Rays. They say they welcome special needs. They treat everyone like they have special needs which is to say if your 4 year old cries there MUST be something wrong with them. They write in your file that your kid is special needs! I'm not kidding. Could they be any more offensive? In the meantime they use a very loud drill and this giant plastic face mask so your kid can barely breathe. For baby fillings! Avoid this place. It was traumatizing and they blame the kids. For the money they charge they could do a lot better. Also don't appreciate the tooth rotting popcorn in the wait area. And they run late. read more

I recently took my three daughters to That Broadway Smile for their check ups. Anyone with children can imagine what it is usually like taking three little kids to the dentist at the same time, but this office was the complete opposite. I am not one to usually write a review on any company but That Broadway Smile was absolutely amazing. I work during the week so getting any appointment is not an easy task, especially for 3 children but when I called to schedule the appointment the receptionist was very understanding and took my number and told me she would call if any weekend or evening appointments opened. I hung up thinking I would never get a call back but within a few days she called back and offered me Saturday appointments for all 3 of my kids. When we arrived I could not believe how amazing the office is. Everyone is extra friendly and they made my kids feel at ease. All three of my daughters had exams, cleanings and x-rays and one of my girls had to have a tooth pulled and we were out in 1 hour. They were able to schedule my follow up visits in the exam room an we were able to walk right out. They even had someone coming in to check what insurance would cover as the exams were taking place. I would recommend this office to anyone with children. I even asked if I could be seen myself in the office and of course I was told no. That would be my only complaint. This is by far and away the best pediatric dental office around! Very busy and very friendly and accommodating. The office is amazing, with every room a spinoff on a movie theme...they even have a small movie theater, including popcorn! I am shocked that an office this nice actually takes my dental plan! We've been patients of Dr. Nesnay for over 10 years now and and I tell everyone we know to go there! My kids love going to the dentist!Dr. Nesnay is caring and compassionate and any time that we've been with one of the other doctors we were treated very nicely...just the best! read more

An unbelievable office and not because of the built in movie theater. From receptionist to office manager to hygienists to Dr. Nesnay this was a superior experience for both parent and child. Could not have been nicer and they really know what they are doing with regard to special needs children. The outside anesthesiologist they use was just as good. Highly recommended. read more

My kids loved the built in theater! They were so engrossed with the movie that they forget they were at the dentist office! By the time they got into the dentist chair they were both relaxed! So today was my first time going there. I have to say, I have never met such an amazing doctor and hygienist! Dr dano and Ashley were amazing with my son! My son is young and he sat with them! The staff was extremely nice also! Definitely bring your child here! read more

I absolutely hate them. We had been going there for six years and never had an issue other than being over charged or needing additional fillings on a tooth that a filling ( that they did), fell out only 6 months later. Nesnay said it was probably caused by gum. I told her my daughter has only had gum once in her life up until that time and I highly doubt that was the reason. They charged me full price to fix it. My daughter who is very well behaved and 7 years old, had to get two cavities filled ( one was to be redone after the teeth was sealed by them). When the appointment was scheduled, I told the receptionist I wouldn't be able to be there right at 5 pm bc of work but closer to 5:15 right after work. She said not a problem. Just come as close to 5 as you can. So that day, I was sitting in front of the place at 5:07 and they called me to see where I was. I said I'm right in front of your place and coming in now and they said not a problem. Then after I checked in, the manager told me bc I was late (5:11), they took the 5:30 appointment that came earlier. She said I would have to wait a 30-45 min longer to get in. I had a business meeting at 6:30 and couldn't miss it. She said there's nothing that could be done and I shouldn't have been late. I explained what happened when the appointment was set and she said that never happened bc they wouldn't say to come 15 min late. Long story short, we wait, I miss my meeting and we go in. That's when I asked how much are they charging me this time being one is a real cavity and one is supposed to be fixed bc the tooth they sealed was the issue. The bill was $783 for 2 cavities and they claimed The sealed tooth had a cavity on a different side. I told them they are extremely overpriced. While they made me " step into the light" away from the room where my daughter was in, they started the work on her without me there. Once I realized that, I went back into the room and stayed while work was being done. We had the other dentist. He was good and I explained to him the only reason we come here is bc of him bc nesnay is rude, scolds the kids, threatens to kick the parents out of the room and falsely promises if they behave the parents will take them out for ice cream! You're a dentist and you are bribing kids with popcorn that stays in your teeth and ice cream?!?!? I just don't get it. Moving on, a few days later I received a letter stating dr nesnay ( who we didn't even go to the last few visits bc she kept scolding my daughter and threatening to kick me out of the room if she didn't stop crying from getting a needle. She was 5!! And scared getting her first cavity filled.) didn't feel we appreciate her and they choose to no longer treat my kids ( who are extremely well behaved). She didn't like my " behavior". It's funny bc I called them and said so it is not my right as a consumer to question pricing and compare pricing without being told my behavior is poor and you are no longer treating my kids?? Sounds very immature to me. Definitely the worst pediatric dentist around! read more

This dentists office is AMAZING! I don't even know where to begin. My daughter is 7, non-verbal with moderate autism and many sensory issues. We brought her here last year to have work done under sedation and were amazed by the dentist, the hygienists, the assistants, even the front staff. But today really proved to me that they have people that are TRULY special here. Today my girl needed a cleaning. As soon as it was time to go in, she started resisting. She had to get nitric oxide to calm her and had to get strapped into a "safety blanket". When I tell you, I was AMAZED at the care, understanding and patience everyone showed her. She was SCREAMING, even with the gas. They all quickly went into action. Strapped her in, held her in different places (gently), put her favorite cartoon on the ceiling tv, gave her deep compressions, talked to her to calm her, amongst other things. And this was all before the dentist even walked in. He came in and continued exactly what the nurses had been doing to get the cleaning done. At one point there were 5 adults in the room including myself and my husband, all for my tiny, (but very strong), 45lb girl. I am floored by this practice after today. She had her cleaning done and was thrilled to get her balloons, goody bag and get out of there lol. I can't thank you all enough for showing such amazing care and understanding to my special needs baby girl. I travel 45 minutes each way to get this office and it is worth every second!
